Chapter 51: Realization
Sophia sat back in her chair, her mind racing.
Alexander knew.
There was no other explanation.
How else could he have known about her plan to ruin Joanne's reputation?
She had thought her scheme was perfectly executed, but it had all fallen apart.
The man she hired—he was supposed to discreetly cause trouble, get close to Joanne, humiliate her. But now, he was in a hospital bed, barely clinging to life.
And the most unsettling part? Alexander's men had been the ones to deliver the punishment.
Sophia's hand trembled as she held her phone, her mind trying to connect the dots.
Who else could it be?
She bit down on her lower lip, thinking. Had he known all along?
And did he know that she was behind it?
Her plan to destroy Joanne was falling apart, and Alexander was the one pulling the strings.
Sophia stood up, pacing the room.
This wasn't over.
She couldn't afford to back down now.
She needed to take Joanne out of the way.
But the question remained: How?
She had no idea what Alexander was capable of, or how much he knew.
What if he had been watching her all along?
What if he already knew her every move, and now it was just a game to him?
Sophia clenched her fists, determination rising in her chest.
If she wanted to win, she would need to be smarter. She couldn't afford to make any more mistakes.
