Earlier With Mei outside the infirmary.

Mei Pov

I stand outside the infirmary guarding the entrance in case any zombies arrive. While guarding I have a deep sense of regret and loneliness. The only person who truly accepts me is Alpha and Luna-chan. I walk towards a nearby window and look up to the sky.

Me: Alpha-chan, Luna-chan where are you two...

I look down from the sky as I watch all my former classmates who are now mindless corpses controlled by the honkai. Some of them also become honkai beasts, their painful screams of agony begging to be put to rest.

Me: This is all my fault...

???: "Look at them, only mindless corpses controlled by the honkai. They got what they deserved.

Me: No, They don't deserve all of this...

???: "Tch, you should be grateful dear host, I give you power that makes you stronger than these low creatures. Perhaps I should teach you a lesson that you will remember."

I've been hearing the voice since I started getting bullied in school. The voice suddenly stops, and I start feeling a massive amount of honkai energy flowing in my body. I then see the zombies in the yard running into the building toward my location.

Me: WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!

???: "I am teaching you to be grateful to me, my coward host."

Me: You are putting the others in danger.

???: "That's the entire point host~ You can only save them if you give in to me~"

I then start hearing the mass footsteps getting closer and closer. I clutch my hand harder while thinking about my decisions.

???: "They won't save you, my host. They will save themselves and leave you to die. Give into your hatred."

The sound of footsteps is getting closer and closer. I keep thinking about what the voice said to me, soon enough the zombies will arrive at my location. The voice keeps saying many things trying to convince me and get me to hate everything. I eventually break and give up before slowly giving in.

Me: All the pain... All the suffering they caused... I... Hate them all...

???: "Good, give in and become a herrscher. You will be able to know where your beloved childhood friends are.

Me: I can see Alpha and Luna again. I... accept...

I feel several lightning sparks from my body while my eyes glow purple. I look down the hallway and see the zombies running down the hallways toward me. The lightning sparks start to intensify and damage my surroundings.

???: "Good job my host, now allow me to give you your reward."

I then start getting a headache and losing control of my body as I slowly give in. Eventually, my vision slowly goes black as I am no longer in control of my body.

At the same time in the underground lab.

3rd person Pov

Both girls in glass labeled subject 001 and 002 who gains consciousness a couple of hours ago, suddenly feel the spike of honkai energy and are attracts to it. It took them a while to figure out that the honkai energy signature belongs to a new herrscher. But to them, the honkai energy has a faint honkai signature of their childhood friend. They try to move and break out of the glass tank but fail because they lack energy.

???: Onee-san did you feel that honkai energy spike?

???: Yes I did feel it, Luna.

Luna: That honkai energy spike... I sense a faint signature of Mei Senpai's honkai energy.

???: It seems our childhood friend, finally snapped and give into her hatred.

Luna: Indeed, Alpha onee-san she gave in.

Alpha: Then it's time for us to get out.

Both the girl's eyes glow red once again.

Alpha and Luna: We are coming to you, Mei. Our reunion is close.

Present

Alpha Pov

Time: Midnight several hours after the honkai energy spike, Location: Underground Lab Near the Outskirts of Nagazora

My younger sister Luna and I are still inside the glass tank for several more hours while we trying to regain our strength and energy. After a while, I tried to move both of my arms again and succeed. I move my hands into my view and see both of my are now mechanical. Those scientists did this to me, I also see my younger sister Luna's leg is now mechanical.

Luna: Onee-san my legs... They don't feel human anymore, it feels so weird yet powerful.

Me: Same with me but my arms.

This certainly made me a bit upset but thanks to those scientists we are powerful. I clench my right hand hard before concentrating several honkai energy into it and eventually punching the tank's glass.

*CRASH

As soon as the glass of the tank shatters to pieces because of my punch. I immediately fall to the ground due to the water's force.

*Thud

Me: Ugh, that hurts... It seems my body is still weaker than I thought...

Luna: ONEE-SAN ARE YOU OKAY?

Me: Yeah I am fine, it seems my body still needs to recover from all of that.

