One Piece: Gold And Fire

Chapter 21: Chapter 21 : Black Cat Pirates [2]

A man kept on mobbing the floor of the ship until his entire body started to ache.

"Ahhh, that bastard. Who asks a newcomer to do this much work. Seriously." He can't help but grumble internally as if he spoke his thoughts out loud then he might get found out and even captured.

He wasn't the part of the crew, nor the chore boy.

He was working hard to clean the ship becuase he had to, to not get found out that he had infiltrated their ship.

Out of all the people, if he despises someone then they have to be pirates. Especially pirates like Jango who made him do so much work the first day he infiltrated the ship.

To not draw any attention to himself, he did all the work, from cleaning the toilets to washing the desk, even laundry he did it just to stay on the ship until he finds what he was there for.

It was said that the Black Cat Pirates are a very famous pirate group in the east Blue and their captain Kuro is a very dangerous man with a bounty of 16 million beli.

Surely a pirate group this famous would have significant treasure hidden in their ship right.

That is why he was here, he was after that treasure, and that was he worked so hard. He was a thief and this time around he was planning on stealing from the famous Black Cat Pirates.

However, something was strange the moment he aboard the ship, the dangerous pirate captain Kuro with a bounty of 15 million belli was nowhere to be seen. Currently, the one who was in charge of this ship was their vice-captain, One-Two Jango.

'But why? Where is their captain and what's wrong with this person and all these clothes with smells like a cat.' he grumbles once again seeing the piles of dirty unwashed and surely unhygienic clothes they expect him to wash.

"Yeah as if…"

He was just waiting for his chance to take action. A chance to get away from all these annoying pirates, especially that weirdo with glasses, and explore the ship a little.

Soon he got that chance, while he was going through his daily cleaning duty, keeping the laundry for last in the hope that he doesn't have to go through their smelly laundry and before that, he could find a chance and get out of this time with the tressure, but that was when suddenly the ship started to fire cannon balls on someone. Mostly likely another unlucky soul.

But he had nothing to do with it, this was the exact opportunity he was waiting for. So, just as the fighting started, he got out and started to look around the ship.

It was hard to search all the places on the ship for tressure in such a short time but in this case, his years of experience came to work, and he skilfully searched for all likely places where the tressure could have.

The only place which was felt was the captain's quarters which was most likely the place but hardest to get into. Now that he got the chance he immediately ran toward the Kuro's room.

However just as he thought it was locked, he didn't even hesitate before taking out a lock-picking tool and started picking the lock. Didn't take that long, only within seconds the lock was open and he got access to the place. He didn't waste any time as he could hear the fighting outside was getting louder.

He went head first to look for any treasure in Kuro's room, hidden or not, nothing went unnoticed by him. However, to his luck there was nothing.

"The hell, where is he keeping all the treasure." He couldn't help but almost explode, he had searched the entire ship by now and there was no other place where the treasure could have been hidden if not for the captain's room. After doing so much manual labour this is what he got.

Nothing…

"Arggggg." He wanted to shout but he somehow controlled himself. Now wasn't the time to think of this though, his experience kicked in and knowing that after finding no treasure he wasn't supposed to stick around for long. It's time for him to take his leave.

By the time he went out, he saw a boy who looked young but was big swinging his sword and cutting down pirates like vegetables.

He wished that he was him right now, he certainly wouldn't mind giving that Jango a piece of his mind.

But then something happened, Jango went up to the man using his hypnosis and to his disbelief, it actually worked.

The swordsman stopped and started trash around. This was the best time for him to run away. He also saw the ship the man came from. It was a mid-size ship and could be sold for a good price.

However, he wasn't sure why upon seeing the boy he just couldn't go on anymore. Maybe it was the anger on Jango about making him work so much on the ship, maybe it was his frustration to not find anything even after doing so much hard labour or it was simply the goodness of his heart that he rushed to that weirdo and struck him right on the face.

Ragna felt like he was going through hell, from the fire to the scream of the people he came to know once, everything was similar. So much so that he felt like he came back in time.

Even though after knowing that what he was seeing was nothing but his imagination and nothing more, he knew that this people were already dead, he couldn't snap out of it.

But just as quickly as it began, the vision vanished. The fire, the screams, the heat—it was all gone. Ragna blinked, his mind clearing. He looked up to see Jango lying unconscious on the deck, his nose broken and blood dripping from his face.

One of the defeated pirates nearby mumbled, "Who is that, why did he attack Vice Captain Jango. Get him.…" He said that while pointing to a certain person who was running away by now. Ragna only gives that person a glance before turning to the other pirates. He wasn't planning on leaving anytime today, though he would like to thank that one man who helped him out. Again he knew how to show his gratitude and how to pay his debts.

Ragna's fists clenched as rage bubbled up inside him. Jango's hypnosis had forced him to relive his worst nightmare. His vision burned with anger as he grabbed his sword from the deck.

"Before I start cutting you all down like a dead fish, do any of you have any last wish…," he growled, his voice low and cold.

The pirates tried to rally. Buchi and Sham, the crew's most skilled fighters, stood together, snarling. "Now it's our turn, we are the cat brothers, Buchi and Sham. Get ready too…!" They were saying but Ragna was having none of it. He didn't let them continue and went head-first into the fight.

He darted forward, his sword slashing through their weapons with ease. Buchi swung his claws, but Ragna sidestepped and delivered a powerful strike to his side, sending him sprawling. Sham tried to counterattack, but Ragna's blade cut through his defence, leaving him crumpled on the deck.

The remaining pirates screamed in terror, scattering as Ragna moved like a whirlwind of destruction. Each swing of his blade brought another pirate to their knees, his strikes precise and merciless.

Besides leaving only Jango, who by the way was unconscious right now, and that one person who helped him live, Ranga killed everyone else without mercy.

By the time he was done with all the pirates, he was huffing, completely out of breath.

For a single person to eradicate an entire pirate group was a big deal, even for him who always had been gifted with strength from a young age.

Once he was done, he briefly looked around the ship for any gold or a pirate whose bounty he could claim but upon finding nothing he just grabbed onto Jango's head and tossed him to his ship before following him.

However just as he entered his ship he found someone was already waiting for him. This person was the exact person who helped him out earlier.

"You, who are you ?" Ragna was still on guard but wasn't planning on fighting the man if not necessary.

The man upon seeing the man bring Jango with him, instead of answering he asked a question of his own.

"What you gonna do with him."

He too was a little on his guard, after all it's not every day that one sees a person destroying an entire pirate group by himself, at least not in East Blue.

(Garp is an exception)

"He had a little bounty on his head, after getting some info from him about the whereabouts of his captain, I'll hand him over to the Marines." Replied Ragna with a shrug.

"Marines… you are a bounty hunter ?" Asked the man when he heard Ragna.

"Yeah…"

"Good, what you gonna do after finding their captain ?" He asks a plan forming in his head.

"What else, I'm a bounty hunter. I'll take his bounty." Ragna just shrugged. Now getting a little irritated seeing how he wasn't getting any answers that he wanted but the man in front of him kept on asking questions.

And why he was on the is the ship ?"

"I see… " And that was when the man took out his irate rags disguise.

What Ragna saw almost paused him, instead of a man he saw a pretty girl almost his age, though of a normal size, with Orange hair.

"Nice to meet you.

I'm Nami.

What do you say about forming a short-term partnership with me…?"
