Chapter 15: Luxion (2)
"Finally, we're here," Leon said, looking at the gates. After that, he began searching through the overgrown walls of the building.
"As far as I remember, it should be somewhere here," he muttered, rummaging through a specific corner.
"I found it!" Leon exclaimed as he saw a display before him. Quickly taking out his access card, he pressed it to the screen.
The gates began to open slowly with a creaking sound.
"Wow..." Leon said, his voice split between awe and excitement.
Before them stood a huge hangar.
"My God... I've never seen anything like this in all my years of military service!" the second one said, clearly stunned. "The manga never captured the scale of this place!"
"Man, you're really annoying! Stop talking about it," the first one replied irritably. "You keep reminding me that my pathetic past life is just a story invented by some bastard!"
"Live with it. Not my problem," the second one shrugged. "I just like comparing."
"What if your story is someone else's fiction too?" the first asked provocatively, narrowing his eyes.
"No way," the second looked at him as if he were an idiot.
They silently stared at each other for a couple of minutes, but soon returned to exploring the hangar.
Eventually, their path led them to an enormous ship.
"Holy shit! This ship is bigger than two battleships from my country!" the second one exclaimed, shocked by what he saw.
"Yeah, it's huge," the first confirmed, also in awe.
They approached the entrance to the ship, and the first tried to sneak in quietly, hoping to remain unnoticed, but the second unexpectedly took control of the body and began knocking on the door.
"What the hell are you doing, you bastard?! Do you want us to die?!" the first hissed, feeling his heart drop.
"As true gentlemen, we must be polite. So I'm knocking and waiting for an invitation," the second responded nonchalantly.
The first stared at him in surprise.
"Are you an idiot?"
"No. Just wait," the second said calmly.
A second later, the door opened.
"See?" he said smugly.
"I'm not happy about this..." the first groaned, looking defeated.
"Alright, let's go in," the second suggested, still controlling the body. As he did, he casually tossed his weapon to the floor.
"Are you seriously out of your mind?! Why would you throw away your weapon? We need to be prepared, in case your words don't work!"
"Nah. Trust me, everything's gonna be fine," the second replied carelessly.
These words finally pushed the first over the edge. He lunged at the second in his mind, and a fierce struggle ensued between them. The second won—thanks to his experience in his past life, he was ten times better at hand-to-hand combat than the first.
They ventured deeper into the ship and soon found themselves before a massive suit of armor with a brightly glowing red eye.
"Here's my access card," the second said, showing it to the device.
The armor, as though analyzing the face and the owner's credentials, remained silent for a few seconds. Then its eyes blazed even brighter.
"Intruder!" the robot shouted, beginning to charge its weapons.
The first turned to the second, slowly clapping his hands.
"Wow. You're a real genius at negotiations. Here are my applause!"
