After waiting for the remnants of the military and shield men we watched Blonsky being loaded into a truck and taken out of the city. Stark was able to see for himself the Fury's priorities. Their men showed up very quickly. Upon arrival, the military immediately confronted the agent about our turtle. I'd like to point out that the guy stood up for the new gamma mutant. But Ross fought off his new test subject. His main argument was that it was his subordinate and he had to deal with it.

At that moment, my hearing picked up the sound of a headset in the agent's ear. After that he immediately gave up and it seemed that he would run to help them push Blonsky into the truck. My guess is the shield didn't intend to capture Emil in the first place. Their goal was to get a confession out of Ross. And given that the agent was probably recording their debate. Fury now has a tape of Ross confessing that the monster that destroyed New York was his man and that he would be responsible for it.

With that sorted out, I said goodbye to Stark and left the scene of the massacre. I didn't get many questions because of my armour and Tony's constant shifting of the conversation in my direction. And the way he poked at the military for their negligence. And I'm not talking about the "stolen" suit at all. Stark is still pretending he didn't give the suit to his friend. That's why he's made some very valid claims about the warrior. No, he did not interfere with Rowdy, but he mentioned the lack of the suit and the irrational use of such an invention several times.

When I got to my backpack, I took out a jar and, unscrewing the lid, carefully removed the bloody scrap of red and blue cloth. On my way home, I stopped by a place. Recently, while surfing the websites of highly qualified construction firms, I had discovered an abandoned bunker. It was in their most extravagant orders section. Their brainchild left over from the Cold War. A rich guy built one at his place of work. Just in case it went off during work hours. Logically, they weren't supposed to put out information about the order, but since there was a zero per cent chance of a lawsuit, they just bungled it. So his firm went bankrupt, but the building stayed. After a few fires, it wasn't looking so good. Plus the neighbourhood was a neighbour to Hell's Kitchen. So the building was starting to rot a little bit. So I took advantage of that and set up a workshop in the bunker.

The size of this building was staggering. If you don't count the hangar, it's almost like a shield base from the last seasons of the series. Without information, finding the entrance to it is quite a problem. Maybe the customer was paranoid, but I didn't fully understand the point of camouflaging the entrance. Because if you've been hit with a nuke, you're unlikely to be visited by anyone for a couple of decades. But if he wanted to open the door through a column, who am I to criticise him?

Throwing the samples into the fridge and taking off my armour, I left the building quickly. Returning to the rooftop at the end of the block, I let out a pained sigh as I stuck the knife into myself. Afterwards, I pulled out a beacon from a hidden pouch. Putting it back in place, I had to wait for at least partial healing. And while I had some free time I decided to look at the rewards for the mission.

Mission accomplished

You helped disarm the Abomination and left him a couple of reminders of himself.

Reward: 70 S.O., your image is starting to catch on with the public and gawkers, the next time you meet the Hulk you will be recognised as a friend.

In a black black room. At a black black table. sat a black man. He was wearing a black black uniform. In his hands was a blue-blue folder and a dossier on his friend's son. In his head, for which modern games would use raitracing was a complex dilemma.

With only three days left, I could finally get a break from all the shooting and fighting. Just textbooks and boring lectures. I mentally reassured myself as I calculated the time until Thor's arrival. Putting the newly delivered pizza on the table and turning on the TV, I felt nirvana.

-I'm sorry, but the tennis match will be interrupted by an emergency news bulletin. - The announcer's voice announced.

-Bring back the girls. - I bemoaned the 40-year-old man who appeared.

-Half an hour ago, there was a horrific shootout between several gangs in Central Park. According to preliminary information, dozens of victims have been admitted to hospitals. The number of people killed has not yet been released. - An announcer has alerted the crowd.

-"Fuck" was the only thing he could say at that moment.

Two days later at the hospital.

There was a man in the ward who had woken up a few hours ago. There was an emptiness in his gaze. Considering what he'd been through it wasn't surprising. Not many people can accept the loss of everything they hold dear. A loving wife, a son, a daughter. Each memory of that morning tore a piece of his heart away. Their smiles and then their screams. The last hours he just slowly died. He had defended this country, but at the moment when his family needed protection the most no one came. What's the point of living now? He asked the question into the void. But then, something inside him snapped. At that moment, a teenager walked into the room.

-Hello, Frank. - Said the kid.

Castle ignored him, kept replaying that morning in his head. Over and over again.

-I don't think I'll ever be able to understand your grief. I even hope I don't. But I came here for a reason. - The kid sits down on the chair across from the bed.

