Chapter 67: Chapter 67: Untrained Enel
"Ugh, my head hurts..."
"Hey, where is this place? Let me go right now, or I won't hold back!"
Enel slowly stirred from his slumber.
However, upon waking, he realized he had been tied to the mast of a warship.
This situation left him feeling uneasy, but he couldn't let his fear show on the outside.
"Kid, you'd better keep quiet. We're currently ten thousand meters in the air, and if I were to throw you off, you'd be reduced to nothing but bones."
Karl sat not far from the mast, speaking softly.
Kuro and Belmerre were not here; they were still resting below deck.
They had a bit too much fun on Skypiea yesterday, so both were feeling a bit tired.
"Just a mere Blue Sea person, let me go! I am the future god! Offending me will bring you a miserable death!"
"Oh? Not bad for such a young brat. You've got a worse temper than I do. You really think too highly of yourself!"
Karl raised an eyebrow, then struck Enel's head with a crisp sound, as if slapping a watermelon.
"Ugh~ That hurts!"
Enel winced in pain, gritting his teeth and trembling all over.
Since he was tied up, he couldn't even touch his head.
"You bastard! Let me go now, or I'll make you regret it!"
"Make me regret it? I'm already handsome enough. How else would you want me to look?"
Karl smirked, his lips curling slightly, and then struck Enel several more times.
Enel trembled violently, his face contorted in agony.
He couldn't even crouch and protect his head; he was entirely at Karl's mercy.
Eventually, Enel cried out, sobbing uncontrollably.
"Waah~ You Blue Sea people, just like the Skypieans, are all a bunch of bad people!"
Enel had suffered from a lack of love since childhood. His physical structure, unlike that of regular Skypieans, meant he lacked wings.
This led to his ostracization from the Skypiean community, leaving him unable to live a normal life.
Growing up in such a harsh environment shaped his twisted worldview.
However, despite his distorted views, Enel was still young. There was still a chance to correct his beliefs.
Moreover, Enel had immense potential. Even without a Devil Fruit, with proper guidance, he could become strong in the future.
Perhaps he could even surpass his original portrayal.
At the very least, Enel, like Kuro, still had many possibilities.
Karl, over the following days, began to "train" Enel.
There were still four days left before the assembly time.
Karl's current location was not far from Enies Lobby. If he flew at a normal pace, it would take just two days.
However, Karl deliberately slowed down to further "train" Enel.
During these few days, Karl applied the same methods he used to train Ace, instilling them in Enel.
The key point was that Karl only slept three hours a day, spending the rest of the time teaching and training Enel.
This intense regimen caused Enel, initially resistant, to gradually begin to comply.
Karl's training was beginning to show results.
However, due to time constraints, Karl could not continue the training.
Karl had now arrived at the port of Enies Lobby and notified the island's authorities.
Spandam, accompanied by his father Spandine, hurried out to meet Karl.
"Mr. Karl, you've finally arrived! I've been waiting here for a long time. Would you like to eat first or rest?"
Spandine spoke obsequiously, looking rather nauseating.
"Spandine, your rank is higher than mine, so please take charge of the arrangements from here on. However, those three cannot stay here long. I need you to provide a ship and send them back to the Marine Headquarters."
Karl then canceled the Devil Fruit ability attached to the warship, and the small boat carrying the three of them immediately fell apart.
The boat had endured far more than it should have.
Had Karl not been protecting it with his abilities, it would have broken apart long before, especially when crossing the White Sea.
"Understood, I'll take care of the arrangements right away. Mr. Karl, would you like me to provide sailors?"
"Sailors aren't necessary. Those three will be fine on their own."
"No problem, leave it to me!"
Upon hearing Karl's words, Spandine quickly arranged the boat.
The new boat wasn't large, but it was definitely bigger than Karl's previous one—a more typical warship.
"Be careful on the way. If you encounter pirates, just take them out!"
"As for Enel, as I said before, make him keep doing those exercises until you reach Marine Headquarters. Do not let him stop!"
"When you arrive at Marine Headquarters, just tell them I sent you, and then find Admiral Sengoku. As for your training and missions, I've already discussed them with Sengoku."
After giving his instructions, Karl exchanged a brief look with Kuro.
Kuro nodded, signaling he understood.
Enel, shivering in the corner, dared not speak.
His gaze toward Karl was complicated, filled not just with fear, but also with other emotions.
"Don't worry, Mr. Karl! I'll make sure to get them safely to Marine Headquarters!"
Bell-merre stood at attention and saluted, speaking confidently.
Karl nodded and then watched as they boarded the ship and set off.
Once the ship was out of sight, Karl turned to face Spandine and Spandam, who had been waiting nearby.
"You should be aware of the task for this assembly, right? Tell me about it."
"According to the rules, no one can reveal the details of the mission before the assembly..."
Karl paid no mind to Spandine's words.
If he couldn't speak now, it didn't matter—one more day of waiting would make no difference.
The next day would be the assembly point, and the Marines would gather here to announce the mission.
"Since that's the case, I won't press further. Take me to rest. I've had a long journey, and I'm feeling a bit tired."
"Of course, Mr. Karl, this way."
Spandine breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing Karl's words, then led him to the luxurious dormitory on Enies Lobby to rest.
Once Karl was settled in, Spandam finally dared to speak.
"Father, why are you being so deferential to a Marine?
"You are the commander of CP9, backed by the Celestial Dragons. Why are you afraid of a Marine?"
Spandine looked at his son with confusion, while Spandam sighed deeply.
Looking at his unworthy son, Spandine spoke seriously.
"This matter is far more complicated than you think. Karl's identity is not as simple as you think.
Even he himself may not know his true identity."
