Chapter 129: Chapter 129: The Capture of the Two-Tails
"Almost there, almost there!"
Sensing the growing presence of a tailed beast, the gathered shinobi from Kumogakure braced themselves for battle.
However, Yugito Nii, being a perfect jinchūriki, possessed an exceptional sense for danger. A sudden chill coursed through her body, every hair standing on end.
Her instincts screamed: a crisis was imminent!
"Get down! Now!"
Yugito's sharp command rang out, her voice urgent and commanding.
Yet, not everyone in the Kumogakure unit shared her sensitivity. Despite her warning, many couldn't react in time. The enemy's attack was already upon them!
"Fire Release: Blast Wave Wild Dance!"
A spiraling inferno, shaped like a serpent of fire, surged forward and engulfed several slow-reacting Kumogakure shinobi.
Combining the power of his Mangekyō Sharingan's Kamui with Fire Release, Uchiha Obito unleashed one of his most devastating jutsu—a firestorm so intense it twisted space itself.
"Arghhh!"
The screams of those consumed by the flames echoed briefly before their bodies were reduced to ash.
From the shadows beyond the flames, Obito emerged, his Sharingan and Rinnegan gleaming ominously. Beside him stood Black Zetsu, his malevolent grin visible even under his sinister form.
"Who are you?!"
Yugito demanded, her body tense as she crouched low to the ground. Within her, Matatabi, the Two-Tails, stirred uneasily. The sight of Obito's Sharingan and Rinnegan sent shivers through both their spines.
"We're here for you," Obito said coldly. "Zetsu, take care of the rest."
"Understood!"
Black Zetsu's twisted laughter echoed as he lunged at the remaining Kumogakure shinobi.
Though Black Zetsu lacked combat abilities himself, he was attached to White Zetsu's original body—a formidable host.
"Wood Style: Spikes!"
A wooden spike, sharp and nearly half a meter long, shot out from White Zetsu's right arm, fusing seamlessly with his limb. Moving like a specter, Zetsu reached the Kumogakure shinobi in the blink of an eye.
Squelch!
The wooden spike plunged into a shinobi's chest. A split second later, countless thicker spikes burst outward, transforming the victim into a grotesque human pincushion.
The brutal sight demoralized the surviving shinobi, their faces pale with horror.
"Wood Style?!"
Yugito's eyes widened. The realization hit her hard—these enemies were from Konoha.
"Fighting me and still so careless?"
Before Yugito could recover, Obito appeared behind her, his Kamui propelling him through space silently. A black rod in hand, he aimed directly at her back.
"Not good!"
Like a startled wildcat, Yugito twisted her body at lightning speed, razor-sharp claws extending from her fingertips. With a sharp slash, she severed the black rod in two.
The broken pieces clattered to the ground, ringing like metallic chimes.
"Die!"
Without hesitation, Yugito swiped her claws toward Obito's masked face, her movements so precise that escape seemed impossible.
"I win," Obito said with a smirk.
Her claws made contact—or so she thought.
To her shock, her attack passed through him as though his body were made of air.
"What?!" Yugito gasped, her calm and composed demeanor shattered. She couldn't believe her eyes.
Anyone would be stunned at such a sight. Obito's Kamui was an ability so absurdly powerful that even seasoned warriors fell victim to it upon their first encounter.
Taking advantage of her surprise, Obito grabbed Yugito's arm. His Mangekyō Sharingan spun rapidly, casting a powerful genjutsu upon her.
Her chakra turned chaotic under the influence of the illusion, leaving her momentarily helpless.
Inside her mind, Matatabi tried to intervene, only to be overwhelmed by the presence of Obito's Rinnegan. The cat-like beast had no choice but to bow before its overwhelming power.
Before Yugito could recover, Obito activated Kamui once more. A distortion in space engulfed her, transporting her to the Kamui dimension.
In mere moments, the Two-Tails' jinchūriki had been captured.
Even Obito seemed surprised at how smoothly things had gone. Recovering quickly, he glanced toward Black Zetsu and the remaining Kumogakure shinobi still locked in battle.
"This… this can't be! Yugito lost so easily?!"
The remaining shinobi stared in disbelief. They had barely seen the exchange, yet their strongest protector was already gone, swallowed by a swirling black vortex.
"Nothing is impossible," Obito said, brushing dust off his cloak. His mismatched eyes radiated a chilling indifference.
"Kill him! We must rescue Yugito!"
The surviving shinobi charged Obito, abandoning their fight with Black Zetsu. Their duty was to protect their village's jinchūriki, and they refused to return to Kumogakure empty-handed.
"Perfect timing," Obito murmured. His Sharingan and Rinnegan glowed ominously.
"Kamui - Shinra Tensei!"
Combining the powers of his Mangekyō Sharingan and Rinnegan, Obito unleashed a devastating wave of twisting repulsive force.
CRACK!
The distorted force broke bones, tore limbs, and sent blood and fragments of flesh flying through the forest. The battlefield became a slaughterhouse, and the once-proud Kumogakure shinobi were reduced to corpses in mere seconds.
Obito's laughter echoed as he stood amidst the carnage. Though the strain on his eyes was immense, his maniacal grin only widened.
"Well done, Obito. Capturing the Two-Tails so effortlessly! The dream of the Infinite Tsukuyomi is closer than ever!" Black Zetsu sneered, his tone filled with mock reverence.
Obito ignored the praise. His gaze was cold, calculating.
"Soon, even Tobirama will realize it's too late," Black Zetsu continued with a sinister chuckle. "When he returns to find Kumogakure's jinchūriki gone, I wonder what face he'll make?"
"Who's there?!"
Obito froze, his body tense. A mocking laugh echoed through the clearing.
"Obito, how does it feel to use my eye?"
