One Piece: Gold And Fire

The sun was shining as usual, the novelty of going to sea was definitely wearing off by now for Ragna. Even after having an entire mid-size ship for himself, he was not happy. Controlling the entire thing was a hazel. From sterling to navigation he had to do everything by himself and this was weighing hard on him.

The biggest problem with him currently though wasn't working too much or the unending boredom until he sees the next island. Nor it was the dietary budget he had to follow so he didn't gulp down his entire month of ration in a single night.

No, the biggest problem which he was facing was that he was alone on the ship. Meaning even if he sees a beautiful tropical island with lush greenery, fresh water, food and possibly pirates with bounty.

He can't enter until he wants what happened the last time to repeat. This was a big big hazel for him. So much so that he started to anchor his ship far away from any open area to dock there. Just in case another motherfucker shows up and hijacks his ship.

Sigh…

"This is the reason why people don't go to sea alone, or at least look for partners." He muttered to himself as he was lying on the deck with nothing else to do. It's been already a month since he left Logue Town and though he had many encounters with pirates who no longer exist courtesy of Sandai Kitetsu, Ragna wasn't happy.

Even after getting pirates with bounty, they didn't have much gold in their ship. Even if they had a treasure than Ragna was sure that they would bury it somewhere that no one could find it.

He got their money with a nearby marine post and he had quite a bit stored up by now but no place here had a gold shop. His system won't accept beli, only gold, and that is why he was here travelling with so much money and wasn't using it but rather looking for any island which had a gold shop or exchange his money for gold.

Of course, he didn't find any. In this era, people would hesitate to buy things like gold let alone open a gold shop. Only the big secure places like the Logue Towns had gold shops which Ragna had long left behind.

But still, he continues to train himself with minimal food intake and solitude. At least one of them wasn't that new to him. Though he had to accept that when he was with people like Tashigi, all those Marines and a few people he befriended in Logue Town, he was happy. This was just a little too lonely for him.

So this was another day, he didn't have his everyday morning ritual, some food, training and once again food and only now did he have some time to doze off when saw a sound.

*Bang…

The sound of cannon blasting rang out in his ears, making him jolt awake from his place. He all but jumped to his feet and ran to see what was going on.

Tuned out that it was a ship which was openly firing on him.

"Tsk." He let out an irritated sigh. This was nothing new, many tried to attack him in the past month. This was another one of those Pirate ships.

He rushed to the back deck of the ship as the pirate ship was currently chasing him down. Another cannon ball hurled right at his ship, with a clean slash he took out his sword and cut it down before he could with the deck.

On the far he could see a big pirate ship, many people were on board. The ship had a jolly roger which looked like a cat?

"Cat… cat pirate hmmm…"

Suddenly he felt that he was forgetting something…

He was sure that he heard something related to cats a little while back before his ship was stolen and then it hit him.

"The black cat pirates."

"That's where I was going before Buggy's men stole my ship and I had to go to the orange town. I completely forget about this pirate group…" He shook his head with disbelief.

"Whatever, now that they are here, then don't mind going anywhere from now on….Wawawawawawa…" He grinned and kept on cutting down on the upcoming attacks until the ship was close enough that he could jump aboard it.

Leaving his ship in the middle of the sea was a dangerous thing to do but he had no other option in this regard.

He had to make sure that he took care of all the Pirates in their boat without any of them entering his own while simultaneously preventing his own ship from wandering off. Tough task honestly but this wasn't the first time he was doing it.

The pirates froze for a moment, startled by the sudden appearance of the teenage swordsman.

"Who the heck are you?" one of the pirates snarled, drawing a cutlass.

"Huh, you guys are not here for me ?" Ragna almost blurted out, he thought they were targeting him considering he beat their men. 'This meeting was coincidental?'

"I'm the guy who's about to clean up this ship," Ragna replied, cracking his knuckles. It doesn't matter the reasons for their meeting, ultimately they are going down.

The first pirate lunged, but Ragna sidestepped easily, grabbing the man's arm and flipping him over his shoulder. He did it easily, his physical power off the charts, even after all this time he couldn't believe he was something like this which was only possible in superhero movies or by some of the strongest big men on earth. The pirate crashed to the deck with a loud thud, groaning in pain.

"Get him!" another shouted, and a swarm of pirates charged at Ragna all at once.

Ragna smirked. "Bad Choice if you were the first then at least you might have lived, but now there is no chance." Ranga shooked his head and slowly took out Sandai Kitsetsu from his side.

A burly pirate swung a heavy club at him, but Ragna ducked under the swing and delivered a sharp slash to the man's gut, making him collapse. Another pirate came at him with a dagger, but Ragna grabbed the man's wrist, twisted it, and sent him flying into a barrel.

The pirates kept coming, but Ragna moved like a whirlwind. He dodged strikes with ease, his fists and feet landing blow after blow.

It had only been a few months since Ragna started using a sword but his natural talent, curiosity, hard work and constant fighting in real life and dead situations have made him improve very fast.

One desperate pirate tried to fire a pistol at him, but Ragna was faster than him. He took out his own pistol and shoots the man before he could use his gun. The aim was slightly off but it still did the job, though he failed to directly kill the man but the man was stopped and that was enough for him to close the gap and cut him in two.

"Stop wasting my time, where's your captain… what was his name again… Kumo, Karo, Kola?" Ragna forgot the name of their captain, he remembered that he took his bounty paper but he's not sure where that went…

"Ha, we don't need our captain here to deal with you. Now look at this…" Said a strange-looking man with a blue hat and coat and he was also wearing red heart glasses. So strange.

There was something more on that man's chin but Ragna wasn't sure what that was, a new style or something else.

Then the man took out circular disks with a string attached to it. And started to swing it in front of Ragna.

"Ins't that similar to the hypnosis device…" Ragna thought but very quickly started to feel sleepy.

His eyes feeler like were getting heavy and the longer he looked at the man swinging that circular disk around the more he started to lose his bearings.

And that was when something even strange happened. Just when Ragna was about to drop by losing consciousness a warm burning feeling appeared in his body.

In front of him, he saw suddenly flames appearing.

Everything seemed to burn down and his body was sluggish and uncomfortable.

Something wasn't right he could feel it. His throat went dry and it felt like his skin was melting.

He knew this feeling, he had experienced this before. This is what happened all those years ago in Lost Island.

Cold sweat broke out of his back and he unknowingly started to gasp for air. He felt claustrophobic all of a sudden.

"Uhyahahaha…." Laugh the man in strange clothing and walking style.

"This is my Hypnosis, remember I'm 'One-Two' Jango." Said the man with a big smile.

Others also saw the swordsman who was giving them a hard time started to gasp for air and knew that their vice-captain's hypnosis worked. Now was the time to take care of this man.

However, none saw that at this time a pirate was getting closer to Jango who was still in the middle of hypnosis and took out a big staff from somewhere.

"This is for making me work so much…" And then the person swung the staff right at Jango's face.

*Bang.

Staff hit right at Jango's face, cracking his beloved Iconic red heart glasses and sending the man back, knocking him out in one blow.