Luna: Onee-san I see some stuff that I think is meant for you on that table over there.

I slowly attempt to stand up while balancing myself before looking at the direction that Luna is pointing at. I see several clothes and weapons that I assume that it's for me. On the left table a red scarf, a black vest, a black jacket with a gradient color, gradually turning red from top to bottom, a pair of black ankle boots, and a katana. I slowly walk towards the table and have a closer look.

Me: Little sister, can you close your eyes for a moment? I am going to change clothes.

Luna: A-ah okay.

After Luna closes her eyes I quickly undress the lab garment before putting on clothes that are on the table. After I am done I pick up the katana along with the sheath before strapping it to my left hip.

Me: How fitting, this feels nice to wear.

Luna: You look good in that outfit onee-san.

Me: Huh?

I look behind me to see Luna my little sister wearing the outfit on the table. I see some black spikes floating behind her along a bracelet on her left hand.

Me: Luna? How did you get out of that tank without shattering the glass?

Luna: I found out I have a natural affinity with the honkai. Then I thought of standing near the table before suddenly teleporting there.

Me: I see that pretty useful ability there.

Luna then proceeds to hug and snuggle me. I can relate to her behavior right now since she missed my touch. I smile before putting my right hand on her head and start head patting her. She instinctively leans into my hand.

Luna: I miss your touch onee-san.

Me: So do I, I miss feeling you in my arms.

After a while, she pulls back from the hug, and I notice she is no longer walking but instead floating above the ground. I look at her legs in concern, afraid she can no longer walk.

Me: Luna are you still able to walk?

Luna: I can still but prefer floating because I don't like walking in heels.

Me: At least you are still able to walk that reduces my worry a bit.

Luna: Onee-san let's get out of here.

Luna and I then start walking towards the door of the experiment room, before I could open it I heard some noise behind the door. I look at Luna before she nods and I proceed to open the door. As soon as I open the door an honkai beast named Archangel is in front of the door. Luna was surprised because of the honkai beast, I quickly got on guard. But I notice something is wrong because the archangel honkai beast doesn't look hostile to Luna and me.

Luna: Onee-san that honkai beast doesn't look hostile.

Me: I wonder why this archangel honkai beast looks... curious.

The archangel honkai beast slowly goes forward before rubbing its head to my hand. I look at Luna, confuse about what to do with this honkai beast. I slowly head pat the honkai beast, which responds with a content sound.

Luna: Aw, look onee-san it's enjoying your pats. Can we keep it?

Me: I prefer keeping a cat than an honkai beast.

Luna: Better keep your words onee-san because you are keeping the first cat that approaches you.

Me: Fine.

I look at the honkai beast who seems trying to get my attention. Luna then also looks at the honkai beast as well, out of curiosity she decides to get in front of the honkai beast and get down to its level.

Luna: Hey there, are you trying to tell us something?

The seraph class honkai beast classified archangel twirls once as an answer. It then goes behind Luna and starts gently pushing her.

Luna: *chuckles* It looks like it wants us to follow it.

Luna and I then start following the archangel honkai beast down the hallways until we reach the security room. The Archangel honkai beast then turned around in front of the door like it wanted us to enter it.

Luna: It looks like we need to enter this room, but the door is locked.

Me: We don't have time to deal with locked doors, step aside and back off.

The Archangel honkai beast seems to understand what I am going to do. Luna and the honkai beast then back up till they reach a safe distance. I get into a stance before putting my hand on the handle of my katana strap on top of my left hip.

Me: The flames of the abyss will end it all

I then start making quick strikes at the door before ending my strikes with a powerful slash.

The door immediately blasted open while getting cut into pieces, Luna and the honkai beast were taken back by sheer force when the door was blasted open. I look back at Luna who seems in awe, the honkai beast then enters the security room. I walk toward Luna to snap her out of her awe.

Luna: Onee-san, I never know you are skilled using katana.

Me: Same here, I didn't expect I still remember how to use a katana after not using it for a long time. Now, come that honkai beast is waiting for us.

