Joining the Joyful Union Sect, My Life in the Grip of My Senior Sister

Chapter 122: You Sleep on the Bed, I Sleep on the Floor!

Chapter 122: You Sleep on the Bed, I Sleep on the Floor!

Lin Fengmian had felt something was off about Zhao Yazhi for a long time, so he decided it was time to assign someone to keep an eye on her.

The challenge, however, was that Zhao Yazhi had already met everyone in his circle, and they were short on people. Now that the women from the Joyful Union Sect had arrived, he could finally put his plan into action.

Liu Mei, clearly aware of Lin Fengmian’s situation, teased him with a laugh. “What’s the matter? Are you worried that your fiancée is sneaking around with someone else?”

Lin Fengmian chuckled awkwardly. “What nonsense are you talking about? I’m serious!”

Liu Mei pouted in mock annoyance. “Ugh, boring. Well, since little Mo was so eager just now, how about you take this one, Mo Ruyu?”

Mo Ruyu let out a groan as her face fell. “If I knew that, I wouldn’t have volunteered! I was planning to sneak into Junior Brother Lin’s room tonight and show him the new positions I learned.”

Lin Fengmian broke out in a cold sweat and immediately raised a hand to stop her. “This is completely unnecessary!”

“Chicken!” Mo Ruyu stamped her foot in frustration.

Just as she was about to leave, Wang Yanran pulled her back. “Let me handle this task instead.”

Relieved, Mo Ruyu clung to Wang Yanran and jumped up and down with joy. “Senior Sister, you are the best!”

The sight of her exuberant movements, causing waves to ripple across her chest, made Lin Fengmian worry that her clothes might not be able to withstand the pressure. He resisted the urge to help her.

Seeing that Wang Yanran was about to leave, Lin Fengmian hurriedly gave her instructions. “Senior Sister Wang, please be careful.”

“If anything seems wrong, contact me immediately. Don’t act rashly.”

Wang Yanran gave a brief nod and left without another word.

After Liu Mei and the other women were settled into the Lin residence, Lin Fengmian politely declined Liu Mei’s offer to “sit and chat” in her room.

Who knows if she meant to sit… or do something else? He thought warily.

My kidneys can’t handle this.

After finally arranging accommodations for the lively group of women, Lin Fengmian sat alone in the courtyard, rubbing his temples in frustration.

Wen Qinlin soon arrived, accompanied by Zhou Xiaoping. “Lin Fengmian, do you really think we can rely on these women to help us catch the demonic cultivator?”

Lin Fengmian shrugged. “We have no choice but to trust them. They’re not as bad as you think.”

Wen Qinlin seemed distracted, as if he was lost in thought. After a short pause, he gave a small nod. “As long as you know what you’re doing.”

Lin Fengmian hummed in agreement. “With them here, we can at least rotate shifts. Without breaks, just patrolling day and night would drive us crazy.”

Wen Qinlin couldn’t disagree. With the women from the Joyful Union Sect helping out, it was a significant increase in their manpower.

That very night, they began to implement the shift system, with Liu Mei and her companions doing the patrols while Lin Fengmian and the others rested.

Wen Qinlin, however, decided to push himself a little harder by staying at the Lin residence to cultivate, ready to provide support if needed.

For the first time in a long time, Lin Fengmian finally had a moment to breathe. As he stared into the deepening night, he realized that Luo Xue wouldn’t be coming tonight.

Lin Fengmian heaved a long sigh. Just as he was about to return to his room to rest, he remembered that Song Youwei was still inside.

He quickly opened the door. Song Youwei was leaning against the headboard, fast asleep. The sound of the door startled her like a frightened bird. When she saw that it was him, she let out a sigh of relief.

“You’re back?”

As soon as she spoke, she felt a little embarrassed. Why did she sound like a wife waiting for her husband’s return?

Lin Fengmian hummed softly and asked in a low voice, “Sister Youwei, have you eaten?”

Song Youwei nodded. “Yes, I have.”

Lin Fengmian smiled. “Why haven’t you gone to sleep?”

Her face turned red and she gave him a playful look. “If someone saw me sleeping on your bed, what would they think?”

Lin Fengmian felt a little uncomfortable. The room that Little Butterfly had prepared was taken by Liu Mei and Master Huanglong’s disciples.

“Sister Youwei, it’s late now, and we have some unexpected guests, so the rooms are scarce. I’ll prepare a room for you tomorrow, okay?”

Song Youwei looked down at her chest and murmured, “Then… where will you sleep tonight?”

Seeing her shy expression, Lin Fengmian swallowed nervously. After a moment of thought, he offered, “I’ll sleep outside?”

Her face flushed red and she gave him a scornful look. “You little pervert! Stop pretending. Just stay here.”

“But,” she added with a stern tone, “you sleep on the bed, I’ll take the floor. And you better behave!”

She scoffed inwardly – as if the Lin family didn’t have enough rooms. What a lousy excuse!

Lin Fengmian scratched his head. It was hard to imagine such a large household being filled with guests in one night.

He let out a nervous laugh. “No need. I’m a cultivator, sitting in meditation all night is enough for me.”

Song Youwei gave him a doubtful look, but then laughed. “You? A little pervert like you, meditating? Ha!”

Lin Fengmian smiled helplessly, then went to a corner of the room, sat down cross-legged, and began to prepare for cultivation.

At that moment, the twin fish pendant on his body began to glow – Luo Xue from a thousand years ago was calling him.

Lin Fengmian hesitated for a moment, but in the end, he grabbed the pendant and entered the mysterious space.

In the dark void, Luo Xue was already waiting for him and examined him from head to toe the moment he arrived.

Lin Fengmian smiled awkwardly. “Luo Xue, what are you looking at?”

A flicker of confusion flashed through her eyes as she curiously asked, “Have you met the future me today?”

Lin Fengmian’s smile froze. His mind raced, but in the end, he nodded with a forced grin. “Yes, I did.”

He couldn’t bring himself to tell her that the future Luo Xue was already dead. He wanted to investigate what had happened in the Qionghua Sword Sect before telling her – perhaps there was still a way to change her fate.

Luo Xue’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “You really saw me? How was I?”

Lin Fengmian blurted out nonsense, “You were just like you are now, only more mature and even more beautiful.”

“When you descended from the sky, it was as if a goddess had appeared. Everyone in the city was in awe.”

Luo Xue frowned slightly. “And… she didn’t say anything special to you?”

Lin Fengmian, caught off guard, continued to make things up. “Not really. Just some small talk. She told me to keep working hard on my cultivation and said she’d take me to Qionghua next time.”

Luo Xue’s confusion deepened and her gaze became more serious. “She really said that to you?”

Lin Fengmian nodded quickly. “Yes! And then she said she had something to do and left early.”

Luo Xue narrowed her eyes. “And she didn’t give you the Qionghua token? It’s the symbol of a Qionghua Sect disciple.”

Lin Fengmian feigned a sudden realization. “Oh, right! She gave it to me. I forgot!”

Luo Xue took a few steps back, her gaze sharp as she stared at him. “Why are you lying to me?”

Lin Fengmian panicked. “I’m not lying, Luo Xue! What are you talking about?”

Her expression darkened as she softly said, “Don’t lie. You know as well as I do that there is no Qionghua Token. I never came to see you today, did I?”

“And if I had, the first thing I would have done…” Her voice turned icy, “…was to beat you up!”

Lin Fengmian was stunned. “What? Why?”

Luo Xue glared at him. “You think I don’t know what you did to me, you little pervert?”