-"I have a business proposition for you. - the kid continued his monologue.

-Fuck you. - Replied the man.

-Even if it has to do with your family? - Asked the guy.

The man turned his head sharply towards the teenager. And his gaze became animal-like. It seemed that the only thing left to do was to give the command and Frank right now will be at the boy's throat. Not two bullet wounds or a stiffened body would stop him.

-I should probably start by saying that while you were in your coma, most of the men involved in that shooting were released. Only the Sixers were behind bars. - The kid gave us a status report.

-So there's no legal way to get back at you. Though I can see in your eyes you've given up on them from the start. - Pierce Jr.'s desire to kill has been recognised.

-But I have a way to fulfil your deepest desire. -Yes. I can bring them back. - Said the guy, flipping a coin.

-"Sounds like a deal with the devil. - Said the man. In his present state, he was ready to grasp at any straw. And if he had to sell his soul for them, it would be the easiest decision of his life.

At his remark, the coin burst into flames.

-No need to be so dramatic. I just need someone I can trust. - Said Ryan as he continued to flip the coin.

-So you'll do it? - Asked the guy after he stopped playing with the piece of iron.

-If you can get them back, you can do whatever you want with me. - Said the man, continuing to burn the boy with his gaze.

-Great. Now let's get out of here. I don't know how much special effects will be involved in the wish fulfilment. So we'll take a ride to one place. - Said Ryan, pulling up a wheelchair.

Unbeknownst to the man, they were able to quietly leave unnoticed. Several times they were almost caught, but as if with a sixth sense the guy foresaw the appearance of doctors and nurses. This convinced Frank even more of the boy's supernatural origins.

The oddities kept piling up. At one point, the kid stopped in front of a coffee shop and pulled out a knife and slashed his side. At this point Castle thought that he was fooled by some nut, but remembering the abilities demonstrated by the guy, he still stayed where he was. Things got weirder and weirder from there. His wound stopped bleeding in literally ten seconds. And then it began to close. After spinning around and making sure his wound wouldn't start bleeding again, he went to the coffee shop. Coming back from there in less than a minute.

They then drove to an abandoned building. Once inside, the guy introduced himself and handed him a coin.

-И? - Asked the man, expecting rituals or something paranormal.

-This coin will grant you a wish. Just toss it. - Said Ryan tentatively stepping away from Frank.

With a heavy sigh, he tossed the coin. After gaining height, it stopped resisting gravity and went into free fall downwards. The coin fell in an empty room. Then its image began to slowly become transparent. until it disappeared completely.

There was silence in the yellow two-storey house. For most people, it was a normal Saturday morning. But not for Lisa. Tiptoeing downstairs, she flinched at every creak of the stairs. She wasn't supposed to be heard. Finally stepping on the floor of the ground floor, the girl began to sneak towards her parents' room. Her dad had returned yesterday and because of the long drive, her mum had sent him to bed. To all of Lisa and Frank's objections, they were told that they would spend the whole day together tomorrow. Dad even promised to take them to the park and feed them candyfloss to their hearts' content. Reaching their room, the girl quietly turned the knob and stepped inside. After making sure she wasn't discovered she got into a stance. Prepared herself. And at the shouts that it was time to wake up, she jumped into bed with all her might, wrapping her father in her arms.

Waking from a strange sensation, Frank slowly opened his eyes. His ears were ringing and his vision and hearing didn't want to return to normal for a minute. But when he was able to realise where he was, tears rolled down his face.

-Stop sleeping. - Said the girl with her arms at her side and pouted.

Seeing the creature dearest to his heart, he did not think to enclose her in an embrace. Pressing Lisa against him, he could not believe his happiness. Was all that he had experienced was a nightmare. Inside, he prayed to all the gods and the devil that it was.

-"Dad, aren't we going to the park today? - Asked the restless little lump, trying to crawl out of his arms at the same time.

The moment he heard those words, everything in him sank. No! He wouldn't let it happen again. His family wouldn't make a move out of the house tonight.

-Sorry, darling, Daddy's not feeling well. So why don't we spend the day at home? - Said Frank in a slightly shaky voice.

-But you promised, didn't you? - The girl said angrily, throwing off her futile attempts to get out.

-And we'll order cake and pizza. No, any food of your choice. - Swallowing a lump in his throat, Castle said. Not noticing the looks his wife was throwing at him for making such promises.

Nightmare or not, his family would be staying home tonight.
