Chapter 277: Chapter 34. Mjolnir!!!
[Arc4] - 34. Mjolnir!!!
---
Lightning roared through the air, a terrifying force capable of disintegrating all matter. The one wielding this power was none other than a genuine divine artifact. There was no way anything in this world could withstand the power of this hammer.
Especially since...
Beatrice stared blankly at the left hand pressing down on Thor's Hammer. The lion's head on the left shoulder glared at her menacingly, as if it were alive.
"Oh my~ things might not be so bad after all," the blonde boy squinted his eyes.
Cyd twisted his neck, gazing eerily at the small yet fiercely aggressive Beatrice in front of him.
"But 'I' can be quite troublesome, you know," the blonde boy waved his hand casually.
Almost immediately after his words fell, dozens of shining Noble Phantasms rained down toward Cyd.
With a light sigh, all the Noble Phantasms changed trajectory mid-air and embedded themselves into the ground.
"Well, maybe 'I' am not that troublesome," the blonde boy shrugged.
The golden-armored woman looked displeased.
Something felt off, like everything was progressing too quickly. Then again, this was understandable; after all, El-Melloi II was involved, and it was only natural for countless secrets to be revealed.
Miyu subconsciously grabbed Cyd's clothes, her always-calm expression now shaken. She recognized these two people, but absolutely did not want to see them again.
"Ah… my stomach," El-Melloi II clutched his belly and took a few steps back.
Even though he had mentally prepared himself, this was too much!
"Are you alright?" The red-haired boy, though currently shirtless, worriedly supported El-Melloi II's arm.
"I… I'm fine." El-Melloi II coughed lightly and draped his red cloak over the red-haired boy.
"Miyu, come back with us," after a moment of contemplation, the golden-haired woman extended her hand toward Miyu.
"I… I don't want to!" Miyu bit her lip and shook her head vigorously.
"Fine, we never intended to ask for your consent anyway," the golden-haired woman snapped her fingers. Dozens of golden ripples appeared behind her. "Beatrice, stop fooling around and finish them."
"You think I don't want to?! Angelica, this guy isn't simple!" Beatrice gritted her teeth. Even with the divine arm, she couldn't pull Thor's Hammer from Cyd's grasp.
The blessing of wisdom was working furiously, gathering all surrounding information and dissecting every oddity. Within just a few breaths, Cyd found the answer.
An answer that had been right in front of him all along but had been ignored out of sheer boredom.
The answer resurfaced in his mind once more.
Still just as dull.
Combined with the Berserker class card, which apparently had a side effect of driving its user mad, it didn't have much of an impact on Cyd but made him act a bit rough.
"El-Melloi II, I'm going to flatten them all now. We can ask questions later, how about that?" Blood-red markings spread across Cyd's left arm.
"Good idea," El-Melloi II snapped his fingers, and eight stone pillars fell from the sky, crashing into the large hollow below.
"Tsk, pulling cheap tricks," Angelica frowned slightly, her golden ripples shifted, aiming toward El-Melloi II.
"Oh my~ it's not polite to use other people's treasures so carelessly," the blonde boy swayed as he stood in front of El-Melloi II, "how boring, big sister."
The red-haired boy draped in the red cloak silently stood beside the blonde boy.
"Will you two put on some clothes already?!" Illya shouted, covering her face.
Black dragon scales rose, lifting the unconscious Gray and Miyu, placing them beside El-Melloi II in the Gordius Wheel. Cyd's lips curled into a mad grin.
No more worries about collateral damage now.
Beatrice's expression stiffened as the force from Thor's Hammer increased.
"Angelica, deal with this guy first!" Beatrice's face flushed as she gripped Thor's Hammer with both hands. "Damn it, how could Heracles possess such strength?!"
"Don't underestimate the power capable of bearing the world," Cyd swung Thor's Hammer single-handedly toward Angelica.
"It's just a tool," dazzling chains extended from the ripples, binding Beatrice. Angelica waved her hand, releasing countless Noble Phantasms, but instead of aiming at Cyd, they shot into a kaleidoscopic formation, looping endlessly.
