My Pokemon Turned into Girls?!

Chapter 31: Chapter 31: Awakening, the Arrival of the Tyrant of Darkness

Alakazam is a Pokémon whose strength grows with age. How long the Alakazam standing on the battlefield had lived, Kazuki didn't know.

However, based on the information he had gathered from Sabrina, this Alakazam had already been an Alakazam since its younger days.

The fact that it could alter the terrain with just its Confusion spoke volumes about its power.

On Kazuki's side, aside from Hei, who was immune to Psychic-type moves, the rest of his team would struggle to face Alakazam head-on.

In other words, this battle would truly determine the outcome of the match.

The misdirection tactic couldn't be used again.

Unlike Aron, who possessed wild instincts and decisive action, Hei lacked the necessary conditions to execute such a strategy.

Moreover, Alakazam was different from Sabrina's other Pokémon. With its highly self-aware nature, it would undoubtedly minimize the risks of any erroneous commands.

They had to face this toughest challenge head-on, with no room for error.

Fortunately… for this very day, Kazuki had specifically trained Hei to learn a useful new move.

"Hei, let's use that move we secretly trained for."

"Awoo~" Hei responded with a light howl, raising her head. Her gray-black body tensed like a coiled spring, her crimson eyes locked onto Alakazam.

The first move wasn't Sand Attack?

Alakazam had expected the opponent to start with Sand Attack to obscure its vision, as they had done last time.

It didn't rush to use Miracle Eye, instead focusing on its Confusion.

The arcs of psychic energy around its body grew more intense, and the already dense psychic field became even more formidable.

It was using Calm Mind.

Due to the earlier series of setbacks, the Baton Pass strategy had failed. To eliminate all risks, Alakazam had no choice but to strengthen itself first.

While it wasn't clear what move the opponent was preparing, at this distance, Hei couldn't close the gap immediately. Even if she could, Alakazam could simply endure the attack with Reflect reducing the damage, then counterattack after using Miracle Eye.

With this plan in mind, Alakazam's eyes glimmered with a faint rainbow-colored light, a sign that it was about to use Miracle Eye.

At the same time, the Mightyena on the opposite side completed her mysterious move.

Strange ripples emanated from Hei's crimson eyes.

For a moment, Alakazam seemed to see a thought bubble above the not-so-bright wolf's head, featuring a middle finger.

What…? A sudden surge of anger welled up in Alakazam's heart, interrupting the calm focus required to maintain its status move. The rainbow light in its eyes faded.

What was going on? This inexplicable rage shouldn't have been triggered by such a crude provocation. Could it be… that move was Taunt?!

This was a move that directly influenced the mind, a malicious trick from Arceus itself. Even the calmest and most rational individuals would find themselves consumed by anger once hit by it.

It could be said that Alakazam's ability to maintain even a semblance of rationality was a testament to its mental fortitude. In this state, it couldn't possibly use Miracle Eye.

A green light flashed in Alakazam's eyes. The target of its Confusion wasn't the charging Mightyena but the ground beneath its own feet.

A massive psychic force tore open the floor, lifting a large chunk of it along with Hei, seemingly intending to fling her away.

Hei, however, wasn't about to let the opponent's plan succeed. With a swift paw strike, her seemingly fluffy paw shattered the stone slab effortlessly. She charged forward, scattering the broken debris.

Alakazam continued to use Confusion, raising stone pillars from the ground. It didn't aim to deal damage but merely to delay Hei for a moment.

Yet, Alakazam underestimated Hei's agility.

The black flash darted through the forest of stone pillars.

Even when Alakazam predicted her path and raised a pillar in advance, Hei would change direction at the last moment, effortlessly avoiding it.

In an instant, the gaping maw with sharp white fangs was almost in Alakazam's face.

Taunt prevented it from using Teleport, leaving only the thick psychic stone wall it had erected to protect itself.

"Hei, Crunch!"

The battle reached its most critical moment. Kazuki watched intently, not daring to blink, as the two Pokémon were about to collide.

As expected, the stone wall only held Hei back for a few seconds before crumbling under her charge. She pushed off the ground with her hind legs, lunging forward with her jaws wide open, aiming to bite down on Alakazam.

Her steel fangs pierced Alakazam's shoulder. The pain of shattered bones radiated through its body, making it difficult to maintain its calm expression.

The Reflect barrier had significantly reduced the damage. Even a glass cannon like Alakazam could withstand the super-effective hit without being instantly defeated. However, the effects of Taunt hadn't worn off yet. Hei only needed to land one more hit…

"Awoo?!"

Hei's pupils contracted sharply. From Alakazam's forehead, a massive energy beam erupted, engulfing her entire body. The destructive force ravaged her body, sending her flying backward.

"Hyper Beam!" Kazuki exclaimed in shock. He hadn't expected Alakazam to have such a move.

Hyper Beam was a Normal-type move, which Hei couldn't resist.

The stone wall hadn't been meant to delay Hei but to block Kazuki's view while Alakazam secretly charged the beam.

While Hyper Beam was one of the most powerful moves, it left the user in a state of exhaustion after use. Alakazam had deliberately taken Hei's Crunch to ensure the beam would hit!

"Awoo…" Like a deflated balloon, Hei fell back to the ground. The pain had been concentrated at the moment of impact, but now, her numb body could barely feel anything.

