Chapter 4: Chapter 4:Beginning of Hatred
"Before you stop breathing, do you have any wishes?" This sentence was meaningless, but AFO understood that the consequences of his opponent's last blow were affecting him now. It was hard for him to stay on his feet and concentrate on the opponent despite the pain he felt in his chest and organs.
Meanwhile, Toshinori thought he had lost this fight since he was unable to defeat the arch-nemesis of his mentor.
"No, this should not have happened! How could I lose like this? I never expected to lose; I am a hero and should not despair. If I had more strength, I would have defeated him. Get up, Toshinori, come on!" Internally, the young All Might blamed himself for his helplessness.
He couldn't.
He couldn't protect others, and he couldn't defeat the enemy. He was in despair, and he was afraid of himself for thinking this way. But shaking off all the negativity, he turned his face to meet the eyes of the "Symbol of Evil." Toshinori didn't know how to respond, but when he felt scared and hopeless, he always smiled, no matter what. However, the smile he could muster was bloody from the blood in his mouth. The taste of iron lingered on his tongue, and exhaling heavily, he said.
"You were not bad in battle, but do you know what sets me apart from you?" All Might asked a question that piqued even AFO's interest. But all of this was meaningless; he decided to let him speak since he was no longer a living being, adding a few minutes of life to his collection before heading to the realm of the dead.
"And what is that?" All Might smiled and replied.
"I fought with people who believe in me; I will never be alone. Your entire army and minions are held together by fear. When they stop being afraid of you, they will tear you apart like prey." Provoking AFO's anger, Toshinori began to laugh like a madman. He could no longer be stopped since these were his last moments of life.
"IF I'M GOING TO DIE, I'D RATHER DIE WITH A SMILE ON MY FACE!!!" All Might shouted with all his strength, despite the toxic response from All For One. He maintained his composure and moved towards All Might to claim his younger brother's quirk.
As soon as his hand almost touched his head, a kick from Gran Torino struck him at high speed. He was thrown back 100 meters, and he was starting to feel both irritated and annoyed by this battle, as it had dragged on longer than he had anticipated. Regeneration restored the damage done, but the blow from All Might left him with a burning pain in his chest every second, to the point where he spat blood from his mouth. Getting back on his feet, he saw three annoying figures dressed in colorful rags.
"Toshinori, can you get up?" Gran Torino asked, despite having broken legs. It was more sarcasm on his part than a genuine question about his health. But they were distracted by an explosion coming from where their main enemy was located. All For One began to levitate, and those purple portals appeared again.
"I can't even get up. I used my most powerful attack. It broke my arm and legs, but in return, I weakened him, and now he is weaker than before." All Might felt a sharp pain when he was lifted. But he didn't understand why he did it until it struck him. Gran Torino's eyes began to water, and seeing this, All Might asked himself, "Where is my mentor, Nana Shimura?" They began to fly, but All Might was in a panic for his mentor, who was nowhere to be found.
"Where is Shimura-san, Gran Torino? Where is she?!!!" All Might shouted with all his might, but in this situation, he could do nothing. The only answer to his question was a pitiful reply from his mentor.
"I'm sorry, Toshinori." Gathering enough strength, they began to fly. All Might started to scream and cry when his mentor appeared before him, glaring at All For One.
"Sorahiko, get Toshinori out of here. I will hold him off as best I can." Nana was breathing heavily, and her injuries were severe; she had been impaled by rebar in her stomach and liver. Even if she could escape with them, she would bleed to death before reaching the nearest medical point. Her knees trembled, and her breathing was irregular.
Behind them, All For One began to summon several dozen Nomu, which the current heroes could no longer handle. She stood up and pointed her finger at All Might. In a muted voice, she said so that even All Might could hear her from 20 meters away.
"Toshinori, you are next." The ground beneath Gran Torino disappeared, and both student and teacher flew into the air. All Might tried to do something but couldn't; all he could do now was scream and cry in vain.
"SENSEI, NO!!... NO... NOOO!!!" With his intact hand, he struck Gran Torino's back, but the latter no longer cared. He had lost his ally and comrade in hero work, who had become a friend. Tears streamed down his face as he said.
