Injustice 3: The Might of Magic (Book 3)

Chapter 67: The Powers of a Ranger

The Man:

Dressed in the very familiar green armor with a golden chest plate, I slowly raise my right hand and see the same green, yellow, and silver dragger from the display case.

Taking in a deep breath, I look up and face Trigon. It looks like he noticed little, old me.

"Pain," Trigon yells. " Misery! Death!"

Staring Trigon in his glowing-red eyes, I shoot the Dragon Dragger into the air.

"Lead me your strength," I shout, before putting the dragger back down. Placing the blade against my mouth, I begin to play.

As I play the Dragon Dragger, my fingers bounce up and down on the blade like a flute, a mighty roar echoes throughout the red sky, and it stops everyone. Even Trigon. Everyone stops and looks up as another roar echoes throughout the sky, and a large silhouette appears out of thin air.

"Awaken from your ancient slumber," I shout, seeing a pair of red eyes flashing. "And lead me your strength, Dragonzord!"

A third roar shakes the sky and the ground as the Dragonzord steps forward. A massive, dragon-shaped robot with a finned head, long tail, and green and golden armor, the Dragonzord sees me.

"Hello old friend," I start. "I know I am not Tommy Oliver, but I still need your help. Please, fight with me again."

The Dragonzord nods its head. It looks at Trigon and raises both its metal hands. Rockets then fire from Dragonzord's fingertips. The rockets hit Trigon, forcing a scream out of him. Trigon raises one of his arms to try and shield himself but Dragonzord's rockets still explode all over him.

Playing the Dragon Dragger again, Dragonzord's eyes flash as it quickly walks over to Trigon who is still distracted by the rockets. Lowering his arms after the last rocket explodes, Trigon screams as Dragonzord swings both its hands, scratching him in the chest.

Stepping back, Trigon looks down and sees scratch marks on his chest. As Trigon is looking down, he also sees me.

"You," he shouts, pointing at me.

Growling like a dog, Trigon swings his hand and scratches the air. Ripping a hole in the sky, I watch dozens of demons fly out, their black bodies covered in burning flames. Flying toward me like a fleet of planes, I swing the Dragon Dragger, slicing and dicing through more than half of the demons.

One of the demons who flew past me stops. It hovers in the air before throwing its arm at me like a whip. The demon hits me and sparks jump from my green armor. My feet skid against the rooftop as I fight to stay on them.

"Ahh," I cry out. "I really hate how this doesn't have any ranged attacks."

"Destruction," Trigon yells. "Ruin! The end to everything!"

Hearing the sound of crushing metal, I turn around and see Trigon uppercutting Dragonzord. Dragonzord roars a weak roar as its eyes flash.

"Dragonzord!"

Putting the Dragon Dragger to my mouth, I play it again. Dragonzord's eyes stop flashing. It steps back and spins. As Dragonzord spins, its drill tail activates. Dragonzord's drill tail hits Trigon, forcing him back. Despite its successful attack, Dragonzord is still hurt. It's losing most of its powers, and its eyes are flashing again.

"Don't worry, old friend," I say, shooting out the Dragon Dragger. "I will not let you fall!"

The Dragon Dragger begins to glow. It glows before changing into the Master Morpher.

"Master Morpher," I shout, shooting the Master Morpher. My green armor and golden chest plate start glowing too. They glow before changing into a silver and blue jumpsuit with a silver helmet, the front resembling a wolf.

"Wild Force," I shout, jumping and clawing the rooftop with my new sharpened claws. Looking up at Dragonzord, he too begins to glow.

"Rest well, Dragonzord."

Dragonzord vanishes. Once Dragonzord is gone, I pull the lunar cue from my belt. Before facing Trigon, I turn to the flying demons.

"Laser pool," I shout, swinging the lunar cue. As I swing the lunar cue, a green grid appears that captures all the demons. It binds them, immobilizing them. While the demons struggle to move, I pull from my belt the Wolf crystal, the Alligator crystal, and the Hammerhead crystal.

Placing the three animal crystals on the grid, I then place the end of my lunar cue against the Wolf crystal. Slamming the cue down, the crystals bounce all over the grid, hitting and destroying the demons. The crystals returning to my hands, I turn around and face Trigon.

Swinging and summoning another green grid, I put the crystals on the grid again and slam my cue down. This time, the animal crystals bounce against each other before flying into the air and exploding.

The ground rumbles as the wolf zord, the alligator zord, and the hammerhead shark zord all appear out of thin air. Charging toward Trigon, they stop and jump, transforming and combining together into one. Jumping and entering through the alligator's mouth, I find myself in the pilot's seat.

With the lunar cue still in my hands, I turn it around and insert it into the key slot, completing the transformation.

"Another one," Trigon says.

"Hello Wolf," I start," Alligator. Hammerhead."

Wolf's, alligator's, and hammerhead's eyes blink when they hear me.

"I need your help. This world needs your help. Lead me your power!"

Wolf, alligator, and hammerhead all growl in agreement.

Smiling, I shoot my hands up.

"Ready for battle. Predazord awaken!"

"Suffer," Trigon yells, putting his hands together. Dark magic swirling together into a ball, Trigon shoots out his hands and the ball fires a blackish, red beam at me.

"Predator wave," I yell. The head of the alligator, which is located in the chest, opens its mouth. Blue energy gathers inside before shooting. The Preadazord's predator wave crashes into Trigon's dark magic. They push against each other, the power coming from the two turning the nearby buildings into dust.

