Chapter 66: Trigon
Flash:
"Pain," Trigon yells, swinging one of his giant red arms and destroying a skyscraper. "Misery. Horror!"
The people scream and run as the debris from the destroyed skyscraper rains down. Running as fast as I can, I grab a bunch of people and carry them out of the way.
"Go," I yell, pushing them away. "Get out of here! Run! As far away as you can go!"
The man and woman nod their heads before turning around and running. However, I don't get the chance to turn around before I hear them screaming. Looking behind me, I see one of the red demons attacking the couple.
The man screams as the red demon cuts his arm. The woman cries while the man drops to his knees, holding his red arm. Running to the man, I vibrate my hand, turning it intangible. Punching the red demon, my hand going through him, the red demon screams. It screams but it didn't die. Pulling its hand back, the red claws sparking, the red demon tries to cut me but I vibrate my hand even faster, causing the demon's molecule to vibrate and become unsteady. Unable to handle the vibrating molecules, they pull themselves from each other, also pulling the demon into halves. With the demon defeated, I turn to the couple.
"Are you okay," I ask, helping the man and woman up.
"We're fine," the man answers.
I nod my head and step to the side. The man and woman run past me, away from Trigon and his red demons.
"Barry," someone shouts. "Barry! Can you hear me!"
"Deathstroke," I ask, placing my fingers against my ear. "What is it?"
"We need help here," Deathstroke answers. "There are too many demons here! We can't fight them and save the people at the same time!"
Deathstroke's voice is replaced with gunfire and the sound of explosions. I turn my arm around and tap my wrist. A green, holographic display of Jump City shoots into the air. There, in the display, I see about a dozen red dots and one blue dot.
"Deathstroke," I yell. "Where is Deathstroke?"
A dotted line forms between one of the red dots and the single blue dot. Not wasting a second, I lower my hand and run through the burning street of Jump City. Everywhere I look, I see nothing but destroyed buildings, crushed cars, and fires so hot that I'm leaving behind a trail of sweat. Looking down at my wrist, an arrow appears, flashing and telling me to turn right. Taking the right turn, I run into an open street with several hundred red demons, all fighting Deathstroke, Blue Beetle, and Catwoman.
Screaming as he transforms both his hands into arm cannons, Blue Beetle fires countless shots at the red demons. Jamie manages to keep them back, letting the innocent people behind run away. However, multiple demons attack Jamie from the side. They fire a blast of dark magic, hitting and knocking Beelte to the street. Before he can get up, the demons jump onto him. They scratch and attack him while keeping him down.
"Hold on," Deathstroke yells. Pulling a grenade from his belt, Deathstroke pulls the pin and then throws it at Beetle. The grenade explodes, destroying and freeing Beetle.
"Jamie," Selina says, running to help Beetle up. "Are you okay?"
De-activating his helmet, Jamie opens his mouth to say something but whatever he wants to say, he quickly changes his mind. When the ground shakes, it freezes all of us. We look up and see a massive, figurine coming out from the thick black smoke.
"Pain," Trigon yells, his four red eyes glowing. Seeing Jamie and Selina, Trigon fires laser beams at the two of them.
"Selina," Jamie shouts, grabbing her. "Watch out!"
Turning around, acting as her shield, Deathstroke and I watch as the laser beams head for them.
"Nooo," I shout. Running to them, hoping to grab them before the beams hit them, I stop when a gust of wind shoots past me. It stops me and I watch as, out of nowhere, The Man appears between the laser beams and Jamie and Selina.
Shooting out his hands, The Man somehow blocks the beams. The Man screams as Trigon's beams hit his hands. The Man screams and is pushes back but he doesn't back down. Staying strong, The Man keeps Trigon's beam back until Trigon stops shooting.
Lowering his smoking hands, The Man turns around and faces all of us.
"I can't believe I'm happy to see you," I say.
"Where the hell have you been," Deathstroke yells, walking up to The Man. The Man ignores Deathstroke. Instead, he helps Jamie and Selina back up to their feet. When the two of them are standing, The Man walks over to Deathstroke and slaps him on the side of his head.
"Ouch!"
"Don't swear," The Man says, "And I was in five different pocket dimensions, slowly pulling myself together."
"What," Deathstroke asks.
"He'll tell you later," Supergirl says, carrying Cyborg with her.
"Cyborg," Selina, Jamie, and I yell. All of us about to attack Cyborg, The Man and Supergirl stop us.
