Chapter 42: 42. Omae Wa Mou Shindeiru
(____- -_____)
Meanwhile, Yukio could be seen skipping in one direction across the rooftops.
More like hopping with chakra? Well, his "skips" were allowing him to cover considerably larger distances than his normal skips.
"Who are you—" a random ninja asked, but before he could even complete his statement, he found a kunai lodged in his neck, effectively silencing him.
Another ninja, who was considerably far from the now-dead ninja, had witnessed the entire scene.
What shocked him was that Yukio had thrown the kunai at normal speed—something even a genin could dodge if they weren't too distracted—yet, the guy hadn't dodged.
'Am I in a genjutsu, or was that guy in a genjutsu?' That was his last thought before he also found himself on the ground, lying in his own blood.
At least he died without lying in his piss.
Yukio made his way toward the corner of the village, near a house.
He then gathered a large amount of water and fired a Water Dragon Jutsu straight at the house.
Seals activated on the house, but suddenly they shone with light and disappeared.
The water dragon penetrated the house and headed straight for an old man who was in the middle of relieving himself.
He quickly moulded his chakra and spat out a lava dragon while jumping away from the stall.
The lava dragon was easily overpowered by the water dragon; however, it bought the old man enough time to enter his chakra mode and burn away all the mess clinging to him.
"Yo, old man, don't you have anyone at your age to help you go to the washroom? Do you have to do it all by yourself?" Yukio smirked.
Roshi was beyond angry at the moment.
He was so angry that his face couldn't even show it; it was as blank as it had been a moment ago when he was taking a shit.
"Omae wa mou shindeiru," the old man said and spat out a tailed beast bomb at Yukio.
The water dragon, which was nearly upon Roshi, evaporated as if it had never existed.
However, Yukio flickered away just before the man aimed his tailed beast bomb.
"Old man, I told you to get a caretaker; you can't even aim properly now," Yukio reappeared a few inches away, lifting both his hands and shaking his head.
His tone, words, and posture gave the complete impression that Yukio was genuinely concerned about the old man.
If a bystander who hadn't seen the beginning witnessed this, they would think Yukio was the man's grandson, worried about him.
Little did the ignorant, imaginary bystander know that the same "grandson" had aimed a B-rank supercharged jutsu at his "grandfather" while the latter was taking a shit.
Roshi launched another tailed beast bomb at Yukio, but once again, Yukio flickered away at the last second.
With his tailed beast mode active, Roshi bent slightly and dashed, appearing directly in front of Yukio, his claws aimed at the latter's head.
However, Yukio activated his Suikiri on his fingers, clashing it with Roshi's chakra-infused hands.
The clash created a sort of deadlock, yet Roshi had already moved his left leg, executing a cross-kick that Yukio blocked with his right hand, also enhanced with Suikiri.
Lava met water.
And they were evenly matched. But this was the deadlock Roshi wanted, as he began forming a tailed beast bomb in front of his mouth.
"What a suicidal man," Yukio shook his head, then suddenly increased the chakra in his Suikiri.
This broke the deadlock, allowing Yukio to bend and flicker closer to the tailed beast bomb.
Normally, overpowering a jinchuriki by increasing the chakra in one's enhancements or jutsu would be impossible.
However, Yukio's speed in supercharging his Suikiri was faster than Roshi's own chakra increase, leading to this result.
But Roshi wouldn't make the same mistake twice. He enhanced his arms and legs further, solidifying his chakra and materializing lava at triple the intensity.
This trick wouldn't work again; for it to succeed, Yukio needed another deadlock, something he was not about to attempt in his current state.
He wasn't even an S-rank, let alone fit to fight an S-rank jinchuriki.
Roshi instantly appeared above Yukio, bringing down an axe kick—only for Yukio to smirk.
Roshi's leg passed through Yukio… no, through smoke.
A large crater formed where Roshi's kick landed.
"A shadow clone," Roshi muttered.
His eyes widened as he instinctively jumped, but it was too late—a chain emerged from the ground, wrapping around his leg and pulling him down.
Soon, both his legs and then his entire body were bound by the chains.
"Adamantine chains?" Roshi muttered, eyeing the chains binding him.
He noticed a barrier had formed around him, blocking any view of the outside.
Even sound had stopped reaching him.
Roshi tried increasing his chakra output but noticed that the chains' absorption rate increased as well, so he quickly abandoned the idea. However, he didn't dare drop his chakra cloak—who knew what else these chains could do?
It would be disastrous if they could shock him or worse, which would mean game over.
The time needed to heal himself with Son Goku's chakra would be significant, and who knew if he'd even be able to, given the chains' chakra absorption, which might halt the process altogether.

Today, the Tsuchikage was having a peaceful day.
Even though his country was in tense relations with Kumo and recently Suna, he didn't mind at the moment.
All he cared about was sipping his tea.
"Sigh~ Such a wonderful day. It'd be even better if someone capable enough to become the Fourth would show up and take these headaches from me," he muttered.
The amount of work he had to do because of the conflicts between the two villages was not his cup of tea.
He'd rather sip his tea than deal with it.
He then looked toward the gates. "Ah, so enemy nins are coming to infiltrate after all. Well, hopefully, we can get some useful information from them," he said, taking another sip.
He wasn't worried; he had not one but two elite jounins ready to handle any intruders, even if they were elite jounins or, in the worst case, S-rank.
But the chances of that were low—no village would expose their trump cards and risk a war.
Also, he was technically speaking to his Anbu guards while voicing his thoughts.
He hadn't gone senile just yet.
Onoki spat out his tea as he sensed one of the elite jounin's chakra vanishing—no, more like his life force disappearing.
He quickly got out of his chair, leaping through the window to exit the building.
Iwa had just lost an elite jounin, a disaster at such a critical time.
His expression changed subtly as he reached the window.
He looked down to see a water dragon inches away, threatening to swallow him whole.
The Anbu guards were stunned; they were supposed to protect the old man in case of an ambush, yet they failed when he needed them most.
Onoki's son would have their heads if anything happened to him.
However, Onoki simply shook his head, made a one-handed seal, and spat out lava, overpowering the water dragon with ease.
The Anbu guards sighed in relief, but Onoki's eyes widened. He clasped his hands together, creating two earth clones facing in the exact opposite direction from his real body.
They faced the direction of his office, where another water dragon had come from, destroying the gate and heading for him through the gap in the window.
Quickly, the clones began weaving hand seals and prepared a particle release. But the dragon shifted upward just before the particle release activated, causing everything but the dragon's head to disintegrate.
However, the dragon's head crashed onto two Anbu guards, crushing them.
They died instantly.
Onoki wore a grim expression as he floated alongside his earth clones.
He sensed that whoever had killed one of the elite jounin had clashed with the other and was now advancing toward the village.
They were definitely a lightning specialist and an elite jounin.
This could be catastrophic, as a significant number of elite ninjas were stationed at the gate.