"Acceleration, huh? Trying to escape my influence through sheer speed?" Cyd dragged his axe-sword, striding toward Angelica and Beatrice. The lion's eyes on his shoulder flared up like flames.
Angelica snapped her fingers.
The repeatedly accelerating Noble Phantasms vanished—not disappeared, but simply became too fast for the naked eye to track.
"This is our power. Despair, and then vanish."
"Ah~ is it only power you have?" The blonde boy sighed with mild exasperation.
Clang—!
Angelica's face froze as her accelerated Noble Phantasm struck Cyd, only to be deflected, turning into a bright speck in the night sky. There was no reflective Noble Phantasm involved, just sheer, unyielding hardness.
"What's the matter? Is that all?"
Cyd pressed forward, advancing through Angelica's barrage of Noble Phantasms as if they were nothing more than insignificant raindrops.
"Beatrice, use your Noble Phantasm!" Angelica instinctively took a step back.
"Got it!" Beatrice grinned viciously, as torrents of lightning descended from the sky, striking her colossal hammer.
"Smash it all, Mjolnir!!!"
As the roaring lightning surged forward, Cyd stopped in his tracks. The [Reforged Pandora] slid from his back, transforming mid-air into a staff that fell into his left hand.
"Scatter into elemental dust!" Beatrice laughed as she brought Thor's Hammer crashing down.
The legendary godly lightning, said to shatter all things, struck down toward Cyd.
"Thor? Then let me show you the wrath of the King of Gods," Cyd raised the staff.
Arcs of lightning danced in the air, thick clouds covered the sky, and deafening thunder roared. Blinding bolts of lightning gathered at the staff's tip.
Boom—!
The blinding beam pierced through the divine lightning, grazing Beatrice and shooting into the sky.
Tiny arcs of electricity crackled on Beatrice's body, the high temperature causing her hair to curl. Her face stiffened—just a moment ago, she had been one step away from utter obliteration.
Without hesitation, Angelica raised her hand, summoning a golden ripple beside her, from which the not-quite-sword EA slowly emerged.
Only the ultimate sword from her treasury could match Cyd. If she didn't use it, they'd all fall here.
"How disgraceful," yet with her full attention on Cyd, Angelica didn't notice the blonde boy, who had been playing idle all this time, suddenly appear behind her. "You've completely tarnished the King of Heroes's reputation."
As EA descended, the blonde boy casually grabbed it.
"By the way, you'll need to return this to me as well," the blonde boy quickly reached into the ripple and pulled out a chain.
"You!" Angelica's face twisted.
"Oh my~ is now really the time to look at me?" The blonde boy stuck out his tongue.
Angelica's eyes widened sharply. In that instant, Cyd had already rushed forward, bringing the massive axe-sword down onto her abdomen.
Boom—!
Unfortunately, her golden armor didn't protect her stomach, and the immense force knocked her unconscious, darkness clouding her vision.
As light scattered, an Archer class card slid from her body, falling at Cyd's feet. Angelica, now dressed in casual clothing, slumped limply over the axe-sword.
"Tch!"
Beatrice took a step back as a kaleidoscopic formation appeared behind her.
"You're not getting away either."
A black and gold trident pierced the ground, sending cracks rippling outward. Torrents of seawater erupted, blasting Beatrice into the sky.
"Guh... guh..."
Beatrice clutched her throat with one hand while swinging Thor's Hammer wildly with the other, but she couldn't shatter the formless water.
"El-Melloi II, what's the conductivity of seawater again?" Cyd raised his left hand and snapped his fingers, tiny arcs of lightning crackling between them.
"It's—"
Boom—!
A massive thunderbolt struck the watery prison enveloping Beatrice.
Her body now charred, Beatrice plummeted from the sky, and Cyd casually swung his axe-sword to catch her.
At a glance, Beatrice and Angelica looked like two salted fish drying on Cyd's axe-sword, though one of them was a bit overcooked.
"It's about time to confess everything," Cyd sighed softly, placing one foot on the Archer class card on the ground, "Right?"
"Yeah, yeah," the blonde boy, who had been trying to sneak away with the class card, obediently nodded.
