Chapter 75 - What Can You Do to Me?
Chapter 75 What Can You Do to Me?
A burst of dense and rapid footsteps suddenly sounded from the door. Then the clubhouse staff blocking in the doorway had to get out of the way.
A group of policemen poured in through the front door, led by an officer with a gun in his hand. As soon as he came in, the officer shouted fiercely, “Nobody move!”
Ning Tao stopped. He was not so bold as to fight in front of a policeman with a gun. In fact, he was usually not a megalomaniac, but a very rational person, if his evil side was not awakened.
“Who hit them?” asked the leading officer in a threatening voice.
Chen Tiansheng immediately raised his hand to Ning Tao and said, “That’s the guy! He’s responsible for all the injuries here. Get him!”
The leading officer looked at Ning Tao and said with a sneer, “You are so lawless that you dare to beat people here. Take him!”
A policeman took off his handcuffs and walked over to Ning Tao. Without hesitation, he grabbed Ning Tao and snapped handcuffs around his wrists.
Click!
Ning Tao, who had just scared everyone, was arrested.
Although he was good at brawling, how could he attack law enforcement agencies?
“Officer, you’ve got the wrong man!” Zhao Wushuang exclaimed. “They were the first who started it. I could…”
Before Zhao Wushuang could finish her sentence, the leading officer yelled, “Be quiet, please! If you want to report the situation, please follow us to the station and make a record. Don’t interfere with our official business now!”
“Wushuang, it’s none of your business. Don’t say anything. I’ll be all right,” Ning Tao told Zhao Wushuang.
To Zhao Wushuang, his words were more effective than anyone else’s, and she immediately fell silent.
“You’ll be all right?” the leading police officer sneered. “You are so naive and arrogant. You injured so many people, and seem to have disabled a man. How could you still say you will be all right?”
Ning Tao just calmly watched, listened, and did nothing else. The cops came in right after Huai Kebing yelled, and the leading officer couldn’t be unrelated to Huai Kebing.
“Officer, may I have a word with him?” Huai Kebing asked, as if they were strangers.
The leading officer nodded at him.
Huai Kebing walked over to Ning Tao, patted him on the face, then leaned into his ear and said in a voice that only he and Ning Tao could hear, “Ning Tao, huh? Do you know what awaits you?”
A trace of a smile crept over the corners of Ning Tao’s mouth and then he shook his head.
Huai Kebing patted Ning Tao in the face again, with a little effort this time. “Then I’ll tell you. Boy, your case will be settled in a week, and then you’ll be sent to prison. No matter how many years the judge gives you, you’re never going to get out of prison. I’m going to see you in prison when you’re dying. I wonder if you will be as aggressive by then as you are now. Besides, Zhao Wushuang can’t get out of this club tonight. There’s only one place she can go, and that’s my bed. When I come to see you in prison, I’ll show you the video I torture her with.”
“Are you finished?” Ning Tao asked courtly.
Huai Kebing was startled a little. He wanted to see Ning Tao regret and fear, but Ning Tao looked pretty calm and unconcerned. He was very puzzled and wondered, “Is this guy a dead mouse that feels no cold?”
“If you’re done, I’ll tell you something,” Ning Tao said, still with a hint of disdain. “You’re overthinking it. None of those things are going to happen. But one thing will happen, and that’s what I just told you, heaven doesn’t punish you, but I will punish you. I’ll be out of here soon with Wushuang, and you, you’ll be taken away. I will come to you myself when you come out.”
“You’ll be out of here with Zhao Wushuang? Ha ha ha…” Huai Kebing burst into laughter.
Stamp! Stamp! Stamp…
Suddenly there were uniform footsteps outside the door, which sounded breathtaking!
There was only one kind of people who could make that sound when they were running—soldiers.
Stamp! Stamp! A line of soldiers filed into the banquet hall with the sound of their shocking footsteps. They were all heavily armed and expressionless. No one ordered the people on their way to step aside, but all of the people fell back in unison.
All were dumbfounded by the sudden appearance of these soldiers.
Huai Kebing’s laugh stopped abruptly. He was supposed to be the most curious person in the whole banquet hall to know what had happened, but he could never guess.
“Attention!” The officer at the head of the line gave a shout.
Clatter!