Even from the inside of the Predazord, I can still see Kara and the others. They're not fighting Trigon's minions anymore. Now, they're just evacuating the civilians. Trigon's minions are still on the streets but they're turning into dust.

"It's working," I think. "Trigon is losing powers. He can't keep his minions on Earth!"

The five of us still stuck in an arm wrestling match, Trigon decides to cheat. Magic gathering in his eyes, Trigon fires beams from his eyes.

Sparks jump from the walls and hit me as the Predazord and I fall to the ground.

"I did not miss this," I say, putting my hand on the helmet. Shaking it off, the Predazord and I push ourselves up. At least, the Predazord tries to. About halfway up, Trigon stomps on the Predazord, slamming it back down.

Wolf, alligator, hammerhead, and I scream as we crash back into the ground. Trigon then grabs the Predazord by its shoulder and flips it over.

"No power can beat me," Trigon says, shooting eye beams at us. As Trigon fires, I can hear Wolf, alligator, and hammerhead struggling to stay together.

"No! Eject! Eject and defuse!"

Pulling the lunar cue out, the animals split apart. Wolf, alligator, and hammerhead all fall to the ground. Meanwhile, I hit the ruin of what I think was once a supermarket.

Pushing myself off a pile of squashed tomatoes, I hear a wolf howling in pain. Turning around, I see Trigon picking up Wolf by its neck. Wiping the tomatoes from my helmet, I shoot out the lunar cue. It transforms from the lunar cue back into the Master Morpher.

"Morpher Master! Mercury Ranger!"

My silver and blue jumpsuit vanishes and is replaced with a silver, orange, and red armor suit with blue shoulder pads. As I lose the silver and blue jumpsuit, wolf, alligator, and hammerhead disappear too. As the three vanish, I hear their voices.

"Thank you for your help," I answer. With the three gone, I once again face Trigon.

"Kick into Overdrive! Appear, Flash Point Megazord!"

This time, sirens and flashing lights grab Trigon's attention. He freezes and looks around, trying to pinpoint the noise. Turning and looking behind, Trigon sees the fire truck zord and the two rescue runners. Looking at the mercury morpher on my wrist, I push a series of buttons. The firetruck zord and rescue runners then jump into the air before combining together. Jumping after them, I take the pilot seat of the Flashpoint Megazord.

"Another one," Trigon yells, sounding a little surprised.

"Hey Trigon," I yell back, speaking through the Megazord's outer speakers. "All that yelling. All that screaming. It must have dried your throat. Hey, drinks are on me!"

The nozzles lower themselves and unleash dual streams of water that hit Trigon dead-on. He screams and shakes as he's pushed to the ground. Stepping on the gas, the Flashpoint Megazord charges toward Trigon as he pushes himself up.

"This is for Dragonzord," I say, stomping on Trigon's back and forcing him back down. I stomp on Trigon over and over again, and even when Trigon manages to push himself up and go for a backward swing, the Flashpoint Megazord steps back and dodges it.

"No giant metal man can beat me," Trigon states, wiping his mouth. "Nor some stupid metal dog! Or even a metal dragon."

"This isn't a 'giant metal man'," I say, pulling down some levers and pushing some switches. "And that wasn't 'some stupid metal dog', or a metal dragon. That metal dragon is called Dragonzord. That metal dog is called the Wolf Zord. This giant metal man is called the Flashpoint Megazord, and no! It can beat you!"

Grabbing two levers at once, I throw them both forward. The nozzles on the head raise up and aim at Trigon. The arms raise up and also take aim at Trigon.

"Hydro blast! Full power!"

Pouring as much power as I can spare, I fire a barrage of lasers and water bombs at Trigon. Trigon fires back with both his laser vision and hands but it's not enough. He screams and covers himself as the full power of the Morpher grid hits Trigon. His red skin turns black and steams flies off.

"Ahhhh!"

Knocking Trigon right off his feet, I keep firing, making sure Trigon stays off his feet. Only stopping when red lights and warnings appear on the screen, telling me that the laser rifles on the hands are getting too hot.

"Too hot, uh? Hmm."

A final idea sparking inside my head, I eject from the Flashpoint Megazord. Holding up my hand, I switch the Mercury Morpher for the Master Morpher. My silver and blue jumpsuit and the Flashpoint Megazord all disappear.

"Master Morpher. Solaris Knight."

The Master Morpher changes into a golden card and a card puncher. Using the card puncher to punch a hole in the golden card, I then throw it into the air. The card grows big before passing over and encasing me in gold and blue armor and a cape. The card flies back into my hand, where I punch and throw it into the air again.

"Solar Streak Megazord."

A massive, sparkling portal appears and a blue train with a bold red line drives through. The train jumps into the air and transforms, the front of the train turning into the head while the other cars in the back turn into its body.

Jumping and taking the pilot seat, I throw some coals into the furnace before pushing another lever.

"Furnace blast," I shout, the chest to the Megazord opening and pulling Trigon in.

"No," a down, smoking, Trigon says. He turns around and digs his nails into the ground but it's no use. "Nooo. Noooo!"

Pulling Trigon into the air, he turns into dust before disappearing into the furnace, the doors sliding shut and sealing Trigion inside.

"Once a ranger," I say. Taking a deep breath, I let go of the control and fall deep into the seat.
