2. The Blue Dragon Guild’s Janitor

It’s your first day at work, and you’re nervously standing in front of the Blue Dragon Guild when someone slaps you on the back.

“Ouch!”

I could tell it was a high-ranked Hunter by the pungent flavor of his hand. For example…….

“Sister Min’a!”

“How was your weekend?”

……Like Woo MinAh.

Hee Na smirked as she gently rubbed her hands over her spicy back.

Now that I knew that Wu Min’er was a high-ranking person in the Blue Dragon Guild, I felt a new sense of familiarity with her.

“To think that I’m the golden cord!

As long as Wu Min’er is in this guild and this relationship is not broken, I will not be fired from this company.

The muscles in his face continued to melt as he thought about it.

Woo Min-ah, who had been watching Hee-na’s face, made a strange expression.

Hee-na was very surprised because even though they had the same cold demeanor, his attitude was completely bossy.

Woo MinAh giggled as if she read HeeNa’s expression.

Hee-na shook her head at the unintelligible sound. All Hee-na had done was to answer Kang Mok-hyun’s questions.

“Why, you know, you said you removed the slime without using a special solution? Wow, that’s not easy. You must be good at housekeeping.”

Woo Min-ah patted Hee-na’s shoulder in admiration. Hee-na was shaken by the touch and tried to assess the situation.

“Are you talking about cleaning the mud off my shoes? Did you need a special solution for that?

For some reason, she’d triggered her ‘wild fingertips’ while polishing the heel of her shoe. If I had to guess, I’d say it did a great job of removing the slime.

While she was lost in thought, Wu Min’er led Hee Na back into the Blue Dragon Guild.

“Anyway, we should get to work.”

Hee-Na thought as she was half-dragged by Woo-Min-Ah.

“Wow, I might have caught two ropes.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have some kimchi soup on your first day?

My first day was hectic, as it is at most companies.

I signed my employment contract, got to know my departmental teammates, and got a briefing on what to expect.

Hee-Na was given a simple uniform because she was joining the environmental beautification team in the facilities management department. It was a blue work T-shirt and waterproof pants.

“Oh. Not as bad as I thought.

Hee-Na was surprisingly pleased with the sleek design of the outfit. It was easy to move around in, and the material was stain-resistant.

“Since she’s new, she’ll only be in charge of the fifth floor for a while, which isn’t too hard to manage since it’s the floor used by regular employees.”

Kim Hwa-soon, the team leader of the environmental beautification team, said.

She is a middle-aged woman who worked in cleaning for many years before being scouted and hired as a team leader at Cheongnyong. She had a friendly face, but she exuded a strange charisma.

Hee-na could see where this charisma came from. It was the experience and longevity of someone at the top of their game.

As a member of the ‘housekeeper’ class, Hee-na admired him immensely.

“Ms. Hee-na, your fingertips are numb. I heard from the head of HR that you are very good at cleaning. Somehow, you pretend to be good at everything I teach you. I’m very happy.”

Kim Hwa-soon complimented Hee-na. Hee-na blushed and said humbly.

That wasn’t the only thing Hee-Na learned about her upcoming job as she followed Kim around for the afternoon.

The environmental beautification team looked like a simple cleaning crew, but there were a few Awakeners in the mix.

They weren’t high ranking, just Fs and Es, with the occasional D like Hee-na.

“Since this place is frequented by Hunters, there’s a lot of hard work to be done, so we brought in non-combat Awakened, and even though their rank is low, their physical strength is higher than the average person.”

“Yeah, right.”

Hee-na, who was ranked D but had less physical strength than rank F, nodded inwardly.

“Oh, I’m only going to be on the fifth floor for a while, so I’ll be fine, but it might be a little harder if I have to cover the other floors with the Hunters, they’re a little rough around the edges. If you’re having a hard time, let me know so I can warn the other team leaders.”

Hee-Na sighed inwardly.

“Somehow, for an environmental beautification job, the salary is much higher than average……. It must be hard work.

Still, she thought, I’m lucky to have a job at a company that pays me extra money for working extra hours.

Hee-na had always worked in overtime hells with no extra pay. Compared to that, this place was heaven.

Kim Hwa-soon looked back at Hee-na as if she had a final thought.

“Oh, and by the way. Ms. Hee-na. You know Kang jin-hyeon, the number one hunter in Korea?”

“Yes. I know.”

They had already met twice.

“Hunter Kang jin-hyeon might mess up or break something. You should check …… often.”

“Yeah.”

Considering their recent encounter, that seemed to be the case. When Hee-na scratched her head as if to ask what was wrong, Kim Hwa-soon laughed heartily.

“But there’s this thing called our guild’s image, and Hunter Kang jin-hyeon is kind of the face of our guild…… You know you can’t talk about things like that out in the open, libel, that sort of thing.”
