Meddling The Omniverse

Chapter 28: 28. Pulled Out

Seth opened his eyes to find himself in a hospital ward. He assumed this place to be the many hospitals his superior had connections with.

"Doctor!" faint noises were heard outside his view. He tried to turn his head only to realize it was held tightly in place, strong enough to withstand a god's might.

He was in a sci-fi med pod with his body wrapped like a cocoon. Many lenses scanned his body while robotic arms 'maintained' his condition.

Immediately a middle-aged doctor with a pot belly appeared at the corner of his sight.

"How are you feeling lad?"

Noticing how strapped even his mouth was, he stared at the man while the robotic arms still constantly mended him.

"Hehe, how silly of me. You can't move your mouth at all." the doctor chuckled in a laid-back manner

"You can just use your telepathy, Seth, I don't mind."

"Please brief me on what happened." Seth sends out his telepathic message.

"If you say so"

half an hour had passed since the doctor retold everything he knew to Seth as he administered his treatments.

Of course, Seth assisted by reporting his current body condition as his divinity is based on mastering skills, and medicine or healthcare is one of them.

Seth finally learned what happened, when he was in a trance at the view his strings of fate created. The others locked him in place with their powers, rendering him immobile.

Yet dark energies of red and purple burst from his whole being, breaking the lock and catapulting him into the plains of multiversal portals like a ragdoll.

"Your body was so violently shredded. The sight was so gruesome that one of the witnesses almost fainted."

I think that would be Eris, I should apologize to her. Seth noted himself for when they met later.

The doctor told him that the organization wasted no effort in rescuing him because they knew he was still alive. How did they know? They have their ways.

They should have found him immediately if it wasn't for the extreme spatial fluctuation that blurred Seth's exact location.

"Then we noticed multiple disturbances of fates pooling on a certain sector. We immediately knew a certain smarty-pants had meddled with them. Causing the space-time continuum of two worlds to be inaccessible for a while."

"Wait, two worlds? Did I mess them up that badly?"

"mhm," the doctor hummed in conformation while he soldered a part of his hand.

"You were immediately extracted out of that place, but to the surprise of many, only the whole glob of your soul was found."

"Do you mean the fog-like thing? That's my soul? Do others look like that too? Does that mean-"

"Whoa! Hold your horses lad." The doctor replied before answering all of them.

After research, the fog-like body was identified as his actual body in its purer form, when any fleshy parts of him were stripped away.

So if my body was a fruit, that fog was the juice, does that mean my shredded body was the fruit's husk or pulp? Seth thought.

This fog body was unique to him, other gods would be ground to dust and have their remains scattered across multiple universes if they went through what he went.

After they pulled him out, his fog body naturally condensed into a humanoid figure, showing signs of healing or repair. With this, he was immediately stuffed in a cocoon to aid in the reforming of his body.

The doctor also noted that his recovery was astonishing. It was only yesterday when they rescued him from that place and put him into this cocoon and 20% of his body had already solidified and functioned like normal.

*knock-knock* "Doctor, Mister Seth has a visitor. May he come in doctor?" It was a nurse outside.

"Sure. He is stable and conscious now."

The door opened, and a fairy made of cloud rushed in. "Sir Seth! Thank goodness you're all right!"

"Jif?" Seth telepathically asked. He recognized that child's voice well.

"Yes Sir! The moment your body was retrieved, I came here every day waiting for you to wake up!"

"Thank you Jif, that's quite thoughtful of you, but is it fine for you to do so for days?"

Jif did a cute salute, "No problemo! As your dedicated Assistant, I have to be by your side, especially in times like this! Plus everything progressing well in your realm sir, though many things require your decisions and approvals."

"Decisions and approvals?"

Realizing what he said, Jif panicked, "WAH! Don't worry sir! Those things could wait till you fully recover! Those piling works can wait!" Jif spilled the beans.

"Grr…" Seth Grunted at it, causing Jif to be surprised. Did Sir Seth grunted begrudgingly!? The accident DID something to his mind!

Seth turned towards the doctor but was hindered by the cocoon. "Doctor, can I have a monitor, a remote, and a communication device here?"

The doctor asked, "Are you going to use that for work?"

"I wanted to watch movies with it, but if work must be done, then so be it." Jif was shocked again.

Time: 5 days after being in the hospital

Outside the hospital, a small crowd of people gathered by the entrance. Jif, A few men in formal suits, and some of Seth's outsourced employees awaited Seth's release. They chatted about work and mundane things as they waited for minutes.

Jif on the lead felt guilty, after Seth started managing his realm again on his hospital bed, Jif had no time for visits due to overseeing the work.

Finally, a familiar person walked out of the hospital, the moment they saw him, they noticed something different.

"Sir Seth, your hair? Your hand?" Jif asked.

Seth's hair has changed. Previously, it was dark brown with a few strands of red hair. Now, it has become almost pitch black with slightly more red hair than before. This change made his now black hair contrasts more with his red.

What's more peculiar was his hand, Seth's left ring finger was replaced with an ethereal prosthesis colored like the starry skies.

It was made of a substance that bled out from his finger's stump. The permanently bound ring was still there, staying worn on his new sparkly finger.

The ring previously had a dark purple gem on top of it, now it was black with swathes of red actively moving around like a lava lamp.

Seth changed his finger's shape, branching out before folding into a dagger. "This mysterious object or substance is an extension of my power, a new and real part of me, it could even do this."

