Keeping a Diary in (Marvel )

Chapter 5: CH 5

Manhattan – Inside an Apartment Building

"Water Manipulation Ability?"

Looking at the ability granted by the system, Su Che raised an eyebrow.

Was the system trying to turn him into Aquaman?

Alright, maybe not Aquaman, but something close.

It was probably because out of the three diary holders, Nick Fury had the highest trust level, which meant the reward from the system wasn't at the highest level yet.

Still, it was a good start.

Su Che raised his hand slightly.

The water in the glass in front of him suddenly began floating upward, following his thoughts.

With a flick of his fingers, the water gathered into a sphere in his palm, then shifted into different shapes at his command.

Right now, he pictured an arrow.

In an instant, the water droplet in his palm reshaped itself into a sharp, solid arrow.

With a casual flick of his wrist, the water arrow shot forward, piercing straight through the photo frame on the wall.

Seeing its power, Su Che nodded in satisfaction.

But who said water control was limited to this?

After all, the human body was made up of 70% water…

Wait.

As soon as that thought crossed his mind, Su Che shook his head.

Why did that sound a little too evil?

Suppressing that dark idea, Su Che opened the diary editing page.

He wasn't Homelander—he was trying to establish himself as a superhero.

He couldn't go down the villain route… yet.

Now, how could he increase the trust of the three diary holders?

He needed to interact with them, or else how would he gain more trust?

And, of course, he needed to prepare for S.H.I.E.L.D. potentially treating him as a "prophet" and trying to capture him.

After all, people with future knowledge were dangerous.

If Nick Fury figured out who he was too soon, he'd probably be locked in a S.H.I.E.L.D. black site, interrogated daily for classified information about the future.

So the best defense was always to assume the worst.

After some thought, Su Che's eyes lit up—

He had an idea.

S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters

"Director, the diary has updated!"

Natasha Romanoff, who had been re-reading the first diary entry, suddenly saw text appearing on the previously blank second page.

She immediately turned to Nick Fury.

Hearing her, Nick Fury quickly flipped through his black-and-gold diary, eager to read the second entry.

Second Diary Entry

[It has been more than half a month since I arrived in this parallel world. I thought I could gradually forget the world I came from.]

[But whenever I look around, fragments of my old world always surface in my mind. I desperately want to see it again—the world that belonged to me.]

[If my world and this one were only separated by distance and time, even if they were hundreds of millions of light-years apart, I would find a way back.]

[But my world has been destroyed—completely reduced to cosmic dust.]

[There is no way back… and that is the most despairing thing of all.]

Nick Fury's expression hardened as he read.

[Maybe I should dedicate myself to protecting this parallel world—to continue being a superhero among the Avengers, to use my abilities to prevent this world from meeting the same fate as mine.]

[But… I'm tired.]

[In my world, I was an Avenger for more than ten years. I lost count of how many times I saved the world from apocalyptic crises.]

[Now, all I want is to be a normal person. An ordinary office worker who only worries about daily life. Perhaps that is my reward—what the universe gave me for my years of sacrifice.]

[But… I can't do it.]

Nick Fury stiffened slightly, glancing at Natasha Romanoff, who was equally engrossed in the diary.

[Every night, I dream of my fallen comrades. My fellow Avengers—I see their faces in my nightmares, their final moments of despair before they perished.]

[I have dreamed of them countless times—dreams where they tell me to keep fighting, to continue protecting the world.]

[Even in my dreams, I keep searching for ways to save this world.]

[It's exhausting. Each dream forces me to relive our failure, but I never stop.]

Nick Fury clenched his jaw.

Natasha's expression darkened.

This diary…

It wasn't just a prophecy.

It was filled with raw emotion—the pain of someone who had lived through the worst possible future.

[Maybe I should seek out Nick Fury and warn him about the dangers ahead.]

[But I don't want to do that.]

[For one, Tony Stark in this timeline hasn't even been kidnapped yet—he hasn't become Iron Man, and nothing has officially started.]

[On the other hand, S.H.I.E.L.D. is not safe—not yet. There are only a handful of people I can trust within the agency.]

[Nick Fury. Maria Hill. Phil Coulson. Natasha Romanoff. Jasper Sitwell…]

[I could reach out to them now, but I can't trust the rest of S.H.I.E.L.D.]

[Because… S.H.I.E.L.D. is not really S.H.I.E.L.D. yet!]

[Even Nick Fury is being deceived by those controlling him from the shadows!]

S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters – Reality

Nick Fury's grip on the diary tightened.

What the hell did that mean?

Who was controlling him?

Who was the diary talking about?

Natasha Romanoff glanced at him, her eyes filled with suspicion and unease.

[That's fine. At least, before Tony Stark is kidnapped and officially becomes Iron Man—the moment that marks the true start of everything—I have time.]

[Maybe I can live a peaceful, quiet life…]

[Maybe, for a little while, I can rest my battle-worn heart.]

Back in Manhattan – Su Che's Apartment

Su Che leaned back in his chair, smirking.

"That should do it."

Adding doubts about S.H.I.E.L.D. should shake up Nick Fury even more.

Now, all he had to do was wait—and see how his new "prophecy" played out.