Her vision blurred, and her consciousness began to fade. She could faintly hear Kazuki calling out to her urgently, but… she no longer had the strength to respond.

She had let Kazuki down again. As the big sister had said, she was too clumsy to do anything right. But even so…

Just before her eyes closed, a final ripple emanated from her pupils. Alakazam, still in its exhausted state, couldn't dodge. Just as it was about to recover and use Recover, the Taunt effect was reapplied.

Kazuki silently returned Hei to her Poké Ball. The moment Hyper Beam had hit, he had almost given up hope of winning. But Hei, in her final moments, had seized a sliver of hope.

"Hei, rest well… We will win this!"

The Poké Ball emitted a red light, but instead of Aron, the next Pokémon to appear was Eevee, who had no offensive moves at all. What was Kazuki thinking? Was he wasting the opportunity Hei had fought so hard to create?

Confused by Kazuki's choice, Alakazam didn't hold back. A green psychic force surged toward Eevee.

"Eevee, use Calm Mind once, then Baton Pass!"

Hearing this command, Alakazam finally understood Kazuki's plan.

Calm Mind boosted Special Attack and Special Defense.

While passing on the Special Attack boost was meaningless, the enhanced Special Defense would undoubtedly increase the chances of resisting Alakazam's psychic attacks.

That Espeon… it had done something unnecessary!

Recalling how Espeon had taught Kazuki various moves, Alakazam's anger, already stoked by Taunt, flared even hotter. Without holding back, it wrapped Eevee in psychic energy and hurled her to the ground.

"Ee…vee…" The impact nearly shattered Eevee's body, but she gritted her teeth, enduring the pain to unleash Calm Mind.

Realizing it couldn't stop the Baton Pass, Alakazam gave up. Its eyes flashed brightly as it sent a psychic orb high into the air.

Future Sight, the Psychic-type move that had once forced Aron to retreat, was used once again today.

The strike from the future locked onto Aron the moment she was sent out. However, her icy blue eyes showed no fear, as cold as the steel that covered her body.

Perhaps she couldn't withstand this attack, but compared to the distant future, the immediate "present" was still undecided. She would crush that annoying opponent before the future arrived.

"It's pointless. Your Special Defense has been boosted once, but don't forget, you can only withstand 60% of my psychic power… You can't even get close to me, let alone defeat me!"

Alakazam conveyed this message through Telepathy, hoping Aron would give up voluntarily and avoid suffering severe injuries like Mightyena.

However, the response it received was a voice filled with madness: "Then come on, let's see!"

The psychic force arrived immediately after, pressing down like several mountains. Aron's metal shell creaked under the pressure, but with a roar, she took a step forward.

Not enough… It's still not enough!

Alakazam's eyes couldn't hide its shock.

That Pokémon… just yesterday during training, she couldn't withstand this level of psychic force.

How had she improved so much in just one day?

No, it wasn't sudden growth.

From some point during training, she had been deliberately hiding her true strength.

As Aron closed in, Alakazam calculated that its psychic force wouldn't be enough to delay her until Taunt wore off. Moreover… Aron had long-range attacks.

In that case, it wouldn't rely on Confusion anymore.

Alakazam, of course, had more than just Confusion as a conventional attack. It simply preferred using Confusion because it was more convenient and… safer.

Its eyes turned cold as it shifted its focus from physical attacks to mental assault—Psychic, a move that concentrated psychic energy into a devastating attack. Though less versatile, its power was significantly greater.

Aron felt an invisible steel needle pierce through her outer armor, stabbing directly into her brain. The external force gripped the needle, twisting it until it was fully embedded.

This was far more painful than a physical blow. Blood slowly seeped from her eyes as agony and dizziness tormented her. Her movements slowed, and in that moment of hesitation, the fatal crisis arrived.

The future strike descended. Though she was only a few steps away, the future arrived first.

The scene was almost identical to the previous one—an unstoppable psychic orb falling from above.

The only difference was that her shell might hold out a little longer before being crushed.

Her bloodshot icy blue eyes looked up at the descending psychic orb. Even before it fully arrived, it brought an overwhelming sense of suffocation… It was her inevitable defeat, yet again.

Perhaps it was time to face reality. Even with lofty ambitions, some things were simply impossible. There was no shame in retreating before an unchangeable future…

"Is that your wish, Aron?"

In her daze, she heard the man's voice again.

In the illusion, he smiled, reaching out to lift her higher.

That dumb dog and that cowardly fox stood beside her, covered in wounds and looking like they might collapse at any moment.

Yet, they still looked at her with trusting eyes as she stepped forward.

Really… it was embarrassing enough that her own wish needed others to push her forward.

If she retreated now, after coming this far, how could she ever face those fools who believed in her? A doomed future? An unbeatable opponent? Bullshit!

Tilting her head back, she glared at the sky.

Under the intensity of her emotions and desires, a surge of power seemed to respond, tearing through her outer shell.

A deep, all-consuming black light erupted from within.

At the same time, every Psychic-type Pokémon and psychic in the gym felt it—a surge of dark energy emanating from the center of the gym, filling them with an instinctive sense of despair.

The white psychic orb of Future Sight descended but was swallowed by the strange black light of evolution. As the light faded, what emerged was an evolved Pokémon—Lairon.

Strangely, not only had her size increased several times over, but her once silver-white armor had turned deep black.

Her icy blue eyes had turned blood red, radiating an uncontrollable fury:

"Let's begin… the next round."
