Chapter 76 - Qing Zhui's Tongue
Chapter 76 Qing Zhui’s Tongue
At the capital airport.
“I’ll just take you right here.” Ding Congjun parked his car in the fast channel. Due to the military license plate on his car, no airport police came to urge them to leave.
Ning Tao who was in the front passenger seat, gave a wry smile and asked, “Why are you in such a hurry to send me back to Shan City?”
Ding Congjun replied gravely, “You ask this question because you don’t know about the Huai family in Beidu. The Huai family has a backer. I expect someone will come to my house soon to intercede. My father might make a deal with the Huai family to keep you safe and to get them to give up revenge on you, and then we let Huai Kebing go.”
“He grabbed a general’s gun! It’s a crime. Will he be spared his guilt?” exclaimed Ning Tao.
“You know that better than I do,” Ding Congjun said solemnly. “You have to know that those people in that hall will testify for Huai Kebing. They are all influential people in society. Just the public pressure they might generate is not something we can afford.”
Ning Tao felt bad in the heart, but he understood the Ding family had their own reasons. They couldn’t help him any more. What right had he to complain?
Ding Congjun gave a sigh and said, “I know you won’t be happy with the result, but…”
With a grin, Ning Tao replied, “No, I’m not unhappy with it. It’s a pity, but I understand your difficulties, and I can accept the result. All right, I’ll return to Shan City and stay away from trouble.”
“That’s good,” Ding Congjun said happily. “You, for a star, is it worth it? Jiang Hao will know about it. She’ll be angry. Coax her, and she’ll forgive you.”
Ning Tao was speechless. Did he do anything? No, but somehow he nodded at Ding Congjun.
Ding Congjun patted Ning Tao on the shoulder and said, “Whenever a man is not married, he will be attracted by other women. I understand. It doesn’t matter if you have fun in keeping with the occasion, but if you don’t treat Jiang Hao well, I won’t let you off the hook.”
Ning Tao didn’t know how to answer.
“Go in and get your boarding pass,” Ding Congjun urged. “It’s time for me to go back.”
“Goodbye, Brother Congjun.” Ning Tao also patted Ding Congjun on the shoulder before he got out of the car and went into the terminal building.
Not long after Ding Congjun drove away, Ning Tao came out of the terminal building again. He then got a ride-hailing car of Didi Chuxing online and went straight to Blackhill Village.
Ning Tao totally understood why the Ding family wouldn’t go to fight against the Huai family. However, in terms of his understanding of people like Huai Kebing, Huai Kebing definitely would not let it go even if the Ding family and the Huai family reached an agreement. Huai Kebing would never let slip Ning Tao and Zhao Wushuang. Rather than being passive, Ning Tao thought that he had better be prepared.
In fact, he had no intention of letting Huai Kebing go. It would also be in his interest for the Ding family to get out of the affair. That way, he could boldly do what he wanted!
The ride-hailing car of Didi Chuxing that Ning Tao got online was an ordinary car, which couldn’t compare with Bai Jing’s Brabus G500. As the car passed Blackhill Village, Ning Tao asked the driver to stop at the end of the concrete road. Then he walked over to Bai Jing and Qing Zhui’s “territory”. When no one else was around, he began to run instead of walking. Surprisingly, he moved faster than a cross-country Brabus G50. It wasn’t long before he reached the edge of the pool.
Whiffs of spiritual energy rose from under the pool, but it was not strong. In the eyes of geomancers, however, this thin spiritual energy was enough to make this place a treasure land in geomancy that only the emperors were entitled to bury here. Those geomancers had complicated skills in exploring treasure lands in geomancy, while Ning Tao only needed to look at the spiritual energy to know the geomancy of a place.
The pool was deserted, and a small waterfall crashed down from the cliff into the pool. Waves surged in the clear pool, but no water came out of it.
Ning Tao stopped by the pool and took a look at where he was going. The quaint manor house was gone, and he saw a wasteland of weeds and stones, and a few old graves. He was not surprised at all. It was for him that Bai Jing used magic arts or demon skills to create the antique manor out of thin air the night before yesterday. It was likely that when he left, the manor was removed. Now the cultivating resources were precious, and refining magic tools was not easy. To use them would consume the spiritual power. That was to say, the practitioner had less spiritual power with each use of magic arts or demon skills. In this case, how could Bai Jing keep using it and consuming her spiritual power?
Ning Tao was not in a hurry anymore when he got here. He chose a place to sit down with his legs crossed, and then ran the ABC of elementary cultivation method. He came over from the airport with no intention of practicing spiritual power. But passing by and seeing wisps of spiritual energy emerge from the water, he got the idea. He wanted to see if his special powers could be practiced with spiritual energy.
The result came out quickly. Practicing spiritual power, according to the ABC of elementary cultivation method given by the good-evil tripod, with the spiritual energy of heaven and earth didn’t work. When he practiced spiritual power in the clinic with the energy of good and evil, he could clearly feel the enhancement of his spiritual power, but when he practiced with the spiritual energy of heaven and earth, he did not feel the enhancement of it at all.
The result didn’t surprise Ning Tao. He was a born go-between of good and evil, and he was the only one for 2,000 years. He did not need the spiritual energy of heaven and earth, but only the energy of good and evil from the merit of good intention and the sin of evil intention. This was beyond the reach of other practitioners and demons, which was actually the reason why he had made great progress despite his short time in practice. It would probably take a few decades, or even 100 years, for an ordinary practitioner to reach his present level.
