In an alleyway a blue portal open and out steeped two figures.

Max felt that nauseating feeling before but unlike the other time he didn't felt a headache.

When max stepped outside the portal he felt a warm feeling of nostalgia.

As for squigly she felt an alien feeling in the air.

With no warning max jump onto a rooftop and he looked on to city and max felt tears building up and he could help but yell out.

Max:I'M BACK!!!

Squigly was surprised at max's shout but she couldn't blame him.

Leviathan: my word looks like he is happy.

Squigly: well knowing what he went through he kinda has the right.

Max got down and he had an embarrassed look on his face.

Max: sorry I just thought I would never see this place again.

Squigly: I can understand why so where exactly are we?

Max: we are at the entertainment district this place is full with arcades bowling alleys and a baseball and batting cages.

Squigly: my world you really know a lot of things.

Leviathan: but we can't exactly walk around without people freaking out about me and squigly.

Max: who said we were walking?

Squigly: huh?

Max: we are taking the rooftops.

Squigly: I'm not sure if I can keep up with you I'm not that fast.

Max: I can give you a piggy back ride?

Squigly: I don't want to get in the way.

Max: you aren't trust me.

Max crouched with his hands on his back and squigly gave up and got on top of max and he took of jumping from walls and jumping from rooftops to rooftops.

While max was running squigly saw how max's world was like her own if it was more advanced and compare to her world she bearly felt the hostility in the air and this was a nice change.

After a while of parkouring through buildings max and squigly saw a shrine area and squigly saw how max had a smile on his face.

Max: mom is either gonna kill me because I worried her or hug me to the point of choking me.

Squigly: you live here?

Max: yup you see that woman with the red kimono that my mom and the green haired girl is my other little sister Mona.

Squigly saw max's mom and she was beautiful but what she didn't get was the resemblance the woman had gray hair while max has black hair.

Leviathan: don't take the wrong idea max but she doesn't look like you.

Max: I know that's because we aren't blood related.

Squigly: what happened to your biological parents.

Max stopped in his tracks and he felt a surge of rage when she asked that but he calmed down but squigly saw the shift in his body.

Max: I don't want to talk about them…. Let's go there's a back door of the shrine mom looks like she is about finished it's getting dark.

Squigly was still concerned about that shift of rage on him and she mentioned his parents but she decided to follow him.

They made it all the way to the back of the shrine but max noticed something off and he decided to do something about it.

Max: hold on.

Squigly: what is it?

Max: moline has been awful quiet i can still feel the contract between us but she is not responding.

Squigly: that does sound bad.

Max grabbed his wrist and the back of his hand had a infinity snake symbol that was glowing.

Moline materialized but she looked dizzy and max was worried that her head suffered something but then she grabbed her mouth and ran towards a bush a let out the contents of her stomach.

Max heard that if a spirit throws up the loose a fracture of there strength but since moline is an semi apex spirit her strength lost should be a little bit.

Moline walked up to her brother and she looked at the watch on his wrist like it was the plague.

Moline: do you have any idea what that thing did to my head thanks to irregular energy that you builded up I was forced back inside your skull and thanks to your brain suffering damage so did I and that really gave me a headache and when you entered that portal again it got worse thanks for the killer headache brother!!

Max: how the hell am I supposed to know that you would puke your guts out!?

Moline just let out a sigh.

Moline: whatever i manage to hear what the adult you said so I don't need the recap let's just see mom and I need to sleep.

Squigly was watching the siblings argue with each other and she honestly thought it was kinda funny.

Max decided to give moline a ride on his shoulders to let her sleep and squigly thought it was pretty adorable.

Max: come on let's keep going.

They continued there way into shrine but when they saw the shrine's back entrance max stopped squigly who was confused.

Squigly: what's wrong?

Max: just a warning this place has a territory and mom is gonna know that we are here.

Leviathan: what exactly do you mean by territory is your mom someone of status?

Max: no in my world a territory is when a lost soul or a pure soul stick around a place that they are attached to think of it like a hive the more they stay around an area it will grow to a pocket dimension that is like a completely different world.

Squigly: but how can you tell?

Max: you can't sense spiritual energy like me however I can sense Mom's energy surrounding this place people with no mastery of spiritual energy can't enter a territory they simply just walk pass it like it's not even there.

Max demonstrates by surround his arm with spiritual energy and like liquid his hand disappeared leaving a an effect that it's like putting your arm in water squigly and leviathan were awe struck by this they I've seen bizarre things but seeing this was more than surprising.

Max: try doing what I'm doing.

Squigly did as max said and extended her arm but unlike max the water like effects didn't appear.

Squigly: it didn't happen to me.

Max: like I said only exorcist or spirits can enter the territory.

Squigly: but can't you walk through it without entering it.

