My Pokemon Turned into Girls?!

Chapter 32: Chapter 32: Sabrina Joins the Team

Psychic-type moves… ineffective? This Pokémon… did it gain the Dark-type after evolving?

Staring at the drastically transformed Lairon, Alakazam's large forehead dripped with cold sweat.

Compared to her previously somewhat cute appearance, her now ferocious look was far more intimidating.

But what truly unsettled Alakazam was the ominous aura radiating unconsciously from Lairon.

It was an aura that made one feel as though their life was constantly under threat.

The Taunt effect had also ended at this moment. Not daring to hesitate for even a second, Alakazam's eyes released rainbow-colored ripples as it activated Miracle Eye.

Perhaps knowing it was too late to dodge, Lairon didn't even bother trying.

As she was marked by Miracle Eye, she raised one of her thick, black iron claws and slammed it toward Alakazam's head.

A green light flared in Alakazam's eyes as it channeled all the psychic energy it could muster to block the incoming strike.

The iron claw collided with the psychic barrier mid-air, the two forces locked in a stalemate. Under Alakazam's continuous effort, Lairon's claw seemed to be slowly pushed back.

We can win! Seeing a glimmer of hope, Alakazam's confidence grew slightly, and the light in its eyes intensified.

However, noticing Alakazam's struggle, Lairon's lips curled into a wild grin.

With a second burst of strength, her iron claw shattered the psychic barrier and struck Alakazam without hesitation.

The force of the blow nearly twisted Alakazam's head off, sending it flying across the room. With a loud crash, Alakazam's body embedded itself into the gym wall.

Looking at the fainted Alakazam in the crater, Lairon nodded in satisfaction.

That slap had merely been a test of her newfound strength—absolutely not revenge for Alakazam using Confusion to slam her into the wall during training!

With Alakazam completely defeated, Lairon raised her head and let out a triumphant roar toward the ceiling of the Saffron Gym, declaring her victory.

"How… how could this happen…?" Sabrina's Poké Ball slipped from her hand and rolled onto the floor. Her body went weak as she slumped into her seat, utterly defeated.

---

"Kazuki, your badge…"

Standing in front of Kazuki, Sabrina lowered her head, making it impossible to see her expression. In her right hand, resting at her side, was a golden disk-shaped badge representing the Saffron Gym.

With great difficulty, she raised her arm and held it out to the boy. However, her tightly clenched fist refused to open, as if letting go would mean losing something important.

"Can you… stay?"

Her trembling voice carried a hint of pleading.

Kazuki had never seen Sabrina like this before.

In their past interactions, the girl had never shown any emotion in her words, almost like a purely rational being. Because of this, he had never believed he could fulfill the plan Sabrina's mother had mentioned.

But he was wrong.

After spending so much time together, Sabrina's heart had quietly changed.

The reason she still appeared so emotionless was simply because she herself hadn't realized the change.

Since she could remember, Sabrina had lived in a room with all its doors, windows, and even the smallest cracks sealed shut. She didn't know what light was and had long grown accustomed to the darkness.

But one day, someone had roughly chiseled a hole in her wall.

Unfamiliar light streamed into the room, and she slowly approached, leaning against the wall, staring blankly at the small opening that let in a bit of warmth.

What was the point of clinging to a tiny crack that emitted a faint glow? Sabrina herself couldn't understand it, but she felt that ever since that light had entered the room, the once-empty space was no longer barren. A gentle silver glow filled every corner.

If only things could stay like this… just this much would be enough…

"I'm sorry, Sabrina. My family and I have dreams we need to pursue. I can't stay here forever."

As soon as the words left his mouth, a soft, fragrant presence crashed into his chest. Two delicate hands clung tightly to his shoulders, even tearing his clothes slightly.

A cold sensation spread across his chest, as if his shirt had been soaked by some liquid. Looking down in surprise, he saw Sabrina sobbing in his arms, fragile as a little girl who had lost her favorite toy.

"Kazuki, you liar…"

Why? Why did you show me the light, only to abandon me… and send me back to that empty world? Liar… irresponsible, big liar…

"Sabrina…"

"Wahhhh~"

"Sabrina, listen…"

"Wahhhh~"

"Sabrina, listen to me!" Kazuki suddenly cupped Sabrina's face with both hands. Tears like crystal droplets streamed down her cheeks, her red-rimmed eyes and sniffling nose making Kazuki feel an overwhelming sense of guilt.

"Well… I can't stay here forever. But, Sabrina, you can come with me."

Her sobbing stopped abruptly, and a faint light returned to her dull red eyes. Sabrina didn't speak, just stared into Kazuki's eyes, as if confirming whether his words were sincere.

"I really like you, Sabrina… So, no matter what, I'll never leave you alone. I promise."