Dozens of soldiers stood at attention, and the line stretched from the banquet hall out the door.
The officer gave another order. “Turn right!”
Clatter!
With a clatter of heels, all the soldiers turned to the right, and a passage formed by men and guns was born at once.
An old man in military uniform came through the door. He was grizzled and sounded his age, but he was a man of great stature, with a brisk gait, and a military majesty about his square face.
Ding Ye had come.
“Which son of a bitch handcuffed Doctor Ning!” That was Ding Ye’s first words as he entered the banquet hall. At the sight of the handcuffs on Ning Tao’s wrist, his eyes were burning with anger.
His opening words made Huai Kebing’s heart skip a beat.
“Uncuff Doctor Ning!” Ding Ye roared, “Otherwise I will never let him off the hook!”
The face of the police officer who ordered Ning Tao to be handcuffed had long lost his color. Although he had a certain status in the police station in this area, he was weak like dust in front of a general like Ding Ye!
“Are you deaf?” Ding Ye roared again, with uncontrollable anger.
“Quick! Come on! Uncuff him!” The leading officer urged and got panic.
The policeman who handcuffed Ning Tao just now ran over to remove the handcuffs. His hands were shaking during the process.
Ding Ye strode over to Ning Tao and glared at the policeman with the handcuffs. The policeman didn’t even dare to look at Ding Ye, so he lowered his head and hurried back.
The next second, a smile appeared on Ding Ye’s face. “Doctor Ning, are you okay?”
Ning Tao rubbed his wrist, smiled, and said, “I’m fine, thanks, Old Master.”
Ding Ye frowned and said, “We are family, so don’t say that to me.”
Ding Ye apparently implied that Ning Tao was Jiang Hao’s boyfriend. Ning Tao knew it, but it was hard for him to explain it to him.
At this moment, Huai Kebing slipped back.
He had just stepped back when Ning Tao suddenly walked up to him and grabbed his hand. Ning Tao’s hand was full of spiritual power so that Huai Kebing’s hand was immediately pinched out of shape!
Huai Kebing instantly put on a grimace, but he was very stubborn, gritting his teeth to stop him from screaming out in pain.
A lot of people had seen this, but who would argue for him or feel unfair for someone like him?
This had always been a jungle world. Ordinary people lived and worked in peace because they were protected by strong countries and strong people.
Ning Tao leaned against Huai Kebing’s ear and whispered, “Do you remember what I said before? Will you kneel down to Wushuang, or shall I get you down on your knees?”
Huai Kebing took a deep breath and tried to calm himself before saying aloud, “I was wrong about you. How can Zhao Wushuang see a man who’s just an ordinary doctor? But so what? Everything must be proved by evidence. Bring charges against me if you have any. You mustn’t forget that we are not a family to be bullied by anyone who wants to. You’d better not make it too big.”
“Wushuang, come here,” Ning Tao said.
Zhao Wushuang was also shocked by the arrival of these soldiers and came to her senses until Ning Tao called her. She walked up to Ning Tao, having no idea why Ning Tao asked her to come.
Ning Tao leaned into Huai Kebing’s ear again and repeated what he had just said. “Will you kneel down to Wushuang, or shall I get you down on your knees?”
Huai Kebing made a cold sniff, simply closed his eyes, looking like he didn’t want to pay attention to Ning Tao. He seemed to assume that Ning Tao and the soldiers wouldn’t dare go too far. His confidence came from his family. After all, the Huai family in Beidu had enormous power!
“Very well.” Ning Tao just said two words and let go of Huai Kebing’s hand.
A sneer tugged at the corner of Huai Kebing’s mouth.
“Old Master, could you get your people to stand in a circle?” Ning Tao turned to Ding Ye and asked.
Ding Ye understood and immediately ordered, “Surround here!”
Dozens of soldiers in the hall immediately changed the column formation and surrounded Ning Tao, Huai Kebing, Zhao Wushuang, and Ding Ye in seconds. These soldiers, all taller than 1.7 meters, suddenly formed a circular human wall, blocking the view of people outside.
Ning Tao approached Ding Ye and said, “Old Master, can you lend me a gun?”
“What are you going to do?” Ding Ye asked in surprise.
“You’ll know soon. Lend me one. I won’t mess around,” Ning Tao said.
