Chapter 106: Chapter 28:First Round Passed!

Team 7 arrived at the gates of the village in the Land of Iron, their breaths visible in the cold air. The snow-covered streets stretched ahead, leading toward the towering exam building. Their clothes were slightly tattered from battle, but none of them looked worse for wear.

"Finally!" Naruko huffed, stretching her arms above her head. "That stupid forest was so damn cold! I thought my butt was gonna freeze off! Why didn't we summon Sora again to fly here?"

Hitomi rolled her eyes. "Maybe if you moved a little more stealthily instead of screaming every time we encountered something, you wouldn't have felt so cold. And as Yuto said, Sora is also a living being, we should let him rest after that whole battle against that explosion genin and Pedomaru."

Naruko shot her a glare. "Oh, excuse me, Princess Tomato! Maybe if you weren't so busy acting all high and mighty, we wouldn't have wasted time dealing with those ambushes form stupid genin teams who thought we are easy picking for the secret scrool after seeing our clothes!"

Hitomi twitched at the nickname. "What was that, Ramen Junkie?!"

Yuto sighed, rubbing his temple. 'Here they go again...' He turned on his heel and walked ahead. "Save the catfight for later. We still have to hand in the scroll."

The two girls scoffed at each other before following him.

As they reached the exam building, three genin teams suddenly jumped out from the shadows, their eyes gleaming with desperation.

"Hand over the scroll!" one of them barked, gripping a kunai tightly.

Naruko cracked her knuckles. "Oh, you picked the wrong people to mess with!"

Without wasting time, Team 7 engaged in a brief skirmish. Yuto sidestepped an incoming attack, disarmed an opponent, and knocked all three of them out with a precise chop to the neck. Hitomi danced between strikes with fluid grace, countering with her own attacks that left the ambushers crumpling to the ground. Naruko, meanwhile, simply bulldozed through them with sheer brute force, landing a powerful punch that sent one of the genin flying into a snowbank.

"Pathetic," Hitomi muttered as she dusted off her hands.

Naruko smirked. "Told you, they picked the wrong fight."

Yuto shook his head. "Let's go before more idiots show up."

With that, they jumped through the building's open window and landed in the exam room, where Taichi, the samurai examiner from the first round, was seated at his desk. His eyes studied them as they walked forward.

Yuto stepped up and placed the scroll on the table. "We're here to turn this in."

Taichi picked up the scroll and unsealed it. A puff of smoke filled the room, and from it emerged a small dog with sharp eyes and a no-nonsense expression. It observed Team 7, then turned to Taichi, giving a short nod.

Taichi smirked. "Congratulations, Team 7. You've passed the first round of the Chunin Exams."

Naruko's eyes lit up. "Yes! We did it!"

"But that's not all," Taichi added, his smirk widening. "Not only did you pass, but you've also broken the previous record. You completed this test in just three hours."

There was a moment of silence before realization struck.

Naruko's mouth dropped open. "Wait, seriously?!"

Hitomi blinked in surprise. "That's… impressive."

Yuto grinned. "Guess we're just that good."

Unable to contain her excitement, Naruko flung her arms around Yuto. "We're the best, Yuto!"

Yuto laughed and pulled both Naruko and Hitomi into a side hug. "Told you we'd make it."

Hitomi, though usually composed, allowed a small smile to appear as she leaned into the embrace.

Taichi watched them with amusement before clearing his throat. "The second round of the exams will begin the day after tomorrow. Until then, get some rest. Be back here at 9 AM sharp."

The trio nodded, thanking him before making their way out of the building.

The moment they stepped outside, Naruko turned to Yuto with a determined expression. "Okay, ramen time!"

Yuto chuckled. "I did promise. Let's try out the ramen here in the Land of Iron."

Naruko pumped her fist. "Yes! This is why you're the best, Yuto!"

Hitomi sighed. "I still don't understand how you can be so childish over food."

That set Naruko off. "Oh, like you're one to talk, Miss Tomato Addict!"

Hitomi's brow twitched. "Excuse me? At least tomatoes have nutritional value! Unlike your bowl of salty broth and noodles!"

"You take that back!"

The two girls began their usual bickering while Yuto, now used to their antics, simply walked ahead, unfazed.

'Some things never change…'

While Team 7 enjoyed their ramen, the scene shifted to a dimly lit house deep in the Land of Iron, where six Akatsuki members were temporarily residing.

Deidara had stars in his eyes, his hands moving animatedly as he spoke with enthusiasm. "You guys won't believe it, un! I finally found my eternal rival of explosions! That brat, the Nine-Tails Jinchūriki—she understands true art! Our battle was magnificent, a true masterpiece of destruction! Hah, Itachi, you can forget about the Nine-Tails, un. From now on, she's my target! I'll settle my score with her in an explosive duel, and my art will reign supreme!"

Sasori, who had been sitting quietly, let out a sigh and completely ignored Deidara. He had long learned that engaging in an argument about "true art" with Deidara was a waste of time.

Kisame, lounging against the wall, barely stifled a yawn. "Tch… so, you picked a fight with a bunch of kids instead of just watching them? You do know we weren't supposed to engage, right?"

Deidara huffed, crossing his arms. "Monitoring is boring, un. Besides, they were strong. And strength should be tested, right?"

Kisame snorted but didn't argue. He was too lazy to deal with Deidara's antics.

Meanwhile, on the floor, Hidan sat cross-legged within a carefully drawn ritual circle, clutching his scythe as he muttered prayers to Jashin. "Oh, Lord Jashin, bless this unholy group with more sacrifices. Give me the blood of the heathens, and I shall offer it to you in glorious pain and suffering!" He let out a chuckle, licking his lips in sadistic pleasure.

Kakuzu, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, listened to Deidara's rambling but was lost in his own thoughts. 'Those little devil brats… they've grown stronger. They managed to hold out against Deidara and even Orochimaru for thirty minutes. At their age, that's not normal.'

His gaze shifted toward Itachi, who wore his usual blank expression. But Kakuzu had been with the Uchiha long enough to know that Itachi was thinking deeply about something.

And he was right.

Itachi remained still, his Sharingan glowing softly in the dim light. Outwardly, he showed no emotion, but inside, he felt a sense of relief. 'So you've become stronger, Hitomi…'

The fact that Team 7 had managed to fight Deidara and Orochimaru for so long before backup arrived was nothing short of remarkable. They were still only twelve or thirteen, yet their teamwork and strength were already impressive.

His eyes narrowed slightly. 'It seems it's time I met you again, little sister.'

Meanwhile, in another part of the Land of Iron, a dark and foreboding room was lit only by flickering candlelight. Orochimaru sat on a throne-like chair, his eyes locked onto Kabuto, who stood before him.

"Are the seven living sacrifices arranged?" Orochimaru's voice was soft, yet it carried an undeniable weight of authority.

Kabuto smirked, adjusting his glasses. "Of course, Orochimaru-sama. The sacrifices have been prepared, and the DNA of all 7 kage ninjas have already been placed on the seals. The jutsu is ready. With the aid of the special fūinjutsu seals, there will be no need to worry about losing control. The Sound Four's cursed seals will provide the necessary reinforcement."

Orochimaru chuckled, his forked tongue running across his lips in anticipation. His eyes gleamed with malice.

"Good…" he whispered, his voice laced with excitement. "Soon, it will be time for a reunion between teacher and student."

A chilling silence filled the room as Orochimaru's words lingered in the air, setting the stage for the dark events to come.