Gently stroking Sabrina's smooth hair, Kazuki wrapped his other arm around her slender waist. Feeling the strong arms embracing her and the rapid heartbeat so close to her, Sabrina finally closed her eyes in relief, leaning against Kazuki's chest.

"But, Sabrina… if you leave with me, who will take over as the Saffron Gym Leader?"

Hearing this, Sabrina looked up, but before she could say anything, a bright light suddenly flashed beside them:

"I'll take care of the Saffron Gym from now on! Daughter, you can go with him without worry!"

A middle-aged man with a stubbly beard emerged from the light, shouting excitedly.

"…Who are you?" Kazuki looked at the overly excited man in confusion. After glancing at Kazuki and Sabrina, the man's emotions became even more uncontrollable, and he began wiping away tears.

To put it bluntly, while a beautiful girl like Sabrina crying had a certain tragic beauty, a grown man bawling like this was just disgusting!

"Wahhh, Sabrina… You've finally, finally…"

Listening to the man's wailing, Kazuki didn't notice the blush creeping onto Sabrina's cheeks. Embarrassed and angry, her eyes flashed green as she used her psychic powers to hurl the man into the hole Alakazam had made in the wall.

"Sabrina?"

"I don't know him… Kazuki, are we leaving?"

Feeling Sabrina's soft hand take his, Kazuki instinctively nodded and turned to lead her out.

Come to think of it, I feel like I've forgotten something important… What was it?

---

"So, you nearly forgot about us because you were busy flirting?" In the room, Brock and Misty, now restored to their human forms, stood in front of Kazuki, their expressions full of resentment.

"Well, it's not like that… If I hadn't beaten Sabrina, you'd still be dolls right now."

Hearing Kazuki's righteous response, though it sounded a bit annoying, they couldn't deny the logic. Brock and Misty exchanged a glance and decided to drop the topic.

"By the way, where's Ash? Hasn't he found Haunter yet?"

"No idea," Kazuki shrugged. "But even if he wanted to challenge Sabrina again to redeem himself, he can't. Sabrina just officially resigned as the Gym Leader. The next challengers will have to deal with the old man."

After everything was over, Kazuki finally learned the identity of the middle-aged man—Sabrina's father. Though he had already guessed as much before the man revealed it.

"Oh, by the way, where's the little girl Sabrina was always holding? I don't see her." Misty looked at the terrifying Sabrina, now standing obediently beside Kazuki, and suddenly remembered something, quickly asking.

A gentle voice provided the answer.

It was Sabrina's mother, who had also been freed from her doll state: "That little girl was the humanity separated from Sabrina. Because Kazuki caused such intense emotional changes in Sabrina, she regained her humanity, and the little girl simply returned to Sabrina."

After explaining, Sabrina's mother turned to Kazuki. This was the first time she had seen him from a human perspective. Her eyes scanned his slightly tense body, and she smiled warmly:

"Don't be nervous. We should be the ones thanking you. Thank you for freeing Sabrina and allowing her to live like a normal person…"

She took a few steps forward, placing a hand on both Kazuki and Sabrina's heads, and said softly:

"Kazuki, I know we don't have the right to say much, given how we neglected Sabrina in the past. But I still hope… you'll take good care of her. Please don't let her down."

After receiving Kazuki's firm nod, she turned to Sabrina:

"Sabrina, your father and I are sorry for making you miss out on the childhood you deserved. But from today onward, live your new life to the fullest. Kazuki is a good boy, and I trust him to take care of you. And…"

She leaned down, pressing her forehead against Sabrina's. Kazuki, who had experienced something similar, knew Sabrina's mother was using Telepathy to convey something to her daughter.

For some reason, Sabrina's face grew increasingly red, like a ripe apple, and her grip on Kazuki's hand tightened.

"Alright, I won't ramble anymore… Go, and have a safe journey."

After giving Sabrina a gentle kiss on the forehead, Sabrina's mother pushed her toward Kazuki.

Watching the two figures waving goodbye disappear into the light streaming through the gym doors, the middle-aged woman's face showed a relieved smile.

---

"Sabrina, I've come to challenge the Saffron Gym again! If I win, you have to release Brock and Misty!"

Ash strode into the gym with determination, his eyes scanning the room. But the girl he expected to see was nowhere in sight. Instead, sitting on the red chair reserved for the Gym Leader was a familiar face.

Ash gasped in surprise: "You're… the neighbor who lives next to Sabrina! Sir… where's Sabrina?"

The middle-aged man, who had been in a good mood and considering going easy on the kid, immediately darkened at the mention of "neighbor":

"I'm afraid Sabrina has gone on a trip. So, from now on, I'm the Gym Leader of the Saffron Gym! Don't worry, I'll give you a proper… welcome."

"Huh?!"
