Chapter 4: A Little Scribbling
Lord Hokage, admired by both ninjas and civilians alike, led his forces to attack a notorious bandit den hidden in a mountain stream. While Senju Hashirama stood on the sidelines, observing, the ninjas below clashed fiercely. His intervention wasn't necessary; the skilled ninjas handled the situation, ensuring there was no need for reliance on large-scale techniques like Wood Release.
As the battle neared its conclusion, Senju Hashirama turned to his younger brother, Senju Tobirama, and asked, "Tobirama, how many bandit groups remain to be dealt with?"
Without shifting his gaze from the battlefield, Tobirama replied, "Three large groups remain. Once we finish them, we can return. As for the smaller groups, we can leave them to the others."
Hashirama beamed. "That's great! Madara's been back for a while already. Once I return, I must win big in my next gambling session!"
Tobirama's face darkened, his teeth gritting slightly. "As Hokage, you shouldn't be thinking about gambling. And stop leaving all the administrative work to me! I need time to develop ninjutsu too, you know!"
Hashirama shrugged nonchalantly. "I never wanted to be Hokage. I wanted Madara to take the role, but since neither of you wanted it, here I am. Besides, we're brothers—what's the difference who does the work? And as for your ninjutsu, most of them are forbidden techniques anyway. It's better if you slow down."
Ignoring the jab, Tobirama shifted the conversation. "Ryota is getting married to the princess when we return. You'll likely have a grandchild within the year."
Senju Ryota, Hashirama's son, lacked the immense talent of his father and uncle. He was destined to be no more than a capable jonin. His marriage to the princess had been arranged by the Fire Daimyo during Hashirama's Hokage appointment ceremony.
Hashirama's eyes lit up mischievously. "Tobirama, now that peace has settled, it's your turn. You should find someone and settle down too. If not from the Senju Clan, someone from another clan would do!"
Tobirama's face darkened completely, his patience nearing its end. If only I could beat you in a fight…
"No need," he replied tersely. "My life is dedicated to studying ninjutsu."
Hashirama muttered under his breath, grinning, "I'll have Mito help me arrange something when we get back. Hehehe."
Tobirama felt a chill creep up his spine but dismissed it as paranoia.

Outside Konoha, three young ninjas-in-training—Yamamoto Ryusei, Yamashita Shuu, and Komiya Yuki—were undergoing intense physical exercises. While Ryusei continued training effortlessly, Shuu and Yuki were sprawled on the grass, exhausted.
"Ryuusei-san," Yuki said in awe, "your stamina is incredible. You've been at it for hours without stopping."
Shuu groaned weakly. "Yeah, I feel like I'm dying already."
Ryusei chuckled, still exercising. "This is just the beginning. By tomorrow, your bodies will ache a hundred times more than today. It'll feel like you can't even breathe."
Shuu shot up, panicking. "What?! I already feel dead now! Is there anything we can do to avoid that pain?"
Ryusei smirked. "Of course. Yuki, do we still have funds from the mission?"
Yuki nodded, pulling out a pouch. "Yes, 6,800 ryo in total. Do we need it for something?"
"Perfect," Ryusei said, stopping his exercises. "Let's go buy some medicine."
The trio headed to a nearby drugstore. The shopkeeper greeted them warmly. "Ryusei, back again! What do you need this time?"
"A month's supply of medicinal herbs for two people—enough for hot baths to promote blood circulation and ease muscle pain," Ryusei said, pointing to his companions.
The shopkeeper smiled knowingly. "For them, huh? Shall I add a bit of skin-whitening herbs for the young lady?"
Ryusei considered it and nodded. "Sure, why not."
After purchasing the supplies, Ryusei explained, "Soak in a hot bath with these herbs before bed—forty minutes while doing your homework. It'll ease tomorrow's pain. After a month, your bodies will adapt, and you won't need this anymore."

While running errands, the trio stumbled upon a newly opened bookstore. Inside, Ryusei browsed the novels and muttered, "These stories are too simple… If this is what sells, I might as well write something myself."
"You're going to write a novel?" Yuki asked excitedly. "Let me read it first when you're done!"
"Sure," Ryusei agreed with a smile.
Shuu added jokingly, "Make me a powerful ninja in your story! I'll protect the world and marry a dozen ladies. Hahaha!"
Yuki smacked Shuu's head. "Have some decency!"
Ryusei smirked. "I'm not writing about ninjas. The world in my story will be far greater than ours."