Luna and I then enter the security room through the broken door before we see a second archangel honkai beast who is floating near the first one. I notice they are standing near a terminal so Luna and I walk towards the terminal. At the terminal, I start looking through it to see if I can get some information on where Luna and I at.

Me: Hmm, this could be troublesome. Most of the files and programs are password-locked and need an authorization key.

Luna: Maybe I could try to corrupt the terminal and gain access to it.

Me: That's a bad idea, the terminal could start deleting the files itself if corrupted.

Luna: Right, I didn't think about that.

I then felt something bumping at my leg, I look down and saw the Archangel Honkai beast doing it trying to get my attention. I tilt my head along raising one of my eyebrows confuse about what it's trying to tell me. The second Archangel look up at me with a keycard on their head. I slowly extend my hand to the keycard before taking it off the second Archangel's head.

Me: Thanks?

The Archangel spin twirls in response before it leaves along with the other Archangel honkai beast. I am still dumbfounded at what just happened, the weakest honkai beast in the seraph class just helped me and Luna.

Luna: Now, I really wanna keep one. It acts like a cat and it's very cute.

Me: *sigh* Yeah yeah... I'll get a cat when we eventually find a place to stay.

Luna: Fine... I'll be patient.

Me: Good. I might consider getting two cats.

I then use the keycard to access the terminal and start going through the files trying to find a program to lift the lockdown. I eventually found the program and ran it, the terminal then start executing several lines of code before a loading bar appeared. The loading bar slowly going up.

Me: This is going to take a while so... *sits on a sofa nearby and immediately gets swarm by seraph class archangel honkai beasts who want head pats.*

Luna: *Sweat drops* It seems they enjoy your presence.

Me: It's already obvious enough to tell me that.

Luna: Might as well join in *also sit on the sofa while trying to help Alpha who is being swarmed*

Time skip

Time 4:00 AM the next day, Location: Chiba Academy dorm room.

Meanwhile with the group.

Lucia Pov

I am enjoying my sleep until I feel something move on top of me waking me up. I open my eyes and see Mei sleeping on top of me, making me blush hard at this scene. Mei peacefully sleeps while snuggling on my chest.

Me: Damn it, Mei why do you have to be so adorable?!

I then unconsciously move my hand and put it on her head before slowly patting her. I look out the window and see the outside has gotten a bit brighter meaning it's still early in the morning. I then heard the door open and close, before I peek around the sofa and sees Bronya had returns with some supplies.

Me: Morning Bronya, you woke so early.

Bronya: Morning too subject Lucia, yes Bronya woke up early to loot some more supplies as well as scout out the area a bit. Bronya might have seen something.

Me: What's it Bronya?

Bronya: Bronya notices that the number of honkai beasts and zombies in the area has increased a lot. Bronya thinks of several possibilities for why this is happening.

Me: Please tell Bronya.

Bronya: Bronya did some research before all of this happened and Bronya found out about herrschers.

Me: Herrschers?

Bronya: Bronya thinks it's the cause of this honkai outbreak and the reason for a high number of honkai beasts and infected. Bronya will assume in this school there is a herrscher because the infected are surrounding the school. Bronya can't confirm if this is true or not.

Me: I see. *still unconsciously head pat Mei* Is there any information on the evacuation?

Bronya: Sadly it seems the evacuation is no longer available and everyone has got out of the city.

Me: That doesn't sound good.

Bronya: Indeed.

I then feel Mei start moving while on top of me again before eventually she opens her eyes and yawns. She blinks a couple of times before realizing that she is lying on top of me and blushing very hard.

Mei: *red and blushing very hard* I'M SO SORRY LUCIA, I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT COME OVER ME AND I FEEL COMFORTABLE IN YOUR ARMS BECAUSE YOU ARE SIMILAR TO ALPHA.

Me: E-eh... *flusttered*

Bronya: Subject Lucia, Bronya wants to ask if Subject Lucia and Mei like each other.

Mei: N-no, I am not in love with Lucia.

Bronya: Nyet, Subject Mei was snuggling a lot against Subject Lucia, and Subject Lucia and Mei seemed to enjoy it.

