The simulation had just concluded.
Zaire glanced at the text displayed on the simulator screen.
He leapt up from his desk, clenched his fists in excitement, and let out a triumphant shout:
"An aircraft… it's finally here!"
This was the first time in all his simulations that he had obtained a large-scale vehicle from the Human Empire!
Ecstatic, Zaire dashed out of his bedroom, heading straight for the underground base.
When he arrived at the base hall, it was completely empty except for the lights.
He scanned the area, finding no trace of the Iron Man.
Once again, Zaire reviewed the options displayed on the simulator.
His gaze lingered wistfully on the power sword and combat experience before moving on.
Without hesitation, he chose the third reward.
In the next moment, before Zaire's eyes, a VOSS-Class Valkyrie armed transport aircraft, painted in desert camouflage, materialized!
Zaire broke into a wide grin.
He began circling the massive vehicle, examining it closely.
By rough estimation, the transport aircraft stood around five meters tall.
Its body alone measured an impressive 19 meters in length!
Its metallic wings, spread wide, were nearly the same length.
Attached to the junction between the wings and fuselage were massive vectored thrust turbine engines, instantly leaving a lasting impression.
As he stared at the colossal machine, weighing several tons, Zaire couldn't help but laugh.
After all, what man doesn't love a "big plane"?
Especially one that now belonged entirely to him!
Zaire quickly moved to the rear of the aircraft.
Carefully, he explored the controls until he finally activated the rear hatch.
With the sound of mechanical locks disengaging, the spacious interior of the aircraft revealed itself to Zaire.
Slowly, he stepped into the cabin, walking toward the cockpit.
The smile on his face never wavered until he sat in the pilot's seat, gripping the control stick instinctively.
Then reality hit him—hard.
While he had sat in a Valkyrie multiple times during simulations, he had no idea how to operate it!
The smile froze on Zaire's face.
Sighing, he pulled out his phone from his pocket and made a call.
"David? If you're not busy… please return to the base hall."
"My lord?"
"Uh… you'll understand once you're back."
Zaire reluctantly let go of the control stick and left the cockpit.
Roughly ten minutes later, accompanied by classical music, David appeared at the entrance to the underground tunnel.
Its eyes glowed blue, instantly spotting the massive vehicle and Zaire standing nearby.
The music stopped abruptly as David hurriedly quickened its metallic stride, approaching Zaire.
It bowed slightly and said, ["Praise the Omnissiah… My lord, is this the miracle you just created?"]
Zaire hesitated for a moment, then awkwardly nodded. "Sort of… David, can you fly this thing?"
David raised its metallic head, its glowing blue eyes locking onto Zaire.
["My lord, do you want the truth or a comforting lie?"]
"Truth or lie?" Zaire blinked in confusion.
David spread its mechanical hands and spoke earnestly:
["The truth is, I was just a construction worker during humanity's Golden Age… I can handle any building issue, but I've never flown a transport aircraft."]
"And the lie?"
Zaire took a deep breath.
["I can learn. As long as I fully understand the mechanical structure of this aircraft… I don't think it'll be much different from modern flying machines."]
David straightened its metal back slightly, a sense of pride and confidence evident even in its mechanical voice.
Hearing David's response, a smile crept back onto Zaire's face.
He patted David's metal arm encouragingly. "David, work hard… I'm counting on you to teach me how to fly this thing."
"I'm off to check on Jessica… see you later."
Without waiting for a reply, Zaire left with a smile, heading toward the medical room.
David tilted its metal head slightly, its blue eyes glowing as it scanned the Valkyrie transport aircraft.
["Alright, darling… let's see what secrets lie within you."]
David muttered softly.
---
The air in the medical room was filled with the familiar smell of hospitals—a complex mix of disinfectant and medicinal odors.
Lying on an expensive multifunctional medical bed, Jessica, with her short black hair and patient gown, was idly playing with her phone.
As soon as Zaire's tall figure entered, Jessica hurriedly tried to hide her phone, like a student caught slacking off by their teacher.
Noticing her small gesture, Zaire couldn't help but chuckle.
"I'm not that strict, Jessica. This may be a base, but it's not a military camp."
Hearing his reassurance, Jessica, her face still marked by bruises, managed an awkward smile.
Her demeanor was noticeably brighter and livelier compared to before.
Blinking, she replied softly, "Boss, I just don't want to waste time…"
Zaire stepped closer to the bed and asked warmly, "How's your recovery?"
Jessica tilted her head slightly, thought for a moment, and said, "I'm healing… and after this injury, I feel like there's more potential in my abilities."
"Oh?" Zaire raised an eyebrow, studying her curiously. "Can you elaborate? I don't know much about superpowers."
"Of course… you are, after all, the one funding my lifestyle."
Jessica's eyes sparkled with a hint of mischief.
