Chapter 107: Chapter 29:No One Needs To Know!!!

Yuto walked alongside Kakashi through the grand halls of Mifune's residence, the leader of the samurai and the Land of Iron. The polished wooden floor creaked softly under their steps, and the dimly lit lanterns cast long shadows on the walls. The air smelled faintly of ink and parchment, a sign of the many official matters handled within these halls.

Earlier, after Team 7 had finished their ramen dinner, Kakashi had suddenly appeared, requesting Yuto to accompany him. Apparently, Mifune wished to speak with Yuto regarding Sora, the White Dragon.

As they walked, Kakashi casually slipped his hands into his pockets, glancing at Yuto. "So, I got the gist of what happened. You… tamed Sora?" His visible eye studied Yuto with a strange mix of disbelief and wariness.

Yuto nodded nonchalantly. "Yeah. It wasn't that big of a deal."

Kakashi felt a sweatdrop forming on his forehead. 'Not that big of a deal, he says…' He let out a slow sigh. "And by 'tamed,' you mean…?"

Yuto smirked slightly. "Well… let's just say Sora now listens to my commands without question."

Kakashi nearly tripped over his own feet. 'He just outright admitted it! This kid…' He could already imagine the chaos that would ensue if word got out that instead of a noble, destined recognition where the White Dragon had deemed Yuto worthy, the reality was that Yuto had outright brainwashed the sacred beast. The people of the Land of Iron would probably cough up blood on the spot… and then declare war on Konoha.

He groaned inwardly. 'These three kids will really be the death of me someday.'

Before long, they arrived at a grand door guarded by two samurai, their armor gleaming under the flickering torchlight. One of the samurai stepped forward and entered the room after recognizing Kakashi, while the other remained at his post. Moments later, the samurai returned and gave a short nod.

"Mifune-sama will see you now."

Kakashi and Yuto stepped inside.

The office was large but modestly furnished, with an air of discipline fitting for a samurai leader. At the center of the room, Mifune sat behind a heavy wooden desk, his expression calm yet authoritative. Several stacks of paperwork were neatly arranged in front of him, a testament to the sheer amount of work required to run a nation.

Yuto sweatdropped at the sight. 'Do all village leaders have this much paperwork? If Naruko really becomes Hokage, she's going to be buried alive in documents. Poor girl.'

Mifune cleared his throat, breaking Yuto's train of thought. "I have been wanting to meet the young man who has earned the White Dragon's recognition," he said, his tone both warm and respectful.

Yuto tensed slightly but managed a polite smile as Mifune continued. "My father, Daichi, the previous leader of the Land of Iron, spoke of how the White Dragon obeyed your commands during the battle for the secret scroll." His sharp eyes studied Yuto before he nodded approvingly. "To gain the recognition of such a divine being… That is no small feat."

Yuto chuckled awkwardly, scratching the back of his head. "Well… I guess you could say I got lucky."

'Yeah, real lucky…' he thought wryly. If Mifune ever found out that Sora had been brainwashed, there was no doubt in Yuto's mind that the samurai leader would personally try to cut him down.

Mifune gave a slight nod. "Regardless of luck, the White Dragon has chosen you, and that is an undeniable truth." He then turned to Kakashi, his expression turning serious. "Which brings me to the true purpose of this meeting."

Kakashi straightened slightly. "We're listening."

Mifune clasped his hands together. "Since the White Dragon has chosen Yuto, the Land of Iron has decided to form an alliance with Konoha."

Silence.

Kakashi's eye widened slightly, while Yuto stood frozen in place.

'Wait… what?!'

Mifune continued. "The White Dragon is a divine protector of the Land of Iron. If it has submitted to Yuto, then we shall also recognize his strength and support him by forming an alliance with Konoha."

Kakashi felt sweat gathering on his forehead. His gaze slowly shifted to Yuto, who was staring back at him with the exact same thought flashing through their minds.

'DON'T LET ANYONE FIND OUT THE WHITE DRAGON WAS BRAINWASHED!!!'

After an hour of intense discussion—where, unsurprisingly, most of the talking was done by Kakashi and Mifune—Yuto and Kakashi finally stepped out of Mifune's mansion. The cold night air greeted them, offering a refreshing contrast to the heated negotiations inside. The sky above was dotted with countless stars, but neither of them had the energy to appreciate the view.

Yuto stretched his arms with a yawn. "Man… that was exhausting."

Kakashi sighed, rubbing his temple. "Tell me about it. Negotiating an alliance with the Land of Iron wasn't exactly on my to-do list when I woke up today."

Both of them looked visibly drained. The talks had been long-winded, filled with formalities, reassurances, and agreements on the terms of the alliance. Mifune was thorough, and despite his kind demeanor, he had made it clear that the Land of Iron would not tolerate any form of deceit or betrayal.

'I really hope no one finds out about the brainwashing thing…' Yuto thought to himself as he resisted the urge to groan.

Kakashi exhaled and adjusted his headband slightly. "I'll go inform Hokage-sama about this. She'll want to know about the alliance as soon as possible."

Yuto nodded. "Sounds good. I'll head back to the inn and get some rest. The second round starts the day after tomorrow, and I want to be in top shape for it."

Kakashi waved lazily as he walked off. "Try not to cause any international incidents before then."

Yuto smirked. "No promises."

With that, both of them went their separate ways.

As Yuto strolled through the quiet streets, making his way back to the inn, he suddenly stopped in his tracks.

He had just run into someone unexpected.

Standing under the glow of a nearby street lantern was Temari.

The blonde Suna kunoichi stood there, arms crossed, her teal eyes staring at him warily. The dim light cast soft shadows on her face, highlighting the exhaustion beneath her sharp gaze.

Yuto blinked. "Oh. Hey."

Temari didn't reply immediately. She had just finished handing over the secret scroll to the proctor for the first round of the Chunin Exams. After everything she had gone through today, she had been looking forward to some peace—just a quiet moment to stargaze before heading back to the inn.

Instead, she ran into Yuto.

The Fucking GENIN who had fought a dragon, tamed said dragon, and then proceeded to cause a ridiculous explosion with his teammates that shook all three Wolf Mountains. She had heard bits and pieces about what went down, and quite frankly, she was already exhausted just from trying to survive against that absurdly powerful samurai Daichi—who, as it turned out, was the previous leader of the Land of Iron.

'Seriously… this day cannot get any worse.'

Yuto scratched the back of his head awkwardly. "So… what's up?"

Temari stared at him.

'Never mind. It just got worse.'
