Chapter 100: Chapter 100 Breaking The Tower
The Creation Engine's spear lit up, shifting slightly before a surge of energy erupted from the spear, sending a large spear of hard light out.
A radiant beam of light tore through the air as it barreled toward the Herrscher of the Void. The spear narrowly missed its target, slamming into the tower wall instead, leaving a jagged hole that radiated heat and fragments of light.
"You missed me," the Herrscher of the Void quipped, her voice dripping with mockery.
Orion continued to control the Creation Engine, making it attack with its spear in a series of stabs.
But the Herrscher moved like a shadow, weaving through the attacks with an almost mocking grace. Her voice echoed in the air.
"Is this the best you can do? You're just dragging this out, Orion. How long can that thing protect you?"
The Herrscher of the Void sent more spears of crackling energy, which rained down with relentless precision, each one streaking toward Orion like a comet aimed for destruction.
Standing atop the Creation Engine, Orion controlled it to deflect the onslaught. Sparks danced in the cold air as the metallic clang of each deflection echoed across the tower floor.
Every strike he blocked and every attack he sent took a toll on his energy reserves, which were dwindling rapidly.
Outside the Tower of Babel, another battle was unfolding.
A snowstorm blew around the tower as the skies filled with darkened clouds and glowing fissures of Honkai energy, on the ground below a battlefield between MOTH and the Honkai beasts
A relentless snowstorm raged around the tower, its icy tendrils whipping through the air with ferocious intensity. Snow swirled like a chaotic dance, carried by fierce winds so fierce they seemed to howl with purpose.
The once-pristine white landscape was broken by flashes of crimson and violet light as glowing fissures of Honkai energy cracked across the darkened skies.
Below, the battlefield was a maelstrom of chaos.
MOTH soldiers fought with unwavering determination, their ranks a mix of discipline and desperation.
The air vibrated with the sharp crack of gunfire, the hum of energy weapons, and the guttural roars of Honkai beasts. Each creature was a grotesque fusion of organic malice and crystalline corruption, their jagged forms brimming with the same energy that fractured the skies.
The Honkai beasts swarmed like a relentless tide, their monstrous caring at the MOTH defense line. Screeches and roars created a deafening noise as they charged toward the tower MOTH was guarding.
When suddenly in the middle of the battle, a huge beam of light fell from the sky—an enormous spear! This was the spear thrown by the Creation Engine that 'missed' its mark. The spear crushed many Honkai beasts on impact. The battlefield fell silent for a moment as everyone was stunned by the sudden impact of the giant spear.
The commander's voice cut through the chaos like steel. He remembered Orion's precise words—"When the spear forms, aim for the tower's core. That's its weak point."
Without hesitation, he ordered his troops to focus all firepower on the glowing mark that had emerged from the tower. It pulsed like a heartbeat, impossible to miss even in the thick haze of battle.
The MOTH soldiers didn't hold back. Rockets streaked across the sky, the ground trembled under the thunder of artillery, and bullets rained down like a metallic storm. Each impact chipped away at the tower's defenses, sparks flying and fragments crumbling as the combined assault converged on the mark.
Amid the targeting fire, a woman, her features obscured by her gear, perched atop one of the military vehicles.
In a single, fluid motion, she created a bow and loosed an arrow glowing with energy. It tore through the air silently, piercing the tower's core and dealing a critical blow. Before anyone could spot her, she vanished into the battlefield.
Meanwhile, at the tower, the Herrscher of the Void floated above Orion.
Her gaze bore down on him, who was lying on the floor of the tower, his body battered and bloodied. Yet, even as pain coursed through him, his piercing eyes remained fixed on the glowing mark, unwavering and resolute.
"Still defiant, even in the face of failure?" She sneered, her voice like velvet laced with venom.
With a flicker of contempt, she raised her foot and stomped down on his hand, eliciting a sharp gasp of pain. "Pitiful. I'll end this now," she declared, energy crackling around her.
But her triumph was short-lived.
A thunderous roar reverberated through the tower as its defense was broken.
The Herrscher's smug expression faltered, her eyes darting upward just in time to see the structure's core collapse. Massive chunks of the tower broke away, crashing to the ground in a deafening cascade of destruction.
"What? Impossible!" She hissed, her voice edged with disbelief.
Orion, through gritted teeth, allowed himself the faintest of smiles. His plan had worked.
The internal and external attacks had converged perfectly, dismantling the tower protected by the Herrscher of the Void's power. As the tower crumbled, the icy Siberian winds howled through the exposed remains, signaling a hard-fought victory.
The Herrscher of the Void's domain, her towering symbol of power, was no more.