As soon as I heard that, Mei quickly got off me while both of us blush very hard. I look at Kiana who seems to be awake as soon as she heard what Bronya said. She has a jealous look on her face.

Mei Pov

Kiana: Mei-senpai is that true that you like Lucia-chan more than me?

Me: K-Kiana it's not how it looks like, Lucia w-was...

Kiana: Was what?

Me: U-Uhhhh....

Lucia: I was comforting her through the night, she was having nightmares.

Kiana: I see, *gets close to me* But you still love me Mei senpai?

Me: I-I still love you Kiana, but I love you, Bronya, Lucia equally as a friend.

Kiana then goes to the corner and starts sulking, Lucia and Bronya are only able to deadpan because of Kiana's childish behavior. Seeing this I slowly don't know why but only start to get annoyed. Something deep inside my heart is changing, I don't feel any more affection toward Kiana. Instead, I feel a strange pull toward Alpha even if she is far away.

Kiana: *Sulking* No, you love Lucia and Bronya more than me. You don't love me anymore.

???: "Tch, what's all this opera sulking all about, they know nothing about Alpha."

Me: I can agree with you on that one.

???: "It's clear that Alpha doesn't have any stigmata, but if she does survive we should give her a stigma"

Me: What are you planning this time?

???: "I am simply making her even closer to you my host by giving her a stigma. With that, you can track her whenever you want.

Me: You want to give her a stigmata, why?!

???: "Do you don't remember that incident during your childhood? You wanted her to be by your side. She has a deactivated half herrscher of thunder core, the stigmata will help us feed her honkai energy from your core which will eventually lead to the birth of the 2nd herrscher of thunder."

Me: SHE HAS HALF OF THE CORE?!

???: "Yes my dear host, although yours has fully reformed."

Me: We will need to talk about this later.

???: MEI... MEI, CAN YOU HEAR ME?

Me: *Snaps out* Huh? Yes, I can hear you, Lucia.

Lucia: I've been calling your name for 30 minutes already. You just went blank after seeing Kiana sulking.

Me: It's nothing I am just thinking about something.

Lucia: I see, anyways it's time for breakfast. Bronya got us some food.

Lucia, Kiana, and I sit at the dining table before Bronya serves breakfast using the food she found from scavenging earlier in the morning.

With Alpha and Luna

Luna Pov

After a while, the loading on the monitor finally finishes before it runs several codes and lifts the lockdown. Suddenly the blaring alarms stop, and only lights turn on again with some flickering. Alpha tries to get off the sofa but struggles because of the honkai beasts near her. I could only chuckle because of her failing attempts to get off the couch.

Me: *chuckles* Do you need any help onee-san?

Alpha: No, I don't need help. *gets off the sofa before accidentally tripping and falling* I need help.

Me: *helping Alpha to stand up* There, onee-san you should not overestimate yourself.

Alpha: Ugh, I don't hate these archangel honkai beasts but they can be overwhelming.

My onee-san then walks towards the terminal to get more information, while I start looking around the room trying to find something useful. I look back at the sofa and see those archangels honkai beasts are still here. I then focused back on searching the entire room for something useful, but sadly I didn't find anything.

Me: Do you find anything onee-san?

Alpha: I got some information about this place.

Me: Please do tell.

Alpha: This entire place is a branch of Babylon Labs established in 2000 under the same institutions. I have also managed to gather some other files but it's best to get out of here first and find somewhere to stay before going through them.

Me: Good idea.

Onee-san and I then walk down the lab hallways passing by rooms and ruins of the lab, dead bodies of the scientists scattered the abandoned hallways of the lab. We see a lot of testing rooms with testing tanks with test subjects, I assume that most of the test subjects are for the same project as me and onee-san. We stop walking and look at the testing tanks with the failed and deceased test subjects.

Alpha: It's a shame... All of these people don't deserve this treatment.

Me: Indeed I remember that day all of us were assigned and placed into those tanks.

Alpha: I don't understand why they decided to experiment with these poor children, what were they trying to achieve?