Stopping practicing his spiritual power, Ning Tao went directly to the “door” of Bai Jing and Qing Zhui’s house.
It was actually a hidden cave full of weeds and vines.
Ning Tao stepped in. After walking some distance, he saw the wooden door, made of Phoebe zhennan, embedded in the cave. He stopped at the door and knocked.
It was several seconds before Qing Zhui’s voice came out of the door. “Doctor Ning, come in.” There was a note of excitement in her voice.
Ning Tao pushed the door open and went in, wondering how Qing Zhui knew it was him.
The room glittered with golden light and was filled with the unique medicinal smell of Phoebe zhennan, and Qing Zhui’s scent–the smell of clear spring mixed with mysterious elements. The smell was very alluring. Ning Tao had inhaled more than once, but still this time. When he entered the room, and smelled Qing Zhui’s scent, a little desire came over him uncontrollably.
Qing Zhui was still on the big bed, looking at Ning Tao with her head tilted. Her face, soft as Lin Daiyu’s, was full of joy. She was covered with an air conditioning blanket instead of a quilt, but the blanket did not cover her wound. So, as soon as he stepped into the room, Ning Tao not only saw her, but also saw a patch of sultry white skin.
Ning Tao froze for a second, then turned around and said awkwardly, “Er, cover… cover you up.”
“I can’t cover the wound. It helps me recover faster.” Qing Zhui replied.
“Well, cover it now and expose it when I’m gone,” Ning Tao said. How could he talk to her when her seductive skin was exposed? He was afraid that he would do something bad.
Then there was a rustle behind him before Qing Zhui’s voice sounded. “It’s all right.”
Ning Tao just turned around. Qing Zhui had pulled the air conditioning blanket down a bit to cover her wound, but her white legs were still exposed to the air. However, Ning Tao couldn’t ask for anything more, or, it would look like he was melodramatic.
“Well, how did you know it was me?” Ning Tao came to the bedside and started the conversation.
Qing Zhui thought for a moment, opened her small mouth to Ning Tao, and stuck out her tongue. Her tongue was small, smooth, and very long, at least twice as long as a normal person’s, so she could easily lick her nose with her tongue.
Her behavior and her expression at the moment caused Ning Tao some hurt. “Why are you sticking your tongue out?” he asked awkwardly.
Qing Zhui nimbly moved her tongue a few times.
Ning Tao found himself at a loss for words. To him, the slow way she put out her tongue was only “hurtful”, and now it was “tingly”. He felt as if he had been poisoned and found a distinct change in his body.
Luckily, Qing Zhui tucked her tongue back and explained, “Didn’t you just ask me how I knew it was you? When you knocked I put out my tongue, and I knew it was you.”
Ning Tao was confused. “Is your tongue a detector?”
Qing Zhui chuckled and replied, “Our tongues are actually our noses, almost as sensitive as a dog’s nose. When I take a bite of the air with my tongue, I know the odor factor you emit in the air.”
So Ning Tao got the answer that a snake’s tongue was as sensitive as a dog’s nose. When it came to dog’s noses, Ning Tao knew that. However, Qing Zhui’s tongue wasn’t quite the same as his nose when his nose was in the state of smelling. His nose could smell the diseased organs in the state of smelling, and could even “split” the material composition of an object, but Qing Zhui’s tongue obviously had no these functions.
“Smell, or sniff, rather than eat.” Getting the answer, Ning Tao’s first reaction was somehow to correct Qing Zhui’s mistakes in words.
“Eat, because I use my tongue,” Qing Zhui retorted.
Ning Tao shrugged and said, “All right, let’s not talk about your tongue. I’ve come to say goodbye to you.”
Qing Zhui’s face instantly darkened, appearing slightly worried. “Where are you going? How can I find you when I’m well?”
Ning Tao removed the nightstand, bit his finger and drew a blood lock on the wall behind the nightstand with his bloody finger.
Qing Zhui looked at Ning Tao curiously and asked, “What are you doing?”
“Call me when you’re well, in this room, and I’ll pick you up. But remember, you must not to tell anyone the secret of this pattern, including your sister. Can you promise?” Ning Tao asked.
Qing Zhui was silent for a moment and then nodded. “Yes, I promise. I’m your snake slave, but my sister isn’t. I’ll do whatever you ask, and keep any secret for you.”
A smile played across Ning Tao’s lips. “Good, now I’ll cure you with my spiritual power again, and then put some delicate perfumed cream on your wound, which would be helpful to get rid of your scars,” Ning Tao said.
“Excellent, I was worried I’d get a scar.” Qing Zhui stretched her hand behind her back, and immediately lifted the air conditioning blanket that just covered her, looking as if she was willing to let Ning Tao treat her at will.
Ning Tao opened the medicine chest, took out a bottle of delicate perfumed cream, and put a few drops on the newly healed scar. Then he took a deep breath and put his hand to her demon bone with a serious expression…
About half an hour later, Ning Tao finished the treatment. After packing his things, he opened the blood lock with the clinic key.
The inky convenient door appeared on the wall, full of mystery.
“This…” Qing Zhui was shocked.
“I’m going back now, remember what I told you,” Ning Tao said.
Qing Zhui nodded subconsciously.
Then Ning Tao walked in the convenient door with his medicine chest. Two seconds later, the door was gone.
Qing Zhui still stared at the wall without moving for a long time.
