Chapter 145: Miracle
About a 1000 years ago,
"Sister Victoria, please don’t go so far away from the group, we need to stick together!!!!"
In an open field where grass streched as far as the eyes could see, a young lady in a dirty yellow dress could be seen rushing away from a group of similarly dressed ladies.
"Don’t be a scardy cat Lillian, this region still belongs to our family....nothing will happen to us. Let’s explore!!!" In front of the group of young ladies. One in particular could be seen running away from the group.
Miss Victoria, the little Princess of a prominent family. A few decades ago, the prominent family took a hold of this region after a bit of a skirmish of with the original Lord. They managed to push them back and lord of a particular portion of greater eldoria.
That’s the name of the region they were currently in. Or better called The ruins of Eldoria.
"No!!! Your lord uncle has given strict orders to not go past the grassland. Please don’t go!! I’ll get in trouble!!!" The maid Lillian screamed while following the misses Victoria in an attempt to stop her.
However, this was futile. Victoria was not only above her in status, she was also above her in strength....she was a powerful level 2 mage. A genius of her time.
So she could only watch her disappear into the forest while she chased with all her might.
"Should we follow?" One of the other women in the group inquired as they watched the two silhouettes of the little mistress Victoria and her maid fade into the woods.
"Do to what? She’s more powerful than every one of us combined. She will be fine" other responded coldly clearly showing her dislike for this Victoria.
Victoria was her sister and the most obnoxious person she had met, always going against the rules and doing whatever she liked. Deplorable behaviour that was seemingly condoned by their Lord father.
But what could she do? Victoria was better than her in talent. She couldn’t hide her bitterness though.
Inside the forest
" miss Victoria!!!" The maid called out at the top of her lungs trying to find this miss Victoria.
When they entered the forest, she lost all traces of the lady suddenly. She immediately panicked. She had the responsibility of making sure that Victoria doesn’t do anything stupid while they were out.
If she failed or if something happened to Victoria on her watch, she didn’t know what might be her fate. It was scary.
"Miss Victoria!!!!" She continued calling out for Victoria until all of a sudden she heard some muffled grunts coming from Deep inside the woods.
"That’s" the maid frowned and innocently dashed directly into the forest with all her might. Some might say this move was a stupid one because she didn’t actually see her. But Lillian trusted her instincts more than anything.
The mere thought that Victoria might be in danger was terrifying to her.
(I can’t let anything happen to her,)
Forgetting her status and Victoria’s general callousness. She was truly a sweet soul that couldn’t even hurt a fly. Lillian had to protect her at all costs.
"Please help me get out of this" inside the dark forest, Victoria’s figure appeared before Lillian.
She was struggling slightly to get out of a wrap of tree roots that had miraculously wrapped around her body.
"I’m coming"
Lillian spang into action and rushed forward towards Victoria, nor caring the least bit for her own safety.
"This..." after a few seconds, of pulling at the roots and vines around Victoria Lillian frowned deeply.
The more she loosened Victoria, the more vines would surface and wrap around her. It was like the tree wanted Victoria badly for something.
"What happened?" Lillian looked Victoria dead in the eye and asked. Clearly brute force couldn’t solve this problem. They needed to fine the root of the problem or else....
"I.....was just walking around...then all of a sudden I saw a pretty flower sticking out from there. It was so pretty....it had purple glowing lines around its surface and....you know how much I love purple" Victoria began narrating what happened slowly...going from a slight sob to a full on rain of tears.
She was still a kid after all.
"Listen to me Victoria, ill get you out of here, and everything will be alright....but you have to tell me where’s the flower is" Lillian tried to console Victoria while looking for a solution.
"The flower? It fell....over there" Victoria spoke slowly while the skin on her body slowly became paler by the second.
"Okay....give me a second" Victoria looked to the floor and began scavenging for the this flower. The around was covered in vines and roots making hard to find anything....but Lillian knew she had to find it...it definitely had something to do with Victoria’s current predicament.
So she searched, high and low for the flower....but despite her best efforts she couldn’t find it.
At least that was until.
"Here..." her hand reached into a stack of vines and gently caressed the succulent petals of a flower.
"Yes!!!" Lillian shouted with excitement and rushed towards Victoria with the flower in her hand. She found it!!!
"Is that it?" Lillian looked at the pale faced Victoria and asked with worry in her eyes. She could feel Victoria’s life force slowly seeping away as she could barely maintain her consciousness.
"Yes....looks like it" Victoria nodded despite her blurry vision. She couldn’t even think straight at this point. The vines had sucked away her life force like it was water.
This was saying alot about its power because she was a mighty level 2 mage.
"Okay.....what do I do now?" Victoria muttered under her breath. Yes she had gotten the flower which Victor took. But how was she to return it?
It wasn’t like the vines were sentient or anything.
"Just take it back!!!" Lillian streched his hand forward in an attempt to return the flower. But she was met with silence as the vines slowly sucked away Victoria’s life.
At this point it became evident that this wasn’t going to work.
"No" with a short breath of helplessness, Lillian sighed. No one knew what was happening except her and it was too late to get outside help.
Who knew that on a random day like this, at a random time. Victoria would lose her life to an unknown plant in thw woods.
"Pretty....but dangerous" Lillian resigned to fate looked at the flower in her hand and marvelled at its beauty.
It was mesmerising
On a random day, at a random time and in a random place.
A change occurred.
The flower in Lillians hand began glowing with an extraordinary purple light, engulfing the region that was previously dark and glumly.
"You guys are useless!!! You let her go into devilwood forest all by herself?!!! If anything happens to her I’ll execute all of you!!!" In the grassland area next to the forest, a man with inky black hair bellowed with an angry expression on his face.
These bastards, they let his daughter go into one of the most dangerous places around the area without any supervision.....this was pure evil.
"Hmp!!!" To the side Victoria’s sister hurrmped hearing the words of their father. How was it their fault that the stupid girl went into the forest to die? Would they be able to stop her even if they tried.
"You dare?!!! Don’t think because you’re my blood that I won’t skin you alive" Seeing the way his other daughter reacted the man burst out in anger. What did he do to deserve such a dysfunctional family? She didn’t even care if her sister was alive or dead?
"Hmm?" While the man looked on in anger he felt a sonic boon erupt in the air behind him forcing him to immediately look back.
—suuuuuuu
In the sky above him the figure of a young lady with dirty yellow clothes could be observed.
flight!!!!
The sign of a level 3 mage
"Victoria?" The man’s eyes widened as he noticed his daughters figure in the hand of the lady in the skies above him.
She looked like she was half dead. Did this lady kill his daughter?
"Sire, this is the maid" one of his men rushed forward and said to the man.
"We have a level 3 mage as a maid?" The man was completely shocked, he himself was only at the peak stage of level 3. How could he have a level 3 maid?
"She needs attention" Lillian hovered to the ground and handed Victoria to a mage on the side.
She didn’t know exactly what happened in the forest....it seemed like the flower had imbued her with some sort of power that she couldnt understand.
All of a sudden she had the strength to pull out the vines from their root and she could fly!!!!
It was astonishing....but she also felt like she could do much more than just fly at the Moment.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
"So that’s what happened?" In the deep dark space Leon was transported to he said with a look of realization.
This story....it was the story of the level 5 mage of miracle.