"Nana said we should go; she bought us some time." But All Might didn't want to listen to him. He wanted to help his mentor; he began to shout once more, but his cries were filled with despair and grief.
"WE HAVE TO HELP HER! WE CAN'T LEAVE HER ALONE WITH HIM! SHE WILL DIE!!!!" But Torino did not listen to him; he had already come to terms with the loss of his comrade and silently flew away, taking the young All Might away from the battlefield.
Nana watched the two heroes fly away. For the last time in her life, she smiled at All For One, who had gathered a small army of Nomu around him, which were significantly stronger than the previous ones.
"It's just you and me, Nana. An army of heroes couldn't stop me, so how do you plan to stop me? What do you hope for, that this cocky young man can stop me? Ahaha!" He cackled maliciously, pointing a finger at her and giving the command to the Nomu, who eagerly awaited the orders of their Dark Lord.
"Bring me her head!" Immediately, like hungry dogs, the Nomu dashed towards Nana at breakneck speed. She fought back as best she could, but she no longer had the strength to resist. Their weak spot was their brains, but she managed to defeat five of them, and while dodging the attacks, she let the first blow to her face land. Unable to endure the pain any longer, she collapsed to the ground, leaving this world forever.
The Nomu, understanding their order, began to tear into her skin and organs with animalistic ferocity. They ripped her body into pieces, leaving no trace that this had been a hero's body. Biting her bones and tearing her flesh with their dirty teeth, they tore her head off. The hero's body no longer resembled a human; it was more like an incomprehensible red mass, a reminder of Nana Shimura, save for her cloak, which was soaked in her own blood.
After finishing with her, one of the Nomu, like a loyal dog, brought Nana Shimura's head to his master. The humanoid Nomu knelt before its lord, presenting him with her head.
"Excellent work." Grabbing her by her long black hair, he began to laugh like a madman, gazing at her lifeless eyes. Blood was still dripping from her head, creating a dreadful atmosphere. And at the center of it all stood he, the "Lord of Darkness," holding the head of his enemy. Activating his pyrokinesis quirk, he watched as her head burned, consuming her hair, skin, and flesh until all that remained was a skull, relishing this sadistic act.
He then tossed the enemy's skull to the ground, shattering it into dozens of pieces, marking his victory.
Behind him, a purple portal opened, revealing the yellow eyes of Kurogiri. The minion was concerned about the state of his master, as a burn was visible on his bare chest, and his skin was covered in blood, while his breathing was very labored.
"Master, you need urgent medical attention. I will transport you to Dr. Garaki." Finishing his sentence, the portal took on a different form, shifting coordinates from the lair of the master to the laboratories of the doctor.
All For One said nothing in response and silently stepped into the portal, placing his right hand on his chest.
"Master, Master, are you alright?" the doctor asked with a concerned voice, watching the capsule with the Nomu for two minutes.
"I'm fine, my old friend. I just remembered the day I came here with those injuries." Casting a grim look at the doctor, he reflected on his state and realized it was time to finish his affairs and focus on raising his son, Izuku. He was still being sought by All Might, who desperately wanted revenge. He understood that in his current weakened state, he could not defeat him, and he needed an army to confront the current heroes who had become even stronger since quirks appeared; for this, he turned to Dr. Garaki for an army of Nomu.
"What is my current condition, doctor?" All For One asked in a concerned tone, as he had not coughed in front of Izuku and Inko to hide his trauma from his loved ones.
"Your condition is much better than a few years ago, but your health has only slightly improved. I am trying to come up with a remedy, but in several years of studying your quirk, I have not made significant progress. I'm sorry." The doctor said, lowering his head in despair because All For One, whose name was Hisashi Shigaraki, was the first to recognize his intelligence and appreciate his genius, while others mocked his ideas, calling him "the egg-headed madman." He had acknowledged him, and for the resources provided for research, Garaki owed his life to his master.
"There's no reason to despair. After all, you are trying and attempting to do something, unlike some," All For One said, observing his master without breaking eye contact. In the doctor's eyes, he read the answer he had kept but lacked the courage to voice. Over two centuries of his life, Hisashi had managed to steal so many sensory-type quirks that he felt his doctor's nervousness.
"Is something wrong?"
"Actually, there is a way to restore your previous condition."
To be continued.