Jif and the employees watched as the star-studded blade glittered. Seth, happy with the attention, swung his dagger finger, flinging it in a specific direction.

The dagger sliced a falling leave in the distance, causing the others to stand in fascination at how sharp that dagger was.

"That's not all." Seth shook his finger stump and saw something flickered. It was a thin string made of that same substance, attached to the launched dagger.

"This string is a weapon of his own, but more importantly." Seth reeled his dagger like a fishing rod, making the others watch the amusing action with interest.

Finally, someone else asked curiously, "What happened to your original finger, sir?"

Seth pulled out a small jar from his coat, there was a severed finger in it. When it saw the crowd, it immediately smudged itself onto the jar's wall like a curious puppy.

"My hand involuntarily attacked a nurse. Fortunately, I fought back for control and the damage was minimized." Seth explained as he shook his finger in a jar.

"I witnessed the whole thing, at that time we were removing the bandages from his body." a voice was heard from behind, it was the doctor.

The doctor recounted how Seth pinned a nurse against a wall by tightly pinching her chin with his left hand. Fortunately, Seth's fight for control prevented her from getting scarred with five puncture wounds around her jaw.

He patted Seth back and continued, "Without hesitation, Seth swung his arm wildly to throw the nurse away to her safety. I immediately grabbed a bottle of god-level anesthetic and injected a butt load of it. Haha, you should have seen how my arm bulged with fervor!"

The others listened to the story with intrigue, which made the doctor happy.

"In the end, we found the source to be from that finger, so we had to amputate and seal it inside that jar."

"Can't you just regrow a new one?"

Hearing this, he answered, "I couldn't regrow a new finger, this body just refused to do so. I could reattach this thing back to it." Seth shook his amputated finger, "But if I do so, it will go out of control again."

Everyone couldn't understand why Seth was forced into such a situation, but if the multiversal doctor next to them didn't comment, then they could only accept it.

"Sir? Forgive me if this sounds rude, but should you wear a glove or something to hide it, I didn't mean to be rude but wouldn't that attract more attention?" one of his employees pointed out

"I'm fine with it, and I just don't want to wear them. Plus, it's versatile." Seth replied before he recalled something, "Do you where Eris is?"

"She went back to her place, doing her duty as a goddess."

"Strange, I thought she would be here since the mentoring wasn't over."

Hearing this, one of the men in black stepped forward, "Due to the many chaos, damages, and delays your action has caused sir, the higher-ups decided to let you go to their next planned job or event."

Seth accepted this with an amused expression and asked, "Was it that bad?"

Jif slipped in, "Two worlds became momentarily inaccessible, and the space-time flow of a hundred universes was disrupted."

"so I'm fired from the isekai department now?"

A man in a black suit corrected, "No sir, your isekai must go on. But from this point onward, we would like you to separate your already chosen list of applicants into two categories: those whom only 'you' must isekai, and those whom others could isekai in your place. Individuals who fell in the latter category would be picked by the isekai department for you."

"Basically, my time in the isekai department has been shortened."

"Yes, as you have said."

Seth nodded in confirmation, though with this new man, he inquired, "May I know who you are?"

They all bowed down, "Greetings Sir, we are here to deliver you to the next job the organization has planned for you."

"Wait? Right now?"

"Affirmative" they spoke as a flying limousine landed near them. One of them opened its door, beckoning Seth to enter.

Seth followed suit after saying his farewell to the rest.

After going through many wormholes and portals The limousine had brought him to a very corporate-looking building.

The men in suits help him get through their strict security before bringing him to a see-through lift.

Seth watched silently as the lift passed each floor, from the transparent doors he saw that each floor had a whole continent inside them, with billions, or even trillions of workers and staff buzzing around.

As the lift reached its destined floor, a small waiting room.

Seth and the men in suits stepped out of the lift. Seth thanked them, "Thank you for bringing me here fine gentlemen."

"It's our pleasure, please enter immediately sir, they are waiting for you."

Seth placed his hand on the door's handle but stopped midway.

He conjured a mirror in front of him and observed himself. His irises were still in that familiar cosmic star pattern, yet his clothes were very casual, just a typical shirt, jeans, and sneakers combo.

"Should I change?"

"Up to you sir."

The corridor briefly flashed white. His sneakers transformed into the combat metal shoes he usually wore and his usual lab-like coat draped over his shoulders. specks of stars arose from it as a grand constellation glistened on his coat's back.

Pieces of armor manifested over Seth's body like his chest, crotch, and knees. Magnificent pauldrons landed above his shoulders and fierce gauntlets equipped snuggly into his arm.

His ring-adorned fake finger released mystical fog all over his left arm and shoulder. Forming into a cosmic sleeve, incorporating itself into his gauntlet and pauldrons.

He had just used a part of his power to spruce up his appearance. He noticed some differences like the cosmic sleeve on his arm but he ignored it for now, "How do I look?"

"Like a God, Sir."

Seth nodded and entered the room behind the door.

"Oh my!!!"

Seth reactively flinched. He instantly found the one who said that, it was a stunning blond woman in a somewhat revealing white dress looking at him quite smitten.

The room only has a table and two chairs. And that woman was sitting on one of them.

Why does she remind me of her? Seth referred to a certain blue-haired goddess..

The blond woman wiped a bit of her drool before introducing herself, "OH sorry, hello! Are you from the other department? Let me introduce myself, I'm Ristarte, a new goddess with great potential. I was dragged here without any notice at all."

Nope, she doesn't feel that stupid… Seth thought.