Me: Perhaps we should look at the file you found earlier. We should get out of here now, this place makes me sick.

Alpha: Okay.

Alpha and I then continue walking down the halls, but unknown to us the supposed "deceased" test subjects open their eyes revealing yellow eyes, a sign that they are now zombies/infected of the honkai. The infected subjects' bodies were covered by honkai energy before various types of clothing appeared on them.

A/n: Look up honkai impact zombies to see what I mean.

3rd person Pov

Alpha and Luna continue walking down the hallways before arriving at the lab lift. Both of them are about to board the lift when earsplitting glass-shattering sounds are heard everywhere. This makes Alpha and Luna very disoriented and overwhelmed until they almost pass out. After 5 minutes of constant earsplitting glass-shattering sounds, it finally stops.

Alpha: What was that sound...? Ugh, that was disorienting...

Luna: Indeed, I do wonder what caused those glasses to break.

Alpha: That will be another reason to get out of here as soon as possible.

Alpha and Luna then get on the lift but as soon as they get onto the lift two archangels rush onto the lift and hide behind Alpha and Luna. This confused both Alpha and Luna because of its behavior, Luna looks at Alpha but Alpha shrugs before activating the Lift. The lift starts going up the inclined plane slowly, as it goes up Luna decides to try to comfort the two archangels.

A/n: Look up Akira Lift to see what I meant.

Luna: Hey are you two okay?

The archangels only shake as in answer to no. They both tried to speak but Luna couldn't hear anything from the archangels. The Archangel (honkai beasts) then starts pulling Luna's hand.

Luna: Are you two trying to show me something?

Luna reluctantly follows both the archangels to the edge of the lift, one of the archangels uses its wings to point over the edge. Luna looks down into the distance and sees many yellow eyes approaching the lift. Luna's eyes widen and she quickly rushes to Alpha to alert her.

Luna: ONEE-SAN, THE INFECTED/ZOMBIES ARE COMING AFTER US.

Alpha: WHAT?! *set the lift to max speed* GOD, WHY IS THIS THING SO SLOW?!

Luna: Onee-san can't we go faster?! *slashed one of the infected that managed to get onboard*

Alpha: This is as fast as this old thing goes!?

The infected subjects keep chasing after the lift trying their hardest to kill both Alpha and Luna, Archer-class zombies try shooting both of them with their arrows while the rest rush toward them. Both Luna and Alpha try their best to hold out until the elevator reaches their destination. One of the infected tried sneaking up on Luna but Alpha quickly slashes it dead.

Alpha: You need to be more focused Luna.

Luna: Sorry, and thanks.

The two keep killing the zombies that manage to get onto the lift their best until the elevator reaches the destination. They keep defending each other's back skilled fully like they have been doing this for a long time. Dead bodies of the infected start to cover the lift, tainting it with their blood. 

Luna: *sweating* How much longer do we have to hold out?!

Alpha: Just a bit more we are almost there.

Luna: I am getting tired here!

The two sisters keep going back and forth, keeping each other's back safe as much as possible. Not long after the lift arrives at its destination with a loud clunk as the gear breaks sets in place. This quickly alerted the two sisters in the middle of their intense battle.

Alpha: *grabs Luna's hand and starts running* TIME FOR US TO GO.

Luna: *quickly follows Alpha* Where do we go?!

Alpha: I don't know just follow the signs to the exit!

While Alpha and Luna are running, the hordes of infected chases them relentlessly with intent to kill. The two archangels from earlier notice their struggle, so they go first leading Alpha and Luna to the garage area of the base.

Luna tried her best to slow down the infected as much as she could using her abilities to buy more time for both of them to run. Led by the two archangels both of them arrive at the garage area of the entire secret lab. The two archangels quickly destroyed the gear mechanism for the automatic door, making the strong metal door shut.

Alpha: *looking around the garage* Why did they lead both of us here? There is no vehicle at all.

Luna: We should try to look around first though.

