Chapter 89: Healing Nagato with Sage Body and Sage Chakra

"Tobi, you're amazing! I give you a thumbs up! From now on, you're the hope of our whole village!"

After effortlessly defeating two opponents in succession, Tobi secured his position. At this moment, Uchiha Yi approached with a mischievous smile to congratulate him.

Hearing this, Obito was so startled that he nearly tripped over his own feet.

"No way! Absolutely not!"

Without even thinking, Obito firmly rejected the idea. Bringing Kakashi into the Akatsuki would only make things incredibly complicated for him.

To prevent Yi from causing further trouble, Obito quickly added, "Don't concern yourself with Kakashi—I have other plans for him! And for the record, Kakashi's surname is Hatake, not Uchiha!"

Having said that, Obito vanished into the Kamui dimension, unwilling to give Yi any more time to press the issue.

With the duels concluded and Tobi's victory secured, the crowd gradually dispersed. But the audience couldn't help but feel a lingering sense of awe.

Most had thought Tobi's space-time ninjutsu was already unmatched. But discovering he also had access to Wood Release? That was beyond shocking.

"It's shocking, isn't it?" Nagato said, managing a rare attempt at humor.

"Shocking indeed," Yi replied sincerely. "Nagato-sensei, your condition is worse than I imagined. Even without the 'cancer excuse,' I doubt you could hold out much longer."

Nagato nodded without hesitation. "You're right. My body's already reached its limit. The only thing that still concerns me is Konan. When I'm gone, she'll be all alone. But your presence, Yi, puts my mind at ease."

"Don't talk like that!" Konan interjected, her voice quivering with emotion. "Nagato, there must be something we can do! Yi, is there any way to help him?"

"Don't worry, I'm here. Everything will be fine," Yi reassured her, exuding calm confidence.

Activating his Mangekyō Sharingan, Yi seamlessly entered Sage Mode.

"Nagato-sensei, I'm going to inject some Sage Chakra into your body. Try to absorb it and, if possible, attune yourself to it. It should significantly aid your recovery," Yi explained as he condensed a sphere of Sage Chakra in his hand.

Thanks to his Mangekyō ability, Yi's Sage Mode was unlike anything the world had seen before. Unlike the standard techniques taught by the Three Great Sage Lands, Yi's Sage Chakra had unparalleled versatility.

It not only enhanced sensory abilities and physical strength but also provided extraordinary longevity, regeneration, and defense.

For Yi, the implications were profound—could this Sage Body and Chakra be a glimpse of the "true" path to immortality? Unlike the temporary power-ups offered by the Sage Lands, Yi's Sage Mode hinted at something far more permanent and transformative.

Gently, Yi pressed the sphere of Sage Chakra into Nagato's frail chest.

Nagato's eyes widened in disbelief. For the first time in years, he felt something beyond pain.

"This... this feels amazing," Nagato murmured, his voice trembling with surprise.

Watching from the side, Konan's hands flew to her mouth in astonishment. For the first time in what felt like an eternity, there was hope.

"Just keep absorbing it," Yi instructed. "This is only the beginning."
