Marvel: I Started by Containing SCPs

Chapter 269: Chapter 269

"Huh?"

Hearing the young boy call him "Mama," C-A23 was momentarily stunned.

Before he could react—

A sudden, unnatural sensation welled up inside his throat.

His neck swelled grotesquely, like an inflating balloon.

Splurt!

A hand burst out of his mouth, blood oozing through the gaps between the fingers and his lips.

Then—

Something even more grotesque happened.

The vengeful spirit, Kayako, crawled out of C-A23's body from within.

Her entire form was drenched in blood, making her even more terrifying.

C-A23 collapsed lifelessly onto the ground.

Rhodes: "What the hell?! That was disgusting!"

Brook: "Yikes! Crawling out of his mouth? That's a death I never want to experience—oh wait, I don't have organs!"

Franky: "Brook! Now's not the time for jokes!"

Robin: "Hmm… I wonder what that would feel like. Would it just make you want to vomit? My powers could probably do something similar."

Nami: "Enough, Robin! Stop talking about this!"

Ai: "Damn it! I'd rather be beaten to death than die like that! Too disgusting!"

Gen: "This is beyond horrifying… And why did she crawl out of his body? What kind of ghost is she?!"

Daigo: "No horror movie could compare to this nightmare."

Tony Stark: "Cough, what bothers me more is how she crawled out of the screen. Where did she enter the computer from? And when we reviewed the footage, she was staring at the camera, as if she predicted someone would watch it in the future! This ghost defies all logic!"

Natasha: "Ghosts aren't logical beings to begin with. Trying to understand them with common sense is useless."

Ancient One: "She can send people to past timelines—it's possible she has some way of perceiving future events. Truly an astonishing entity."

Goku: "Huh, ghosts in my world aren't like this at all. Their strength depends on how powerful they were in life."

Manigault: "I've rarely encountered spirits like this either."

Thanatos: "Far more interesting than the souls of my underworld."

As they continued discussing, the screen kept revealing more information.

"After countless sacrifices, the Containment Foundation finally uncovered the truth behind this vengeful spirit. According to investigations, she has existed for decades. When she was alive, her name was Kayako Saeki. She had a tragic childhood, deprived of parental love, making her emotionally fragile and desperate for affection."

"Growing up, she became reclusive. Perhaps this loneliness planted the seeds of darkness within her heart."

"Further investigations revealed that after marriage, she lived peacefully for a time with her husband, Takeo Saeki, and gave birth to their son, Toshio Saeki. Takeo wanted a second child, but Kayako never became pregnant again. After undergoing a medical examination, he discovered he suffered from oligospermia—low sperm count."

"This discovery filled Takeo with suspicion—he believed that Toshio wasn't his biological son. In his paranoia, he began investigating Kayako's past and found an old diary. In it, she had written about a longtime crush on her classmate, Shunsuke Kobayashi, even keeping love letters from back then. Enraged, Takeo, despite knowing Shunsuke was already married, convinced himself that Kayako had been unfaithful."

"Blinded by jealousy and rage, he brutally beat Kayako to death in a fit of domestic violence."

"Her death was the trigger. The years of loneliness, pain, and suppressed emotions exploded upon her passing, transforming her into a vengeful spirit consumed by hatred."

"The first thing she did after becoming a ghost was exact revenge—she tormented and killed Takeo, making him suffer immensely."

"But that wasn't enough."

"Her boundless hatred had no limit."

"She killed her own son, Toshio, turning him into her first servant. Then, she began slaughtering anyone who dared enter her home—whether they moved in or entered by accident. It didn't matter."

"Once someone set foot inside that house, even if they managed to escape, no matter how far they fled—Kayako would always find them and kill them. Their souls would then be trapped in the house, becoming her eternal slaves."

"The mansion had become a cursed domain—an infernal prison filled with ever-growing hatred. For decades, Kayako has reaped the lives of countless victims, her power increasing with each soul she absorbs."

"Through life-threatening investigations, we have discovered that Kayako possesses a multitude of supernatural abilities—teleportation, hair manipulation, immense physical strength, time-space distortion, mind control, mental corruption, and reality warping. She is an incredibly dangerous entity that must be contained at all costs."

"However, despite numerous attempts, the Containment Foundation failed to imprison her. Worse still, they discovered something terrifying—Kayako could breach technological barriers and kill anyone who merely learned of her existence."

"Any form of high-tech equipment was vulnerable to her, making containment even more difficult."

"Therefore, the Foundation changed their strategy—they purchased the entire area surrounding the mansion, setting up strict barriers and preventing anyone from getting close. This was the only way to halt her expansion and prevent further victims."

"Since implementing this method, the number of deaths caused by Kayako has dropped to zero. However, many still fear—what if one day, Kayako manages to escape and starts hunting for prey elsewhere?"

As the screen faded to black, an eerie silence fell over the group.

It felt like listening to a terrifying ghost story—many people let out deep breaths, relieved that it was finally over.

Bruce Wayne: "She can infiltrate technology… Is this truly just a ghost?"

Daigo: "Could Kayako be a high-density plasma energy being? That would explain how she affects electronic devices!"

Tony Stark: "That's an interesting theory! Now I'm tempted to capture a ghost for research!"

Steve Rogers: "Are you out of your mind?! That thing is too dangerous to study!"

Tony Stark: "Rogers, we need to face these threats head-on. If paranormal entities exist within the Foundation's files, then we need to develop countermeasures!"

Bruce Wayne: "I agree. Ignoring the problem won't make it go away."

Diana: "With your Yellow Lantern Ring, wouldn't you be able to deal with ghosts easily? There must be knowledge in your archives that could help."
