Chapter 108: Chapter 30:Talk With Temari!

Temari huffed, crossing her arms as she narrowed her eyes at Yuto. "What do you want?"

Yuto scratched the back of his head, offering a sheepish smile. "Nothing, just saying hi."

She let out a frustrated sigh and turned away, walking off without another word. But before she could get far, Yuto casually fell into step beside her.

Her eyebrow twitched. "Why are you following me?" she asked, irritation creeping into her tone.

"You look like you've been through a lot today. Something happen?" Yuto asked, glancing at her.

Temari shot him a small glare. "And whose fault do you think that is?"

Yuto blinked, looking around for a moment before dumbly pointing at himself. "Mine?"

Temari sighed, shaking her head. "Today's been too stressful. I don't have the energy to deal with all this crap."

Yuto nodded in understanding. "So that's why you're out at this hour? Just trying to clear your head?"

She gave a slight nod before suddenly leaping onto the rooftop of a nearby building. The snowfall had stopped, leaving the sky clear and dotted with stars. The night stretched infinitely above them, a vast canvas of shimmering lights.

Yuto followed, effortlessly landing beside her. For a while, neither of them spoke, simply gazing at the stars in companionable silence. The cold breeze brushed against them, but neither seemed to mind.

Then, out of nowhere, Temari broke the silence. "How did you get so strong?"

Yuto turned his head slightly, eyes settling on her. She wasn't looking at him—her gaze remained fixed on the night sky, a wistful expression on her face.

The way the moonlight bathed her features made her look… beautiful. It was only now that Yuto realized the anime had done her dirty—she was just as pretty as Naruko, Hitomi, and Hinata. He found himself staring, momentarily captivated.

At that exact moment, Temari turned to look at him. Their eyes met.

Temari blinked. Then, her brain caught up with their situation.

'Wait… we're alone… at night… sitting together, watching the stars… This looks like one of those cheesy romance stories where the princess falls for the knight after a date—!'

Her cheeks immediately flushed, and she shook her head, trying to dispel those ridiculous thoughts.

Yuto also snapped out of his daze and cleared his throat. "I've been training ever since I was six," he finally answered.

Temari glanced at him briefly before looking away, her fingers fidgeting slightly. "...I trained too," she admitted, her voice softer, almost regretful. "But I guess I didn't put in as much effort as you."

Her expression turned wistful again, as if lost in thought.

Yuto watched her carefully before he asked, "Is this because of your brother?"

Temari's eyes widened slightly, snapping back to reality. But before she could react, Yuto quickly added, "No need to panic. My teammate, Naruko—the blonde girl—you probably saw her. She's a jinchūriki too."

Understanding flickered across Temari's face, and for the first time, she didn't seem as guarded. "...Did she ever try to kill you?"

Yuto let out a small chuckle. "She did try to strangle me every time I stole her ramen."

A short laugh escaped Temari's lips, easing the tension in the air. "I wish my brother was as carefree as your teammate," she murmured.

A quiet moment passed between them before Yuto asked, "So… is your reason for wanting to get stronger is to defeat Gaara and knock some sense into him?"

Temari didn't answer, but her silence spoke louder than words. Yuto took that as a yes.

Looking back at the stars, he spoke again. "Even before the genin teams were formed, Naruko, Hitomi, and I were always together."

Temari turned her head slightly, watching him as he continued.

"Naruko and I have been friends since we were six. She was my first real friend. Hitomi joined us when she was eight. The three of us… we've always been inseparable."

Yuto glanced at her before continuing. "On the day of our graduation, a guy named Mizuki manipulated Naruko into stealing an important scroll. He planned to use her and then blame her for it, but Hitomi and I intervened. When he realized we were a threat, he tried to turn us against her by revealing that she was a jinchūriki."

He gave Temari a small smile. "But we didn't turn against her. We knew Naruko wasn't the beast—she was just the jailer. So the three of us beat the crap out of Mizuki instead."

He then looked at his hand, his expression growing more serious. "On our recent mission… I almost died. Naruko, for the first time, used the tailed beast's chakra to save me."

He turned back to Temari, his green eyes meeting hers. "I can't say for sure that I understand everything you've been through. But… instead of only trying to defeat Gaara and suppress him, that might not be the best option. If you really want your brother back, then you have to show him that you love him… and that you don't fear what's inside him."

Temari remained silent, her gaze shifting back to the stars.

Yuto did the same.

For a few minutes, neither of them spoke. The night air was cool, and the stars above twinkled softly.

Then, in a voice barely above a whisper, Temari murmured, "…Thank you."

The next day arrived. After their conversation, Yuto and Temari had gone their separate ways for the night, each heading off to get some rest.

Now, Yuto stood before Hitomi and Naruko, demonstrating the hand signs for the Summoning Jutsu. He had also given them his marked kunai, preparing for what was to come.

To decide who would go first, the two girls had played a round of rock-paper-scissors, and Hitomi had won. It was settled—she would perform the summoning first. When she uses the technique, Yuto would use his chakra switch ability to switch places with her kunai, bringing Naruko along with him.

Taking a deep breath, Hitomi formed the hand signs and slammed her palm onto the ground.

With a burst of smoke, she vanished.

Reacting instantly, Yuto grabbed Naruko's shoulder and switched with the kunai Hitomi had.

The three of them reappeared in an entirely new landscape.

What lay before them was breathtaking. A massive mountain stretched high into the sky, covered in lush greenery. Towering trees of all shapes and sizes filled the area, their canopies forming a dense jungle. Vibrant flowers bloomed in patches of color, their scents mixing in the fresh mountain air.

But the most striking feature was the gigantic tree at the very top of the mountain, so enormous that its upper branches disappeared into the clouds.

Hitomi, Naruko, and Yuto stood frozen, their eyes wide in awe.

Then, in the distance, Hitomi's and Yuto's eyes picked up movement—something massive shifting above the clouds.

A moment later, they spotted smaller creatures, scattered throughout the landscape. Even the smallest one was around Kakashi's height, while the largest…

The largest was hidden beyond the clouds.

Suddenly, the colossal being descended from above, its form cutting through the mist as it swooped down with incredible speed.

With a loud crash, it landed right before Team 7.

The trio tensed.

Standing before them was a giant black-feathered griffin, its sheer size comparable to Sora. Sparks of lightning crackled around its body, flashing and vanishing as the creature's piercing gaze locked onto them.

Then, it spoke.

Its voice was deep, powerful—yet unmistakably female.

"Outsiders… What is your purpose here?"

Yuto nudged Hitomi forward.

She swallowed her nervousness before stepping up. "I used the Summoning Jutsu and was brought here," she explained, her voice steady despite the tension. "Since my affinity aligns with the Griffins, I wish to form a summoning contract with you."

The griffin let out a low hum before lowering her massive head to examine Hitomi up close.

Hitomi held her ground, meeting the griffin's gaze without flinching.

After a moment, the griffin straightened. "To earn our contract," she declared, "you must first pass a test."

She then glanced at Yuto and Naruko.

"Your friends cannot help you in this."

Hitomi nodded, her eyes burning with determination.
