Chapter 99: Chapter 99 Waiting For A Chance
In the confined tower space, a white blur darted and twisted, moving with the grace of a butterfly dancing in a storm.
Orion's figure flickered in and out of view, his speed and precision almost unnatural. Each movement was a calculated answer to the Herrscher of the Void's relentless assault.
"Let's see where else you can run!" Her voice rang out, tinged with irritation and a growing edge of frustration.
The spear attacks came faster now, their paths erratic and their force devastating. To most, these attacks were a death sentence, their trajectory seemingly unavoidable.
Yet Orion weaved through them with fluid precision, each dodge leaving the attacks hitting nothing but empty air.
Despite the tight surroundings and the increasing fury of her strikes, Orion remained unscathed by the attacks.
The Herrscher of the Void, hovering above, narrowed her glowing eyes.
What she thought was supposed to be a simple fight was becoming increasingly aggravating to her.
At first, she dismissed Orion as just another intruder—a bug to be swatted away. But this "bug" was beginning to challenge her control of the battlefield. Her irritation was growing, feeding her wrath further.
Outside, her soldiers were fighting against the MOTH soldiers. She had no intention of letting Orion or his allies escape. Bringing her hands together, the air around her pulsed with energy.
Shards of violet light coalesced into enormous crystals, their jagged forms crackling with Honkai energy.
They formed a prison around Orion, boxing him in, while her spear attacks closed the remaining gaps.
The once open space became a lethal cage, every exit sealed with her attacks.
Orion felt a crushing weight settle over him, weighing down every inch of his body. Each move became a struggle, like being stuck in quicksand.
The Herrscher of the Void's power warped imaginary and real space, blending them into a seamless domain where she ruled absolutely. In this space, she is able to utilize her abilities, making it a difficult fight for Orion.
"Do you think you can escape?" The Herrscher's voice echoed, regal and dripping with condescension. Her presence seemed to fill every corner of the shimmering, fractured space around him.
The crystalline cage that now surrounded Orion gleamed with an otherworldly brilliance.
The jagged edges closed in on him, leaving no room to maneuver, no opening for escape. The Herrscher raised a hand, her slender fingers curling slightly as she summoned her power.
Four Void Spears materialized around her, their sharp tips humming with destructive energy.
With a graceful wave of her hand, the spears flew forward, their velocity tearing through the space between them and the crystal prison.
The impact was deafening as the spears pierced the crystalline barrier. Shards of glowing fragments scattered in all directions.
"It's over," she declared, stepping back with a smirk of triumph, her golden eyes gleaming with satisfaction.
Her posture was relaxed, confident, as though this was just another routine extermination. There was no doubt in her mind—Orion Astra was finished.
But then, the stillness was shattered. A faint tremor rippled through the broken crystals. The Herrscher's smile faltered, her eyes narrowing as a sense of danger prickled at her instincts. The fragments began to shift, vibrating violently as an immense force stirred within them.
Before she could turn around, a massive spear, nearly 100 meters long, shot out from where Orion Astra had been. It seemed impossible for such a huge thing to just suddenly appear.
The spear struck behind the Herrscher of Void, causing the space around her to become unstable. The tower's space expanded to create a larger battlefield.
The battlefield stretched wider, its edges dissolving into chaos as the Herrscher of the Void raised her eyes toward a shadow breaking through the ruined ceiling above.
Orion's new form—a towering, Creation Engine the one Cocalia had used in the final stelleron fight appeared surrounded by the flicker of flames and debris—descended like a force of nature.
The Creation Engine's massive, armored frame exuded a commanding presence, nothing like the flimsy constructs she had obliterated before.
Orion stood atop the Creation Engine, his silhouette illuminated by the sparking arcs of energy coursing along its joints.
His posture was calm but resolute; despite one of the Herrscher of Void's Spear still stuck in his body, he ignored it as though it were a mere nuisance.
His eyes, sharp and unwavering, met the Herrscher's gaze. The defiance in his expression was palpable, a direct challenge she could not ignore.
"Attack!" His voice cut through the air, resonating with authority.
The Herrscher of the Void scowled, her frustration flaring into fury. "Get down here!" she roared.
Her hands clenched, and the air around her rippled unnaturally as she bent the fabric of space to her will. The ground beneath her cracked and shifted as she readied herself for his assault.
Without hesitation, Orion commanded the Creation Engine's massive arm into motion.
It swung downward with devastating force, the momentum igniting a trail of flames that burst outward on impact.
The sheer force sent visible shockwaves rippling through the debris-laden battlefield, momentarily obscuring her figure in dust and firelight.
Though he had seen this version of the Creation Engine only briefly before, its sheer power etched itself into his memory, and now, that strength was his to wield.
He knew, however, that time was not on his side. The pain in his body might have been ignored for now, but his energy would not last long, and he would not win in a battle of attrition, so the countdown was ticking.
Three minutes—that was all he had to win this fight.
The Herrscher of the Void emerged from the flames, her expression twisted with fury.
Her hands wove through the air, and the space around her shimmered before materializing into jagged, glowing cubes and a blazing arrow of concentrated Honkai energy. She launched them at Orion, her aim precise and relentless.
Orion Astra calmly raised his hand, catching the arrow with a defensive move.
The crystal spear he had thrown earlier now moved toward the Herrscher of Space, forcing her to use her space abilities to defend against it. The arrows she fired dissipated before hitting Orion.
Orion's eyes narrowed. "She can't attack and defend simultaneously," he muttered, his thoughts razor-sharp.
He saw it: the tiny window of opportunity he needed to win.
The Herrscher of Void transferred the spear to the real world, not wanting Orion Astra to use it against her. Little did she know, this was the chance Orion Astra had been waiting for!