Max: unfortunately no mom wanted to make sure that no lost souls or any other intruders gets in our home so she put up a territory as a defense mechanism and I've used it as a training ground when I was a kid so I know my way around the traps and this includes the front too sometimes I go around the back for a longer walk and not to mention mom allows people in her territory base on spiritual signatures so it recognizes me but since I've been gone for god knows how long it probably doesn't recognize me but still put your hands on my shoulder.

Squigly did as max and she felt that energy again but she felt a warm feeling instead of the relaxing feeling of the healing it honestly felt like having a parasite and the skull girl combined into one.

Max walked into the territory and squigly was a little nervous this is a new experience for her since this isn't her world.

When she got through the territory it felt like diving in water except you didn't feel wet it was really weird but when she looked around the place was completely different instead of the entrance they were in a maze like area with stone walls

squigly looked up and she saw that the sky was like a eerie blue it really creeped her out.

Max: come on I know my way around the maze.

Squigly followed max she was still creeped out by the place.

Squigly: max.

Max: yeah.

Squigly: this is what you do as an exorcist?

Max: yup sometimes it's territories sometimes it's just run down places or just investigating something's.

Leviathan: you do investigations?

Max: I'm more like a half member sometimes I help out with investigations and sometimes I'm not needed.

Squigly: you said that the back of the shrine's blocks anyone human or otherwise from entering and those with this spiritual energy like lost souls get dragged into this place what happens to them?

Max stopped at a another direction he picked up a stone and he threw it and when it made contact with the ground it exploded reducing the stone to ashes squigly and leviathan were wide eyed at the display.

Max: this place is booby trapped if I wasn't her you probably be ashes and many other things.

Squigly/leviathan: noted

Max and squigly continued to make there way through the maze and hours have passed and max looked at the clock on his phone and it was already night time.

Max then noticed something and stopped along with squigly who noticed his watchful face.

Squigly: what's wrong?

Max didn't say anything instead he focused his senses and he felt it a projectile of fire was coming towards them he made a wall with his black arms and it managed to block it and absorb the energy of the fire ball and he recognized the signature.

Mikado: whoever you are you really entered my territory in the middle of my nighttime so if you don't mind I want to catch some sleep.

Mikado expected whoever entered her territory to be some cultist of a lost soul but when she saw the wall move she was prepare to use her fire charm to bring in the pain but instead of a cultist or a lost soul it were two people that was missing for two weeks her son max McKnight and moline.

Max: gee mom i thought you would have missed me.

Mikado was still staring at max and in another second she disappeared in a blur and mikado in the blink of in an eye was hugging her son and her daughter who was still asleep.

Mikado: do you have any idea how worried I was when I heard you disappeared I was worried that you two might have died.

Max: mom you are chocking me!!

Moline: I have a big headache I don't wanna throw up again.

Mikado let go of her adopted children and max was taking deep breaths and moline was doing in her power to stop the headache from getting worse and puke again.

Mikado: sorry but where were you two nobody could find you everyone was worried.

Max: that's a long story can it wait I just want some sleep.

Mikado then noticed squigly who felt like this woman more powerful than max guess it was true that he wasn't the strongest in his world.

Mikado: who is the girl?

Max: mom seriously can it wait I just want to sleep on my bed my real bed I might add.

Mikado took a good look at her kids and she could tell that they we're mentally tired she really wants to know what happened but she will at least give her children some time to rest.

Mikado: fine but tomorrow you will explain everything you got that?

Max: yes ma'am.

Mikado did a wave of her hands and the territory disappeared and all that was a simple Japanese looking house.

Max: boy my guys are so gonna lose it when they see me.

Max made his way towards the house mikado turned her attention towards the undead girl who felt like she was in the presence of the skull girl herself.

Mikado: so what's your name?

Squigly: it's squigly and this is leviathan.

Leviathan: pleasure.

Mikado put her hand on her chin examining squigly up and down squigly was uncomfortable being analyzed like this but she knew that if she attacked it would be a death sentence.

Mikado backed off and took a relaxed look.

Mikado: well I can tell you aren't a threat and my son seems to trust you so you can come in.

But before squigly could take a step mikado put her hand on squigly's shoulder and she let out a huge pressure of killing intent and squigly felt like the reaper was behind and she didn't dare to move a muscle.

Mikado: however if you do anything to harm my baby boy you will regret coming here do I make myself clear?

Squigly: yes ma'am.

And as if it never happened the pressure vanished and mikado was smiling like she didn't just threaten her.

Mikado: good now come in I have a spare room you can use.

Squigly couldn't tell if this woman was to faced or just overprotective but this is the woman that max considers a his real mom so maybe this is just on side of her.

Squigly: I really hope she doesn't kill me in my sleep.

Leviathan: I'm sure max would stop her if that happened he seems used to this.

Squigly stepped in and was guided towards the guest bedroom she was given pajamas and she went to sleep hoping that tomorrow wasn't as intense as today.
