Chapter 65: The Last Teen Titans
Cyborg:
Watching as the man in the sunglasses, or the man now a giant monster dog, snaps his mouth shut and the person in the purple cloak in two, I scream and step back.
"What the hell," I yell. I re-activate my arm cannon and aim it at the...giant monster dog. Looking down at the person, I pull my head back when I realize something.
"He's not bleeding. Why isn't he bleeding?"
The person in the purple cloak is screaming and panicking but he's not dead, despite being in two halves.
"Lord Structure," another person shouts. Turning around, I see three other people. One is a medium-height woman in a golden, floating cloak and hood. The second person is a giant man with glowing purple skin and golden armor. The last and final person is wearing a purple robes with golden leggings.
"Lord Structure," I repeat. "Wait, are these the Lords of Order? No way."
Watching as "Lord Structure's" upper half tries to crawl away, the giant monster dog stomps him. I hear bones crack as the monster dog lets out an earth-shaking growl. As I cover my ears to block out the sound, I hear something else and turn around.
"Supergirl," I scream, seeing Supergirl lying on the ground with her hands against her ears. Running over to her, barely able to stand on my two legs, I grab Supergirl and turn her around.
"Cyborg," she says the second she sees me. Her eyes go red and start warming up.
"Hey, hey, hey," I say, backing up while putting up my hands. "Supergirl! I don't want to fight! I'm here to help you."
"What," Supergirl says, her eyes slowly returning to normal. "You're here to help?"
Opening the palm of my hand, I look at the radio in it.
"Yeah," I answer, looking Supergirl in the eyes before turning around to face the monster dog. "I am here to help. Even it doesn't seem like it."
Raising my arm cannon, I shoot an energy blast and hit the monster dog. The monster dog stomps its paw on the floor before turning around and facing me.
"Oh boy," I say, the blood, or in my case, electric currents freezing. "I knew I would regret that."
Lowering its head, the monster dog then raises it. As it raises its head, the monster dog lets out a roar so loud, I can feel the sonic waves hitting me. They hit me over and over, before kicking me through the air and into a wall.
"Ouch," I say, peeling myself off the wall.
While the monster dog faces me, it doesn't see the three Lords of ORder surrounding it. Shooting out their hands, they start moving them in certain patterns while chanting some spells.
Somehow, the monster dog must have sensed something was up. It turns away from me and looks at the three Lords. Shooting out their hands again, two of the Lords summon a glowing box to seal the monster dog in. The top and bottom appear before four walls trap the monster dog inside. With the monster dog in the box, the final and biggest Lord shoots out his hands. As he does, a ball of light appears in the box with the monster dog. Looking like a small sun, the ball of light explodes, engulfing the monster dog and the box in flames.
The explosion is so strong it breaks the box and knocks all of us off our feet. Fighting through the smoke in my eyes and ringing in my ears, I slam my fist into the ground as I push myself up.
"Ahhh," I moan. Shaking my head, I activate my inferred red vision and scan the room. "You're kidding me."
With my inferred red vision, I can see four warm bodies. And one very cold, monster dog-shaped one. I watch as the icy monster dog attacks three warm bodies. Ramming one of them into the wall, the monster dog swings its claws, hitting and knocking the other two Lords. He runs up to another Lord and stomps his paw onto this one. Still watching with the inferred red, I watch as the monster dog finishes off the last Lords. He splits something out at the Lord. Whatever it is, it sets the final Lords of Order on fire, the heat from the body increasing as it falls to the floor.
Painfully pushing myself onto my feet, I turn my arm cannon on again and aim.
"He just took out four Lords of Order," I think. "What the hell can my arm cannon do that they can't?"
As I ask myself this question, I hear something drop. Looking down, I see the Titan's radio on the floor. Reaching down and picking it up, I look at it again. As I look at the radio, I see old memories of all of us.
I see Robin and I training, sparring against each other. I remember hearing the screams and cries of Beast Boy when he and I would play video games. I even recall once, when Raven helped me build the T-Car.
"Robin gave one to each of us. You. Me. Raven. Beast Boy. Starfire. There aren't many of us Titans around anymore. Dick. Garfield. Starfire. They're all gone. And now, so is Raven. The only ones left are you and me."