Alpha: Fine, I guess we could look-

*SLAM

*SLAM

The sudden slam on the door surprised Alpha and Luna. It seems the infected haven't given up yet on getting them. In the corner of Alpha's eye, she sees the two archangels around something covered in a tarp. Luna also noticed so she gets closer as well, she immediately noticed there is something on the tarp. Luna picks up the piece of note taped onto the tarp, before showing it to Alpha.

Luna: Onee-san, look what I found on top of the cover a note.

Alpha: Huh... Let me read it.

" If you're reading this, the entire place has been evacuated. You might not remember who you are fully, but we can assure you that both of you are the most successful subjects we have had. We apologize for not being able to bring both of you with us and having to leave you both to die, but if you two manage to survive congratulations. If you were to survive, This is compensation for leaving you both behind, we have given you some outfits and equipment on the table, alongside this motorcycle as a gift to both of you."

-head scientist.

Alpha: How dare they, leave us to die here.

*SLAM

Luna: We need to get out of here now, that door won't hold them back for long.

Alpha: Right, I can vent out my anger later.

Alpha then grabs the cover before pulling it off the vehicle under it, she sees a motorcycle mentioned on the note. She immediately grows attached to the motorcycle before getting on it.

Alpha: Wow... I am speechless...

*SLAM

*SLAM

Luna: Onee-san no time to be amazed, time to get out of here.

Alpha: You're right, time to get out. But how are we going to open that gate for the garage?

Luna also gets on the motorcycle behind Alpha, while looking around the room looking for a control panel. After a couple of minutes, she isn't able to find any terminal or control panel at all for the gate. The only thing that she sees are some cables that connect to the gate. The slamming on the door keeps getting more frequent and the strong metal door starts to dent and give in. The two archangels have left Alpha and Luna somewhere else through a vent, leaving both of them alone. The strong metal door is getting weaker from the constant slamming by the infected. But no... It's not only the infected who are slamming against the door, it's something big and strong.

Alpha: I have a plan, Luna how much control do you have over your honkai ability?

Luna: Not much, I need more training and practice.

Alpha: Are you able to transfer honkai through cables and control them?

Luna: I don't know but I could try.

Luna then focuses using her ability onto the cables sending some honkai energy through it hoping that she can connect and hack the terminal to open it. She stays focused on controlling the honkai energy and guiding it through the cables until eventually, she manages to get into the terminal and start manipulating it.

Alpha: *sees the gate start to shake and move* Keep going the gate is opening.

Luna: *grunting* I am trying my best... This is hard...

Alpha: *looks at the door that is holding back the infected* Uhm, not to rush you but the door is close to breaking.

Luna: I am close to opening it... DONE IT'S OPEN WE ARE FREE.

A loud mechanical sound can be heard as the gate opens slowly. This makes Luna and Alpha excited because they getting out of here. As soon as the gate fully opens, the door that has been holding back the infected also breaks with a loud crash. It quickly reveals a Chariot honkai beast along with the zombies from earlier. Alpha quickly starts the motorcycle and steps on the gas, as the motorcycle accelerates forward.

On the other side, we see several buildings in ruins on the outskirts of Nagazora City, where most industrial complexes are. Several infected can be seen on the street in front of a loading bay of the factory until the loading bay's door blasted open as a motorcycle came out of the smoke very fast. Alpha, maneuvers around the industrial complex skilled fully before eventually rams open the gate, before using the breaks after they are a bit far from the industrial complex. 

A/n: Don't ask why there is an industrial complex on the outskirts of Nagazora City, this is my co-writer idea.

Alpha: Finally free, the air feels nice...

Luna: Indeed, it does feel nice to get out from those walls finally.

Alpha: We should now figure out where-

Alpha is suddenly interrupted by a lightning surge from the city's center. Lightning can be seen erupting into the sky breaking the dark clouds. The intense honkai energy can be feel Alpha and Luna from where they are right now.

Alpha: I guess we know where to go now.

Luna: Indeed, time to get Mei now.

With that Alpha drives both herself and Luna to the source of the lightning surge. Its time for them to meet the person who are close to them once again.
