Keeping a Diary in (Marvel )

Chapter 7: CH 7

Sokovia – Wanda Maximoff

As Wanda Maximoff read the diary, her eyes lit up.

She and Pietro would have superpowers in the future?

Didn't that mean they would have the chance to find that damn Tony Stark and avenge their parents?

However… according to the diary, their abilities needed something called the Mind Stone to be awakened.

Mind Stone?

It clearly wasn't some common gemstone like ruby or sapphire.

She really wanted to ask Baron Wolfgang von Strucker—he would probably know what the Mind Stone was.

But…

The diary's contents couldn't be revealed to non-holders.

She had tried telling Pietro about it the first time she got the diary…

Only to feel a terrifying heart palpitation, like a warning of death itself.

That feeling…

It was absolutely horrifying.

Still, what kind of superpowers would she and Pietro have?

She was so excited to find out!

"This guy, Su Che, is so annoying!"

He wrote so much nonsense, but not the most important details.

Really!

If she met him in the future and really became his girlfriend…

She swore she'd ignore him for three days straight!

S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters – Nick Fury's Office

Back at S.H.I.E.L.D., inside Nick Fury's office—

"Director, I don't think we need to waste time searching for the diary's owner anymore."

"He literally wrote his location in the diary—his coffee shop is right across from Stark Industries in Manhattan."

Saying this, Natasha Romanoff looked at Nick Fury and asked,

"So, Director, do you want me to go meet him, or should I bring a team and 'escort' him here?"

"No."

Nick Fury waved his hand, thinking for a few moments before speaking.

"Obviously, the owner of the diary, Su Che, doesn't trust S.H.I.E.L.D."

"Or, more specifically, he doesn't trust the current S.H.I.E.L.D."

"I still don't fully understand why this Su Che trusts us personally… but not S.H.I.E.L.D. as an organization."

"That's something we need to uncover in time. Until then, we won't bring him in."

Hearing this, Natasha Romanoff nodded slightly, then asked,

"Based on what's written in the diary, how do you assess Su Che as a person?"

Natasha Romanoff's Analysis

"A superhero. A superhero who has saved Earth countless times."

Her answer was immediate and firm.

"If the diary is real, then there's no doubt—Su Che is a respected veteran superhero."

"Analyzing people based on intelligence is basic spy training.

And when it comes to his mental state…"

Natasha paused for a moment before continuing.

"From the diary's wording, he's clearly exhausted. I mean mentally exhausted."

"Think about it—he's only been in our world for half a month, yet he constantly dreams of his previous world's destruction."

"That means he's under extreme stress and anxiety."

"He even feels deep self-blame for failing to save his world."

"Otherwise, he wouldn't be subconsciously searching for ways to prevent a similar fate here—even in his dreams."

Nick Fury's Reaction

Nick Fury nodded.

Her analysis aligned exactly with his own thoughts.

Seeing that, Natasha hesitated for a moment, then added:

"Director, in the diary, Su Che wrote that Tony Stark hasn't been kidnapped yet, and that 'nothing has officially started yet.'"

"Before that happens, he wants to live a 'normal' life."

"I can understand that. I mean, I've felt the same way after doing mission after mission… It gets exhausting."

Then, her tone became serious.

"But if what happened in his world is truly going to happen here…"

"Then, Director, I suggest we establish contact with him—before it's too late."

Nick Fury's Suspicion

Hearing this, Nick Fury raised an eyebrow.

"You're interested in him?"

He easily caught her subtext.

Natasha's Intentions

"Of course."

Natasha crossed her legs, giving Nick Fury a smirk.

"A superhero from a parallel world? That's something worth investigating."

Then, her tone shifted to something more calculated.

"Besides… right now, he's full of stress, anxiety, and self-blame."

"Maybe he needs a therapist."

She gave a sly smile.

"And wouldn't you know it? I happen to be quite experienced in that area."

Testing the Diary's Truth

More importantly…

"I want to test the diary's authenticity."

"After all, the only way to truly evaluate him is to meet him in person."

"If he recognizes me, whether he pretends not to or acknowledges me outright, it'll at least prove the diary holds some truth."

Then, Natasha uncrossed her legs, leaned forward, and said:

"He wrote that I'm one of the few people in S.H.I.E.L.D. he trusts."

"That makes this an opportunity. I should go meet him."

"Besides…"

Her lips curved into a small smirk.

"I really want to know—was I the first Avenger to retire… or the first to die?"

She met Nick Fury's gaze, her expression serious yet filled with curiosity.