As I think this, the smoke clears and I can see the monster dog.
"The only ones left are you and me," I repeat. "The only ones left are you and me!"
De-activating my arm cannon, my arm returning to a regular arm, I hold the radio as tightly and run toward the monster dog. Screaming as I run toward him, he drops the Lords of Order he was holding and looks at me. Turning his head in time, I grab and wrap my around his neck.
"Listen to me," I yell, holding on as the man tries to shake me off. "Listen to me!"
Holding on with one arm, I try to show him the Titan's radio, but as I open my hand, the man swings his claw. He hits me and knocks the radio out of my hand.
"Nooo," I scream. I reach out to grab it but the man almost shakes me off and I have to hold on with both hands.
"You're a Titan," I say. "We're Titan! We're a team! Remember! Robin! Starfire! Beast Boy! Raven! Raven? Raven! I get it now! You were trying to save Raven! That's why you kidnapped her! You tried to save her! You tried to save Raven! Because you are a Titan!"
Throwing both of us to the left, we hit a wall and the man starts running against it. Bright sparks can be seen as I skid against the wall, screaming. Despite all of it, I still hold on.
"You're a Titan," I scream. "I couldn't save Robin! I couldn't save Beast Boy or Starfire! I couldn't even save Raven but I can still save you!"
Pushing us all the wall, the man heads for one of the massive statues. About to run right into it, I close my eyes and brace myself.
"Stop," someone screams. Jerking forward but not letting go, I open my eyes and see Supergirl standing in front of the man. Standing with her arms out, Supergirl is pushing against the man, holding him back and keeping him from crashing.
"Listen to me," she shouts. "This isn't you! I refuse to believe this is you! Remember who you are! Who you really are! You are The Man in the Sunglasses! The man who is smart enough to build a whole secret base! The man who can match Batman hand-to-hand! The man who doesn't need any superpowers! This isn't you!"
As she goes on, Supergirl opens her hand and shows the Titan's radio. When the man sees it, he stops growling. He isn't shaking as much as before and he's looking right at the radio. Meanwhile, Supergirl and I look at each other.
"You are a Titan," I say. "We can overcome anything. The day the nuke went off, I forgot about that but you didn't."
The man stops shaking. He looks at me and Supergirl and the radio. He's panting like a dog as he looks at everything around him, his head doing circles. Supergirl and I looking at each other again, we both look down when we hear the man growling again. Before we can do anything, he shakes us off. Throwing us to the sides, I watch as the man then throws up something white.
"We...We...I couldn't do it," I say. About to look away, I stop when I hear screaming. Turning, I see the four Lords of Order. The white thing, whatever it is, is hitting all four of them. It's blinding them to the wall and quickly covering them.
"What is this," Lord Structure screams.
"I can't break out out of it," Master Pattern yells.
"Ahh," Sister Symmetry shouts. "Our magic isn't working! We're trapped!"
"Nooo," Count Control cries as he and the other Lords are all covered by the glowing white stuff. It imprisoned them, trapping them inside.
"What the hell is that," I ask. I don't have time to even think of an answer. I turn again when I hear more screaming. This time, it's the man who's screaming. He's shaking and breaking apart. His outer skin starts cracking and breaking apart. Jumping into the air, standing on his two back legs, the man punches the ground. The man punches the ground, and his entire outer skin falls off. It falls to the ground and kicks up a dust storm that blankets the man.
"Nooo," I shout, pushing myself up and running to him. Reaching him first, Supergirl uses her super breath to blow away the dust. As she blows it all away, we see the man, the normal, non-monster, non-dog, man in sunglasses, a vest, and long pants. On one of his kneels and with his fist against the ground.
Pushing himself up, the man tries to stand but he stumbles. Not wasting a second, Supergirl and I rush to grab and pick him up.
"Are you okay," Supergirl asks.
"Yeah," the man answers. "Thought, I am very hungry and want to eat a big steak."
Supergirl smiles and laughs. While she laughs, the man turns to me.
"Not that I'm complaining or anything, and I really appreciate the help, but why are you here?"
"I picked up signs of magic and came to investigate."
As I answer the man, the whole room shakes and we hear screaming and an explosion.
"Oh yeah. I guess we kind of forget about the big, red guy. Come on! This isn't over yet."
