I Flirted with the General in the Zerg Empire [Interstellar]

Ch 23

The Cunning Female Zerg

The two antennae on He Yi’s head twisted together, almost forming a long braided rope. How long had it been? The female Zerg’s teasing techniques had improved significantly.

Fine, fine, I won’t be angry anymore.

Especially considering how obedient and pleasing the other party was.

He turned around to look at the female Zerg, who was lowering his eyes and submitting docilely. With a serious tone, He Yi said, “Next time, listen. If you’re hurt, you must get treatment, understand?”

As he spoke, he reached out a finger and gently tapped the female Zerg’s forehead.

The female Zerg kept his head down, not daring to meet the male Zerg’s gaze, afraid that his laughter-filled blue eyes and the smile secretly curling his lips would be noticed. By the zerg gods, he really was listening carefully to his master’s teachings, and there was no mockery intended at all.

It’s just that… he was both touched and amused.

Touched by the male Zerg’s care and concern. Amused by how He Yi, clearly happy, was still trying to maintain a stern and fierce demeanor. It was just too cute!

“Mhm, mhm, there won’t be a next time.” The female Zerg nodded, quickly agreeing, putting on a serious expression as if carefully taking notes, while trying hard to hide the twinkling laughter about to spill from his eyes.

“You think there will be a next time? No more injuries from now on!” The male Zerg narrowed his dark eyes and interrupted harshly, scolding, “You—”

“…Mmph.”

The female Zerg silenced him with a kiss.

After the kiss, the prideful male Zerg finally revealed a satisfied smile, like a sly fox. The little Zerg in his heart waved a tiny pink handkerchief and sighed toward the sky:

Ah, ah, ah, the cunning female Zerg has learned to use kisses to solve problems.

If one isn’t enough, then give another.

Sigh, his happy life was just around the corner.

On the third day after the evolution breakthrough, as the morning sunlight filtered through the heavy curtains and spilled into the room, He Yi opened his drowsy eyes.

“Turn off the alarm.”

As soon as the words left his mouth, the gentle breeze caressing his cheek instantly dissipated, and the spicy scent of roasted deqin bird (spicy roasted chicken) lingering in the air faded away. This soft breeze came and went without a trace—it was the most common simulated wake-up alarm in Zerg society.

“Achoo!”

“Achoo, achoo!”

He Yi rubbed his nose and decided to replace the spicy deqin bird scent in the alarm with a salt and pepper deqin bird flavor. The spicy scent was just too pungent.

“Master, are you awake?” Ah Zhao pushed open the door, only to be greeted by the sight of his master rolling around in bed.

“Ahem, ahem.” He Yi’s flailing stopped abruptly, and then he quickly got up from the bed, pretending nothing had happened, smoothing out the strands of hair scattered over his forehead with a stern face. He hadn’t expected his little habit of staying in bed to be discovered so soon.

He almost forgot—last night, he had shared a room with Ah Zhao. Of course, it was the largest room in the villa, reserved for male Zergs.

This had been He Yi’s suggestion.

In fact, in the Zerg society, male Zergs never allowed any female Zerg to enter their private quarters. Even when they favored a female Zerg, it was always in the female’s room, and they would return to their own space afterward.

So, when He Yi suggested that Zhao should sleep with him last night, Zhao was both surprised and delighted, wearing an expression like he’d just been hit by a pie falling from the sky and couldn’t figure out which way was up.

Apparently, for He Yi, sharing the bed seemed like a natural progression as their relationship deepened. But to Zhao, it felt like an honor bestowed upon him by his master.

An honor just for him.

Zhao’s eyes sparkled as he quickly stepped forward to retrieve the clothes that had been specially hung out that morning. “Master, may I help you dress?”

He Yi sighed and rubbed his forehead, unwilling to dampen his partner’s enthusiasm. “Go ahead.” He spread his arms and allowed his partner, who was a bit clumsy, to dress him. He figured he’d let it pass as a bit of fun.

“These clothes really suit you.”

He Yi raised an eyebrow and looked at his partner’s outfit for the day. It was the most exquisite and expensive formal attire from the batch He Yi had ordered online last time. It consisted of three layers: an outer black cloak that trailed on the ground, a golden satin belt tied at the back of the middle layer, and an inner white garment made from rare, intricately woven fabric.

As He Yi’s gentle gaze swept over, Zhao held his breath and suppressed the excitement bubbling up inside him.

The male Zerg sincerely complimented, “Today, Ah Zhao is elegant, graceful, dashing, and charming…” He continued with a long string of extravagant praise without missing a beat, his expression unflinching.

