Marvel: Trading with Worlds

Chapter 306: C196(1)

"A human? Why doesn't she have wings on her back?"

"She doesn't seem to be from Sky Island… Is she from somewhere else?"

As Nico Robin walked through the bustling market of Angel Island, having arrived via the ladder, many Sky Island locals stared at her curiously.

It had been a long time since foreign people last visited Sky Island, and whenever they did, they would trade rare and intriguing goods.

Seeing Robin, many Sky Islanders looked at her with hopeful expressions, eager to trade with her.

However, Nico Robin couldn't read minds. She only noticed that people were staring at her with strange looks—ones that didn't seem hostile, but were still difficult to interpret.

"The boss should have told me more about Sky Island beforehand..."

She sighed inwardly. If she was going to attract attention everywhere she went, how was she supposed to investigate the Poneglyphs?

Just as she was about to start asking around about Angel Island, a squad of White Berets suddenly appeared nearby. These guards were responsible for maintaining order on Sky Island.

"Everyone!" the captain of the White Beret unit announced loudly. "We have received reports of an illegally intruding monkey on Angel Island! If anyone has any information, please report it to us immediately."

"A monkey? I don't think I've seen anything like that."

"That's right, the only outsider here is a foreign woman… but she doesn't seem to be looking to trade with us."

The White Beret captain frowned. "A foreign person? Have we received any reports of illegal entry from down recently?"

One of his subordinates quickly flipped through their records before responding. "No, Captain. They must have entered legally."

"Then it's not our concern. If this person causes any trouble, report it to us. But if you spot the illegally intruding monkey, notify us immediately—this is God's will!"

With that, the White Beret captain led his team away, crawling along the ground as they continued their search.

"Sky Islanders sure are strange..."

Robin shook her head as she watched them leave. Pushing the thought aside, she refocused on gathering information.

Meanwhile, Kain, in his phoenix form, flew directly toward Upper Yard, also known as Apayado. The island stood out from the rest of Sky Island—not made of clouds, but of solid earth.

A colossal vine twisted up into the sky from the island's center, leading to a floating cloud island. That was where Enel's shrine was located.

"I wonder if Enel is there… If not, I'll just lure him out. Then, I can trap him with Fiendfire and a barrier."

After Kain made up his mind, he finished off Animagus and then created fifteen Shadow Clones.

Even though Enel's shrine on Cloud Island wasn't small, it would take all fifteen Shadow Clones working together to cast a powerful barrier.

Otherwise, given the destructive power of the Thunder Fruit, an unprotected barrier would likely be obliterated by Enel in an instant.

The moment Kain's Shadow Clones appeared, Enel's Mantra (Observation Haki) sensed something was off. A flicker of doubt crossed his face as he muttered to himself,

"What kind of ability is this? From a bird to a human… and now, into dozens of identical bodies?"

This was definitely not a technique native to Sky Island.

His Mantra had also faltered a moment ago—something that almost never happened.

It seemed similar to a Devil Fruit power, but Enel couldn't determine whether it was Zoan or Paramecia.

Transforming from a bird to a human suggested Zoan, yet the ability to create multiple bodies felt more like a Paramecia-type power.

But in the end, Enel just laughed.

"Hahaha! No matter what Devil Fruit ability this is, it's clear this person is either after me or the shrine!"

His sudden laughter caught the attention of the surrounding priests, chief guards, and soldiers. Though they didn't fully understand the situation, they knew from Enel's words that an enemy was approaching.

"God, is there an enemy? Please allow me to destroy them!"

"God, let me handle it!"

Shura and Ohm, two of the four Divine Priests, were the first to step forward, eager for battle. Aum reacted a moment later, also volunteering to fight.

Gedatsu, the fastest to understand the situation, hesitated, biting his lip but remaining silent.

"Calm down, just wait here," Enel ordered, grabbing a banana and taking a bite. He didn't care who the enemy was or what abilities they possessed. With a smug expression, he said,

"The enemy must be from down ocean. Somehow, they've learned about the shrine and have come to challenge me—a god!Hahahaha! Let them come. Watching their hope turn into despair will be today's most entertaining event!"

Hearing Enel's words, the Divine Priests settled down, but they remained on high alert, eagerly anticipating the enemy's arrival.

Moments later, a transparent barrier suddenly formed around the shrine.

Enel, the Divine Priests, and the chief guard—all of whom possessed Mantra—were stunned. Their Mantra had been completely blocked.

Even Enel himself, whose Mantra was enhanced by the Thunder Fruit and formidable even by Grand Line standards, found his ability confined to the small shrine.

"Hahaha! Now this is interesting. I don't know what kind of Devil Fruit power this is, but I am the strongest god. Whoever this fool is, they'll soon realize just how hopeless their situation truly is!"

Before Enel could finish his arrogant monologue, a thick cloud of black smoke suddenly appeared in the sky.

It swirled downward, descending into the center of the shrine—before materializing into a human figure.

"Who's the one despairing, Enel?"

As soon as Kain finished speaking, a blazing Fiendfire Net erupted around the periphery of the barrier, completely enveloping it.
