One Piece: Rising to Power as a Warlord of the Sea

Chapter 61: Chapter 61: Kaido's Fury! The Island of Ghosts Shakes

On the way, Natsu defeated Drought Jack and took the weapons from the pirate ship, but it was just a small episode. Natsu didn't take it seriously, as the real challenge was Kaido, not Jack. It wasn't even remotely a challenge.

Two days later, at the Ghost Island, Jack pitifully disembarked from a small, rickety ship he had stolen from somewhere. He walked dejectedly toward the Ghost Island castle.

"Jack! What's wrong with you?"

Jack, who had been walking quickly, frowning, intending to report to Kaido, stopped instinctively when he heard the voice. Though he appeared fearless on the outside, willing to fight anyone, there were two people in Ghost Island besides Kaido who truly terrified him: the other two of the Three Disasters—Inflame King Alber and Plague King Queen.

A large, round figure waddled out from behind. The members of the Beast Pirates quickly made way for him. The newcomer was holding a cigar, bald with a braid tied at the back of his head, and his purple lips were strikingly unconventional. He walked with a swagger, seemingly following some sort of rhythm.

This was Queen, one of the Beast Pirates' Three Disasters, a master of rhythm, singing, rapping, and also a virus research expert. He loved to sing and dance, even in battle, never forgetting to host a "concert."

"Brother Queen!"

Seeing the person, Jack lowered his head like a child being scolded. His voice was weak as he cried out in distress.

"I got beaten up!" Jack's voice was a low, whiny tone, and he looked utterly humiliated.

"Hah! Who would dare beat you up? You didn't mess with any of the other Emperors, did you?" Queen asked, slapping his head in confusion. Given Jack's stubborn and reckless nature, it wouldn't be surprising if he had provoked another Emperor.

"No, it was some brat, the new Seven Warlords appointed by the World Government! Monkey D. Natsu! Captain of the Smile Pirates!" Jack stammered, his voice shrinking even more in embarrassment.

"Ugh, you're saying you, a big guy, got beaten by a mere Seven Warlord? You're really making the Beast Pirates lose face," Queen scolded, showing no mercy. In his mind, all the talk about super newbies and their abilities to fight admirals was just exaggerated nonsense. A little brat in his teens? There was no way he could be that strong. Maybe he trained from the womb?

"Queen, what's going on?"

Inside the palace, Kaido, who had been drinking heavily, heard the noise outside and shouted in irritation, quickly taking another gulp of liquor.

"Ahh, that's good! Whoooa!"

"Kaido, this kid Jack got beaten up by the new Seven Warlord brat. Not only that, but his ship and weapons were taken too!" Queen reported nonchalantly.

"Hah! Queen, are you joking?" Kaido laughed loudly.

"No, Kaido-sama, it's true! And even my tusks got broken!" Jack's voice shrank to an almost inaudible whisper, ashamed to face Kaido. He felt like he had truly failed him.

"Pfft, hahahaha! How pathetic!" Queen laughed so hard he nearly rolled on the floor, his fat body jiggling like a ball.

"Hmph! These kids today are so arrogant, even daring to steal from me!" Kaido slammed the table, and with such force that it shattered, sending fragments flying. His Conqueror's Haki erupted, shaking the entire Ghost Island. Pirates nearby collapsed, unable to withstand the pressure, their heads ringing.

Jack: "〣(ºΔº)〣"

"Alber, you personally call Joker and have him keep an eye on this new Seven Warlord!" Kaido said after a brief pause. To him, a mere child wasn't worth his direct attention.

What Kaido didn't know was that this might be his only chance to suppress Natsu. In the future, the battle's outcome would be uncertain! After all, with the help of his special ability, Natsu's strength had been growing at a terrifying rate. It was said that people who had been apart for three days should view each other with fresh eyes.

In Dressrosa, Doflamingo received a call from Alber. A cold, masked face of Alber appeared on the transponder snail screen.

"You should know about the new Seven Warlord appointed by the World Government, Joker!"

"Heh heh heh! Alber, that brat has messed with Kaido, huh?" Doflamingo smirked, his unique laughter filling the room. His expression was sly; after all, the only reason Alber would be calling him was because Kaido was involved.

"Cut the nonsense, Joker. This isn't something you need to concern yourself with. Just do as Kaido-sama instructed. And increase the arms supply. What you've given is far from enough!" Alber's voice was cold, clearly unimpressed with Doflamingo's response.

"Heh heh heh! Understood!" Doflamingo, despite being scolded, wasn't angry. After all, Alber was a powerful figure backed by one of the Four Emperors, Kaido, which made Doflamingo unwilling to provoke him.

At sea, Natsu was still unaware that he had already caught the attention of others. Even if he knew, he wouldn't care.

In the Sea of Rebellion, Gin began recruiting crew members as per Natsu's instructions. The Seven Warlords title and Gin's immense strength quickly attracted nearly a thousand pirate recruits.

What none of the pirates expected, however, was that their first task wouldn't be fighting, but building houses and a port on the island. Natsu's plan was to create a town beneath the Qiuyu Pavilion to house his men and future traders, and establish a legitimate trading port.

In simple terms, aside from plundering pirate treasures, Natsu intended to maximize his profits under the Seven Warlords' title, operating in the open.

"Hey, brothers, we're not joining some fake Seven Warlords, right?" one pirate asked cautiously.

"I don't know, but Gin is so strong. Didn't you see him destroy a pirate ship by himself? It must be real!" another pirate answered.

"That ship was for us (ー_ー)!!" one pirate blinked, looking defeated.

"Ugh, sorry, big brother!" they quickly apologized.

"What are you all doing? Get to work moving bricks! The houses must be half-built before Natsu gets back!" Gin appeared suddenly behind them, his face dark with anger. He was scolding them for slacking off. Time to train them hard—after all, moving bricks was also a form of physical training, and Gin believed that the more they carried, the stronger they'd become, even able to throw cannonballs with their bare hands.

"Got it, Gin!" the pirates quickly bent their backs and went back to work, joining the brick-moving army.