Finally, he concluded, “You look absolutely stunning!”

He Yi silently mused to himself: a harmonious married life begins with compliments. Perfect.

In his heart, Zhao made a little victory sign.

Today’s affection score from the master: +1, +2, +3…

Suppressing his delight, Zhao carefully smoothed out every wrinkle in his master’s clothes, while his heart thumped wildly with each word of praise from He Yi. Even so, he kept his hands steady, ensuring every detail of He Yi’s outfit was immaculate.

Normally, his partner would only change out of his loungewear right before leaving the house, but today he had changed early, even before breakfast. Puzzled, He Yi asked, “Why the early change? Can’t wait to go out?”

As Zhao was tying the belt, his hands paused, and a blush crept up his cheeks. He pursed his lips and made up a random excuse, “I tried it on earlier, and I didn’t feel like taking it off again.”

How could he tell his master that he had already spent over an hour happily posing in front of the mirror, wearing this outfit? Just thinking about today, wearing the formal clothes his beloved master gave him to go to the marriage registration office and officially register as his master’s mate, made him feel so blissfully happy he could faint.

As soon as the belt was tied, He Yi couldn’t resist pulling his partner close, pressing their bodies together, and playfully biting Zhao’s neck. He took a deep sniff. “Smells so good.”

“What’s this scent? I don’t remember smelling it before.”

“Does master not like it? I’ll wash it off right away.” Zhao’s brows furrowed slightly, feeling a little frustrated. He regretted wearing this supposedly most popular luxury fragrance among male Zergs this morning.

It was even a classic scent—what a disappointment!

He Yi grabbed Zhao’s wrist, ignoring his attempt to pull away, and drew him back into his arms, sighing softly, “No rush, just don’t wear it next time.”

“The natural scent of my Zhao is the best.” His thin lips curled into a small smile, and although his eyes were deep, they glimmered with gentle warmth.

At the marriage registration office.

With their fingers tightly intertwined, He Yi and Zhao stepped through the door, only to be stunned by the overwhelming number of female Zergs inside. There were barely any male Zergs in sight.

In the Zerg society, marriage registration consisted of three steps: first, taking a number and registering, then signing a prenuptial agreement, and finally the vows. Since the first two steps could be completed by the female Zergs alone, the registration office had a special VIP reception room for males. Most male Zergs waited in the reception room until the females completed the process, only appearing for the vows.

“Master, why don’t you go to the reception room for a bit? I’ll finish the paperwork and come find you right after,” Zhao suggested, tilting his head to seek his master’s opinion.

“No need, let’s do it together.” He Yi held his partner’s hand tightly, unwilling to let go. How could he possibly leave his partner alone at such an important moment?

To add weight to his argument, He Yi glanced around the room and spotted a black-haired male Zerg in the distance. Pointing him out, he said, “Look, there’s a male Zerg over there too!”

Zhao followed his gaze, and as the black-haired male turned around, the female Zerg next to him also turned, revealing his face. “That’s Lord Hila and Adjutant Xi.”

He Yi nodded, teasing with an air of seriousness, “Look, even Adjutant Xi has a male Zerg accompanying him. You wouldn’t want to be envious or jealous, right?”

Zhao pursed his lips, glancing at Adjutant Xi, who was standing a half step behind Lord Hila, slightly bowing. Then he looked down at his own hand, which was tightly held by his master. He thought to himself: who’s envious of whom, really?

“I’m not jealous,” he explained, lowering his gaze. Jealousy was a major taboo for female Zergs—it would make the master dislike them.

He Yi couldn’t help but smile helplessly, chuckling softly as he said, “Alright, you’re not jealous. It’s just that your lord can’t bear to be apart from you for even a moment and wants to stay by your side all the time, okay?”

The tall, stubborn female Zerg’s cheeks instantly flushed. “I-I also… want to be with my master all the time.”

Blushing, the female Zerg snuck a glance at the male zerg beside him.

Wow, his master really knew how to say the right things!

Seeing the blush deepen on the female Zerg’s face, the male Zerg’s eyes sparkled mischievously. Suddenly, he wiped the smile off his face, frowning as if displeased, and said in a cold tone, “Zhao, you’re acting really out of line right now.”

“Huh?” The female Zerg was stunned for a second.

The male Zerg extended two slender fingers, gently lifting the female’s fair chin. He leaned in closer, inch by inch, until their lips were about to touch, their noses nearly brushing. Then, abruptly, he pulled away, grinning as he watched the female’s long lashes tremble and his jawline tense. “You’re so beautiful—it’s outrageous.”

The female Zerg’s heart: So thrilling!.