"Don't," Supergirl shouts.
"He's friendly," The Man yells, putting up his hands. "Besides, we're going to need his help anywhere."
"His help," I repeat. "What are you--"
Before I can finish, The Man covers my mouth and points behind me. Turning around, I see Trigon shooting more beams.
"Aket us waay," The Man shouts, letting me go. Pointing his fingers at the street, The Man draws a glowing circle on the street. With all of us in the circles, a yellow flash blinds us. Screaming as I step back, I spend the next few minutes trying to see. When I finally can, I see all of us on a different street.
"Hal," Cybrog says, his finger pressed against his ear. "Hal? Can you hear me? Where are you? Hello? Hello! Son of a bitch! Hal won't answer me."
Now slapping Cybrog on the side of his head, Cybrog rubs it while looking at The Man.
"Don't swear," The Man answers.
"Really," Cyborg asks.
"Yes," The Man shouts. He turns his head and looks at Trigon as he blasts another building, turning it into rubble, dust shooting into the air. He looks at Trigon for a while before turning back to us.
"Fight the red demons and protect the people," he says. "Get them out of here. I'll deal with Trigon."
"What," Supergirl shouts. "You're going to fight Trigon? You're not going to---"
Before Supergirl can finish, The Man shakes his head.
"No," he says while still shaking his head. "No, I won't. I won't turn into that again."
As The Man says this, he raises his shaking fist.
"I can fight Trigon without turning into that," The Man states, lowering his hand. "But first, I need to grab something from the base."
Reaching into his pocket, The Man pulls out a teleporter disc. He places it on the ground and prepares the disc. I watch him carefully as he pushes the buttons on it, a beam shooting up and a portal appearing.
"See you soon," The Man says before jumping through.
The Man:
Making it back to the base, landing on my hand, feet, and knee, I push myself up and run through the hallway as fast as I can. As I run through the hallway, the infirmary doors open, and Doc, Iris, and Kent all walk out.
"Hey," Iris says, "What's going on---"
"Sorry," I shout, jumping over the trio. "No time to talk! Will explain everything later!"
Despite the three of them being confused, I don't have the time to explain. I run further and further into the base, more than even the Doc has explained. Running into a certain hallway, I stop when I reach a pair of steel doors.
Looking at the keypad at the side, I press my whole thumbprint against it. A light on the keypad turns from red to green and a small circular glass dish slides out. Taking the glass dish, I spit on it before sliding it back in. My spit is accepted. Once it's accepted, a part of the floor splits open and a small yellow column shoots up. On the top of the column is a small, rectangle-shaped hole. Shooting out one of my arms, I pull out my sword.
Inserting the final key into the column, I turn and the yellow column disappears back into the floor. The steel doors split open and I walk in.
Despite the lights staying off, I can easily walk through the hallway. Counting my footsteps as I walk, I stop and turn to the right. Taking another couple of steps, I stop in front of a glass display case. Waving my hand through the air, the light to this display case turns on, and I can see everything inside it.
Seeing a small dagger inside the display case, a green, yellow, and silver blade with a black handle, I reach forth and push a button on the case. The glass opens and I grab a tiny black and grey box with a gold coin in the center of it. Turning away to run back to Jump City, I turn and look back at the display. Behind the dagger and the box and the helmet, I see an almost ancient newspaper clipping.
"Tommy Oliver," I say, "Wish me luck."
Supergirl:
"Watch out," I yell. Seeing a bunch of red demons rushing toward of crowd of people, I land on the street in front of them and use my frost breathe. Freezing the demons in place, I turn to the people and point behind them.
"Run," I order. "Get out of here!"
The people nod their heads and run. While they run, the rest of us clear a space for them. Deathstroke and Blue Beetle protect them from one side and Harleen and Red Hood protect them from the other. Meanwhile, Flash and Reverse Flash are running around, grabbing as many people as they can and dropping them off outside the city.
"We're doing it," I shout.
"Barely," Cyborg yells, blasting some demons with his arm cannon. "But Trigon is coming! Where is he? Where is The Man!"
Looking at the sky, I see Trigon's silhouette through the smoke as he gets closer and closer. Preparing myself as Trigon steps through the smoke, I see a portal opening on a building in front of him, and stepping through the portal is The Man.
I can't be sure but from where I'm hovering, I think I see The Man shoots something out in front of himself. He then says something.
"Dragonzord," he shouts. Out of nowhere, green and golden armors appear and latch onto The Man.
