Chapter 3: Story Time
Y/N's POV
The children all sit close to each-other on the carpet. Lana sits away from them. Sunny looks around to make sure everyone is seated. "Alright kids, settle–Yes Mason?" "Can y/n tell a story this time," Mason asks.
Sunny looks at me. "Well, if she/he wants to. I suppose," Sunny replies. I'm a little hesitant. But how could I say 'no' to those eyes? I sigh.
"I guess I could," I murmur. I walk over next to Sunny. The children stare at me. They're depending on me to tell them a good story. "Um, my story…is about a friendly monster…named Sam. And Sam was yellow…and ummm…he had one eye and four arms."
That caught their attention. "Today was Sam's first day helping different kids, he had his hands full but was happy to be there. Sometimes Sam would have to split into multiple little versions of himself to help multiple kids at once. It was quite easy to help the children and even had an easy time teaching the kids life skills. Sometimes the kids would get overwhelmed–"
"LIKE EMMA DOES" Mason blurts out. "SHUT UP MASON," Emma yells. "We do not say 'shut up' now," says Sunny. Emma scoffs. I sigh. "Can I continue," I ask. Emma slightly shifts. Mason nods. I sigh.
"Sam would help them calm down using kindness and patience, which always helped. Sometimes it's hard for the children to deal with things, however Sam always had a way to help! Sam remembered how he coped with things and took out a few fidgets–"
"I like fidgets," Klyde interrupts. I exhale deeply. "Yes. I do too. Now let me continue, please." "Okay…" Klyde murmurs.
"Sam went home and he was very upset and overwhelmed just like the other kids…" I look at Ruby, who has her hand raised. I sigh. "Yes, Ruby?" "Why was he overwhelmed," asks Ruby. "Well…too much was happening all at once," I reply. "Makes sense," Sunny mutters.
"Once Sam was calm, Sam went to the kitchen and made something to eat."
"I like pancakes," says Jade. "I like cheeseburgers," says Violet. "I like chicken," says Mason. "I like yogurt," says Rose. "That's not a real food," Emma says. "Yes it is," Rose argues.
Sunrise's POV
Y/N looks agitated. She/he sighs and blinks slowly. "Children! Y/N is trying to tell a story and you're interrupting," I tell the kids. "Sorry…" Ruby murmured. I look at y/n and smile. She/he clears her/his throat.
"Once Sam finished eating he headed to bed. Goodnight Sam, tomorrow will be another successful day."
"What does successful mean," Mason asks. "Well, it means that you have completed something," y/n explains. I spin around excitedly. "Okay everyone! It's Arts and Crafts time! Go to the tables!" "Yogurt is still a food," Emma states as she and everyone get up and scatter.
