Naruto: Abnormal Ninja World

Chapter 13: Blocking The Door

Senju Tobirama spoke decisively: "The ninja academy will open in a few days. All children of eligible age can enroll to begin their path as shinobi. It's an excellent opportunity to learn."

"Then I want to learn ninjutsu," said Yamamoto Ryuusei with determination.

Uchiha Madara placed his teacup down and said, "You've passed my test. I will personally teach you ninjutsu in the future. For now, you can explore other things to develop your abilities."

Yamamoto Ryuusei considered this carefully. With Madara offering to teach him, and Yamashita Shō and Komiya Yuki's training paths already addressed, there were no immediate concerns.

He shook his head and said, "For now, there's nothing else I need."

Senju Hashirama smiled warmly. "Alright then. If you think of anything, let us know. Go home and rest for now."

Ryuusei bowed respectfully to the Hokage and the council before leaving. Meanwhile, his companions, Liu Angxing and Nami Yamamoto, busied themselves with their own tasks.

Hashirama turned to Uzumaki Mito, who sat silently reading a book. "Mito, what are you reading?" he asked curiously.

Without looking up, Mito replied, "This novel just came out. It's called Journey to the West. The story is fascinating."

Hashirama raised an eyebrow. "What's it about? Ninjas?"

Mito chuckled softly, still focused on the book. "Not exactly. The characters in this story are far more powerful. They move mountains, control the seas, and can ascend to heaven or descend to the underworld. But some of their abilities resemble ninjutsu."

"Let me see!" Hashirama said, leaning closer.

Mito pulled the book away. "No. You can buy your own copy."

Hashirama pouted, but Senju Miyuki quickly offered, "I'll get it for you, Hashirama-sama."

Hashirama handed Miyuki some money and said, "Buy three copies—just in case someone else wants one."

Soon, Miyuki returned, arms full of books. The fourth volume of Journey to the West had just been published, detailing the story of Tang Sanzang preparing to free Sun Wukong from beneath the Five Elements Mountain.

Hashirama, Tobirama, and Madara each took a copy and began reading. Hours passed as they became engrossed in the story.

When they finally looked up, Hashirama remarked, "That was amazing. I didn't realize time had passed."

Tobirama nodded. "Some of the systems described in this book are intriguing. They could even inspire Konoha's policies."

Uchiha Madara, surprisingly impressed, added, "The author is clearly knowledgeable. The depiction of heaven's governance—uniting realms to maintain order—resonates with the idea of unifying the ninja world for true peace. Hashirama, we should take action against the other villages."

Hashirama frowned. "Madara, this is just a story. Besides, look what happened to Sun Wukong when he defied heaven—he was crushed beneath a mountain for years."

Madara scoffed. "That was a mere monkey. He dared to call himself the Monkey King! Such arrogance."

Though Madara dismissed it, he secretly admired the name "Monkey King." Compared to his title, "Shinobi no Shura" (Asura of the Ninja World), the former sounded more regal.

Hashirama smiled, pointing to the book. "Well, he fought against heaven and earth, earning his title. Still, some of the abilities described do resemble ninjutsu techniques."

Madara nodded thoughtfully. "For example, the Heavenly Transformation Technique is reminiscent of the Akimichi clan's Multi-Size Jutsu. Erlang Shen's Roaring Dog reminds me of the Inuzuka clan's ninken. And his third eye and Sun Wukong's Fiery Eyes resemble the Hyuga and Uchiha clans' dōjutsu."

Tobirama, ever the skeptic, said, "The author likely isn't a ninja. His understanding of chakra nature transformations is flawed—he replaces fire, water, earth, wind, and lightning with metal, wood, water, fire, and earth. And his depiction of immortals living tens of thousands of years? Even the Sage of Six Paths couldn't live that long."

The group exchanged knowing looks, agreeing that the author must be an outsider to the shinobi world.

Hashirama suddenly transformed into an eagle using Wood Release and attempted to fly, but he quickly reverted to his original form. "Even as an eagle, I can't fly properly," he muttered, scratching his head.

Madara activated his Sharingan to analyze Hashirama's movements. "Your form isn't aerodynamic. Study actual birds' flight patterns—this could become a useful jutsu."

Hashirama nodded. "I'll keep experimenting. Maybe I could use Wood Release to mimic the Buddha's giant hands."

Madara's eyes twitched. "Are you planning to use that on me?" he grumbled.

Ignoring him, Tobirama remarked, "Some ideas from this book are worth exploring. For instance, the elixirs described could inspire new medical jutsu or ninja tools."

Hashirama suddenly grew serious. "If this book holds so much potential, should we restrict its sale? Other villages might develop these ideas first."

Tobirama shook his head. "It's too late. Anyone capable of drawing inspiration from this already has. But I'd like to meet the author. He might have more insights."

They headed to the local bookstore, where the shopkeeper, Yagyu Zangaki, trembled at the sight of the three legendary shinobi.

"Wh-what can I do for you, sirs?" Zangaki stammered.

Hashirama smiled kindly. "We'd like to know more about Miyamoto Musashi, the author of Journey to the West."

Zangaki relaxed slightly. "Oh, he's a mysterious man. He delivers manuscripts and collects his earnings monthly. He wears a ninja forehead protector, but I doubt Miyamoto Musashi is his real name."

Tobirama frowned. "A false name and likely a disguise. It'll be difficult to track him."

Zangaki hesitated, then offered, "He usually comes by on Mondays to collect his profits. Maybe you could follow him then?"

The trio exchanged glances, their curiosity deepened. "We'll wait until Monday," Tobirama decided.

As they left, Zangaki sighed in relief. Unbeknownst to the trio, Ryuusei Yamamoto—the true author—remained blissfully unaware that he had drawn the attention of Konoha's most powerful shinobi.