Ding Ye pulled his pistol out of the holster and handed it to Ning Tao. Then he leaned into Ning Tao’s ear and said, “Don’t mess around, boy, this gun…”
Ning Tao grinned and backed away before Ding Ye could finish. Then he turned, suddenly grabbed Huai Kebing’s hand and thrust the pistol into his hand.
Suddenly feeling a piece of cold thing in his hand, Huai Kebing, who was closing his eyes to maintain a cool attitude, opened his eyes right away. Immediately, the gun in his hand came into sight, and he was frightened half to death. He tried to release the gun, but Ning Tao was holding his right hand so tightly that he couldn’t make him loosen his hand. As a result, he couldn’t throw that gun away!
“Someone is snatching the gun!” Ning Tao suddenly bellowed.
Clanging! Dozens of guns were suddenly raised and instantly aimed at Huai Kebing and Ning Tao in the center of the circle.
“Drop the gun! Or we’ll shoot!” roared the leading officer.
“I, I… I didn’t…” Huai Kebing who was calm lost his composure, and the blood drained out of his face!
For a man who stole a general’s gun, these soldiers could shoot him instantly without collecting his body!
“Protect the general!” Ning Tao yelled and stepped on Huai Kebing’s leg.
Huai Kebing flopped down on his knees, facing Zhao Wushuang who was hurt by him so much!
Now that Ning Tao asked him to get down, he had to get down!
Ning Tao not only made Huai Kebing kneel down in front of Zhao Wushuang but also gave Ding Ye a charge of arresting Huai Kebing—snatching the gun!
“Arrest him!” Of course, Ding Ye understood Ning Tao’s intention. He immediately ordered Huai Kebing’s arrest.
Several soldiers rushed up and pinned Huai Kebing to the ground, and the officer wisely restrained Huai Kebing from releasing the pistol by his right hand.
There was a gap in the human chain so that outside people saw Huai Kebing was holding a pistol and held down to the ground by several soldiers.
“Take him away!” With a face full of rage, Ding Ye said, “How dare you to rob my gun. Are you trying to kill me? Come on!”
“I, I… I didn’t. It was him…” Before Huai Kebing could finish his sentence, the officer pressed his face to the ground, and all that came out of his mouth was a purr.
“Take him away!” Ding Ye ordered.
Two soldiers picked Huai Kebing up and dragged him away.
“I have been wronged! I was wronged…” Huai Kebing’s voice drifted away.
The leading office took out a handkerchief and carefully picked up the pistol that fell off Huai Kebing’s hand. He didn’t touch the handle, apparently trying to prevent Huai Kebing’s fingerprints from being wiped.
Ding Ye pulled Ning Tao aside and said, “You pointed a gun at me, boy? Were you worried that the gun might go off!”
Ning Tao smiled and said, “There’s no bullet in the gun. How did it go off?”
Ding Ye froze for a moment and asked, “How do you know my gun is empty?”
Not only was there no bullets in Ding Ye’s gun, but there were also no bullets in those soldiers’ guns. Ning Tao sniffed out the secret with his nose, but he replied to Ding Ye, “Hehe, I guess.”
Zhao Wushuang came over and said, “Brother Ning, we…”
Before, she was deeply moved by Ning Tao and called him brother, but now she called him brother Ning. This was not her sincere moved devalued, but because she found it was not proper to call him brother. Since they were not related, why would she call him brother?
Ding Ye stared at Zhao Wushuang and asked, “Who is this?”
“Nice to see you, general. My name is… Zhao Wushuang. I’m a friend of brother Ning.” For some reason, Zhao Wushuang felt that there was something wrong with the general’s eyes, which made her feel guilty.
Before Ning Tao could speak, Ding Ye took Ning Tao’s hand and left. “You go back to Shan City right now and come back to Jiang Hao. Don’t come to Beidu if there’s nothing.”
Ning Tao agreed. He knew that Ding Ye was asking him to stay away from trouble. He wanted to say goodbye to Zhao Wushuang and Fan Huaying, but Ding Ye obviously didn’t want to give him the chance and took him by the hand and walked faster.
“I’ll find you.” Zhao Wushuang looked at Ning Tao’s back and murmured, but only she could hear what she said.
