Chapter 6: CH 6
S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters – Nick Fury & Natasha Romanoff
Looking at the contents of the black-and-gold diary, Nick Fury frowned deeply.
"S.H.I.E.L.D. is not really S.H.I.E.L.D."
"Blinded by those people?"
What the hell did that mean?
And if S.H.I.E.L.D. isn't safe, then who exactly could he trust right now?
A deep, uneasy feeling settled in Nick Fury's chest—a mix of paranoia and absurdity.
"Director…"
Natasha Romanoff's voice pulled him back to reality.
She looked at him as if she were about to say something, but before she could, Nick Fury suddenly waved his hand.
Under Natasha's gaze, he reached under his desk and pressed a hidden button.
In an instant, an invisible signal jamming wave covered the entire S.H.I.E.L.D. director's office, blocking all forms of electronic surveillance and outside interference.
"I don't know exactly what this diary is trying to tell us," Nick Fury said in a low, serious tone.
"But from what it says, something happened to S.H.I.E.L.D. in his parallel universe. Something bad."
He had his own theory, but even for him, it sounded too insane to say out loud.
"Let's finish reading the diary first," Nick Fury continued.
"Once we have all the information, we'll start asking the right questions."
Hearing this, Natasha Romanoff still had strong doubts, but she nodded and turned back to the diary, continuing to read.
Inside the Diary – A New Entry
If the first part of the diary was written specifically for Nick Fury and Natasha Romanoff,
To convince them and prevent them from making reckless moves too soon,
Then this next part of the diary…
Was written for Wanda Maximoff.
After all, there were three diary holders.
Su Che couldn't afford to ignore Wanda.
He was skilled at crafting emotional stories.
Unfortunately, instead of getting a fortune, a Stark Tower, or even Hammer Industries,
The system reward from his first diary only gave him ownership of a small coffee shop across the street from Stark Industries.
Not the biggest win, but still useful.
[Across from Stark Industries, there was once an ice cream shop. But now, it's a coffee shop.]
[Yes, that coffee shop belongs to me now.]
[I like sitting by the window, looking outside. It gives me a rare sense of peace and quiet.]
[I named this coffee shop 'Peach Blossom Forest'—because the first time I met Wanda, it was in a peach blossom forest.]
[At that time, Ultron had just been born, still preparing to destroy the world.]
[Back then, Wanda Maximoff and Pietro Maximoff sided with Ultron—driven by hatred for their parents' deaths and deceived by Ultron's words.]
[But in the end, the Avengers defeated Ultron, and Wanda became one of us.]
[And eventually, we… were together.]
Sokovia – Wanda Maximoff
Seeing her name appear again, Wanda Maximoff's eyes widened with curiosity.
She eagerly continued reading—
She wanted to know what happened to her in the future.
She wanted to know if she ever got revenge for her parents.
And as much as she hated to admit it—
Even if the diary annoyed her by calling her the writer's wife,
She couldn't help but be intrigued.
But then…
She saw something that truly shocked her.
"Peach Blossom Forest…?"
Her eyes flickered with surprise.
That was…
Her favorite kind of scenery.
How did the diary owner know that?
How could he know?
Her heart started racing.
Could it be that the owner of this diary… was really her future husband?
Otherwise, how would he know something so specific about her personal taste?
With new curiosity, Wanda kept reading.
Inside the Diary – Wanda's Section Continues
[The reason I opened a coffee shop is simple—it was an old dream that Wanda and I shared.]
[When we were together, I once said I wanted to own a coffee shop. She told me she wanted to open a flower shop right next to it.]
[I even joked that the coffee shop and the flower shop would be for our future daughter, and that our son would have to become a doctor or a lawyer.]
[We always spent time together, planning our future, thinking about what our family would be like.]
[But in the end… the future we dreamed of was reduced to nothing more than dust.]
Sokovia – Wanda Maximoff
"W-Who is cuddling with you?!"
"A son and a daughter?! Why is he writing this nonsense in his diary?!"
Wanda's face turned bright red.
Even as she denied it out loud…
She was already imagining what the diary's owner might look like.
After all…
Su Che might really be her future husband.
She was only fourteen, the age of curiosity, dreams, and first crushes.
So even though she tried to dismiss what was written—
A small, unexplained expectation grew in her heart.
And with that thought, she continued reading.
Inside the Diary – A Deeper Confession
[The first thought I had upon arriving in this world was to go to Sokovia and find Wanda Maximoff.]
[But… is the Wanda in this world truly my Wanda?]
[Besides, I can't do that—not only because she's just fourteen right now…]
[But also because, in this world, Wanda Maximoff and Pietro Maximoff were born with their abilities, yet remain unaware of them.]
[If the Mind Stone never awakens their powers, they might remain ordinary humans for the rest of their lives.]
[I have no right to interfere. I shouldn't decide their fate for them.]
[But I did see her. Even if I only watched from the shadows.]
[Maybe… Wanda Maximoff is my deepest regret. My last emotional connection to anything in this world.]
[But I know that the Wanda in this timeline… isn't mine to claim.]
[At least, not right now.]
Sokovia – Wanda Maximoff
Wanda froze, gripping the diary tightly.
So…
He had already seen her?
Somewhere, someone had been watching her?
A strange feeling stirred inside her.
Confusion.
Curiosity.
A bit of… something else.
Wanda Maximoff took a deep breath.
