My hero academia:Am I worthy?

Chapter 5: Chapter 5.The day that will change everything

**Present Time**

After several hours of games between mother and son, the young man destined to prove the true essence of heroism was tired and wanted only to sleep. His mother understood this and actively tried to put Izuku to bed, but he, with his stubbornness, insisted that evil does not slumber and does not rest. Climbing onto the couch and striking a heroic pose, he solemnly proclaimed, deliberately breaking his voice to make it sound heroic, like All Might.

— Fear not, villain, for I am the hero who will fight everywhere — day and night. In the sky and on the water. I am not afraid of fire, I am not afraid of darkness. I fear no one! — Hearing his heroic speech, Inko beamed and shed a tear of happiness for her son.

Izuku pondered, as he wanted to give a name to his hero, but he hadn't yet figured out what to call himself or how to present himself to society. Seeing the adorable sight of Izuku standing on the couch, pausing with his hand on his chin, deep in thought, his mother decided it was the perfect time to tease her heroically inclined son.

— Such a hero doesn't even fear his own mother? — She theatrically placed the back of her hand on her forehead and closed her eyes, and within a second, Izuku's reaction was swift.

— MOM!!! Don't interrupt! What kind of hero am I if I don't even have my own superhero society that will make me known to the whole world? — Calming down from her son's reaction, Inko wanted to ask a rather delicate question. Was he ready to accept his father's quirk? Izuku hadn't seen his father since he was two, and perhaps he had forgotten him and thinks he abandoned them. Taking a deep breath, she wanted to ask her son, but a storm of thoughts was interrupted by Izuku, drawing her attention.

— I am not afraid of you, Mom; I am afraid you will cry. So, from this moment on, I promise to protect your best smile in the world. — The dam was broken, and Inko cried tears of joy, but did Izuku understand this? Of course not. He was the first to worry about his mother, sliding off the couch, approaching her, and hugging her leg.

— MOM! Who made you cry? Tell me his name, and I will ANNIHILATE him!! — A fountain of unending tears flowed down her cheeks, staining her clothes and the heroic costume of All Might that her son was wearing. Kneeling down to her son's level, she embraced the shocked Izuku, who hugged her back. With his little hands, he wrapped around her neck, looking at her with fear. Almost managing to hold back her tears, Inko joyfully said she had never heard such warm words.

— Izuku... those were the best words of my life. — Continuing to sniffle, she kept comforting her son.

— I have never heard such warm words directed at me. Even the warm words of your father don't come close to yours. I will remember these best words for the rest of my life, Izuku. — The family matriarch slightly lowered her son and looked into his tear-filled eyes, which sparkled from the accumulated tears.

— Mom, what kind of hero am I if I let you cry? I must be the hero who protects your smile and... uh... happiness? — The last word Izuku pronounced questioningly, as he had recently learned it, but none of this mattered. Even if Izuku became mute, his presence would bring happiness to Inko. Resting her head on her son's shoulder, she said the very words that ignited a fire in Izuku's heart.

— Son, it doesn't matter whether you have the title of a hero or not. For me, you are already a hero, if not a superhero. — Izuku released his mother's neck, which he had been hugging, overwhelmed by such words. He began to run around the house, jumping with happiness, glowing with a joy bright enough to illuminate the darkest corners of this world. His joy was so contagious that Inko's tears turned into a carefree smile for her four-year-old hero. Inko wondered what heroic name her son had come up with and asked him during his running around the apartment.

— Izuku, have you thought of your heroic name? — She asked her son, joyfully watching him. Izuku gave her a serious look, and Inko felt uneasy but waited for her four-year-old hero's answer.

Izuku theatrically climbed onto the table to seem taller than his mother, even though he was only shoulder-height to her while standing on a chair. But Izuku wanted it so much; who was she to oppose her son's dream?

— Ahem, ahem... He does not seek fame, does not thirst for recognition. His path is through lonely trails, where a fierce storm disperses shadows. Thunder rolls follow in his footsteps, whispers of rain, as if the storm itself took him under its wing, making him its relentless face. For I am the one who will protect and show compassion to everyone. My name is Knight of the Storm. — At such a speech, the family matriarch's jaw dropped. How can a four-year-old child compose such complex words? Inko felt proud of her son, as this was an incredible performance. During his speech, she remembered Hisashi, who had a tendency to speak like a poet and compose romantic poetic verses, which helped him attract the attention of his future wife. Like father, like son, she smirked to herself. The thought that Hisashi could come back at any moment warmed her heart. It had been almost two years since he was gone, but she was glad that he sent a decent amount of money, which covered all expenses for the expensive collectible hero figurines that Inko bought for Izuku. She spent all day with Izuku, as she didn't have to work, devoting all her time to her green-haired hero who brought her happiness. Thinking of Hisashi, Inko gathered all her will and asked Izuku about his father, but she decided to slightly change the question so as not to upset him.

— Izuku, what quirk would you like to have, dear?

— I would like to have a quirk of elemental powers, like fire or lightning, or a superpower like All Might's, to give people hope and save them from supervillains, — said Izuku, not stopping, his mouth watering. Seeing Izuku's inspired state, Inko smiled and asked one more question.

— Tell me, Izuku, if I give you a choice between my quirk and your father's quirk, which would you choose?

— Um, I would choose your quirk; it's so cool! You can attract objects, lift people, and do a lot of cool things, Mom. — Inko felt proud and sad at the same time, as he proved that he loved and admired her, but at the same time, she realized that Izuku didn't particularly love his father and didn't want anything to do with him.

— Izuku, why didn't you choose your father's quirk? I think it's strong too, "Fire Breathing." He can defeat enemies with his breath, while I have to extend my hand to activate my quirk. — Izuku thought about his mother's words and replied.

— Yes, it's cool, but I have never seen him show me how he uses it. And also, if Dad gets a sore throat, he won't be able to use it to the fullest. — At the same time, Inko felt a mix of admiration and fear because her son was so clever at just four years old, and it frightened her that he was growing up so fast.

It was evening. The streets were quiet, with only the lonely hum of cars breaking the silence. The moon in the sky illuminated the dark corners of Izuku's room, where he lay in bed, and on the edge sat Inko, reading a fairy tale to Izuku.

— And they lived happily ever after. The end.

— Wow, Mom, that was the best fairy tale of all that you've ever read, — said Izuku, as it was night, and he didn't want to ruin such an atmosphere with loud and heroic phrases like All Might's.

— Yes, son, I liked this fairy tale too. It's time to sleep, dear; tomorrow is an important day that cannot be missed. After all, tomorrow will be your first step in becoming a hero, — Inko said, stroking her son's unruly hair.

— Yes, Mom, we will get up early tomorrow. — Inko tucked the blanket around her son and kissed him on the forehead, hugging him.

— I love you too, Mom, — he hugged her back. Their hug lasted for two minutes until Inko stood up, closing the door to Izuku's room.

— Good night, son, — Inko wished her son, quietly closing the door as softly as she could.

In his room, before closing his eyes, Izuku looked at the poster of All Might, who gazed at him with pride.

— Don't worry, All Might, I promise I will become the hero this world has never seen before. You will be proud of me. — With these words, Izuku fell asleep, drifting into the realm of Morpheus, eagerly anticipating the very important day ahead in his life.

To be continued.
