Harry Potter: Demon Monarch

Chapter 14: Chapter -14 Stealing Underwear.

Chapter -14.

In the dark, damp cell, Arlis knelt on the ground, overwhelmed with frustration, his expression fierce despite his humble demeanor.

Yes, he was genuinely scared.

Having been a dark wizard since he turned 18, Arlis had faced his fair share of tough characters. However, meeting someone as heartless as the scar-faced man, who wasn't hesitant to stab at a moment's notice, was a first for him!

"Boss, please don't stab me, I surrender!"

As Arlis quickly yielded, the scar-faced man reluctantly put away his knife.

"What did you end up here for?" he asked coldly.

To the scar-faced man, while Arlis appeared to be a small-time thug with a cowardly personality, the fact that he had the guts to shout as soon as he entered the cell suggested that he possessed some skills, and his offense was likely serious.

"Uh, I was caught... stealing women's underwear."

Arlis's face turned bright red. When he saw that the scar-faced man was growing impatient, he finally whispered, "I got locked up for stealing underwear."

Scar-faced: "."

At that moment, not just the scar-faced man, but Arlis himself was utterly speechless and embarrassed.

His sole mission was to take out Lester and escape afterward, so he had opted for the lightest possible crime!

He had thought that once inside, he could be the boss of the cell, and no one would know his reason for being there.

But instead, he was quickly put in his place the moment he entered.

With no other choice, Arlis had to confess.

As soon as Arlis revealed his "crime", the cell fell into an awkward silence.

After a long pause, the scar-faced man, who led the group, broke the silence, asking, "What was the reason for your visit?"

Being an experienced inmate, the scar-faced man realized that this fierce-looking newcomer must have come to Azkaban on purpose.

After all, who would end up in Azkaban just for stealing underwear?

How much underwear could one possibly steal!

Therefore, the scar-faced man was convinced that Arlis had ulterior motives for being there.

When confronted with the question, Arlis was momentarily taken aback, unsure of how the scar-faced man had figured it out.

After a moment of thought, he casually replied, "I'm here to find that little brat named Lester!"

In Scar's eyes, what kind of clout could this kid Lester possibly have in Azkaban?

He figured that even without his own intervention, it would be quite a challenge for Lester to leave Azkaban alive.

However, since someone was willing to pay for Lester's life, Arlis was still up for the task.

"Lester? That little brat?"

Scar's interest piqued, but he kept a calm demeanor as he asked, "What? You want to stir up trouble for a kid? Tell me about it; maybe I've seen him."

Hearing that Scar might recognize Lester, Arlis felt a rush of excitement and gestured animatedly.

But in the midst of his excitement, he suddenly noticed the other prisoners were looking at him oddly.

"Why are you all staring at me like that?"

Sensing something was off, Arlis awkwardly asked.

He felt that the atmosphere in the cell had grown strangely tense.

Suddenly, Scar, who had been listening to Arlis, lunged at him.

Caught off guard, Arlis was slammed to the ground.

And it didn't stop there; the prisoners who had been watching immediately rushed in and started to beat him as soon as he fell.

"He actually dared to cause trouble for Lord Lester! Get him, brothers!"

...

Meanwhile, in Lester's cell,

Lester sprang up from his bed in surprise, startling the other inmates in the room.

Ignoring the terrified looks from the other prisoners, Lester focused on the system in his mind.

He noticed that the previously calm system panel was now buzzing with fear values.

[Ding! Fear value from Arlis +1000]

[Ding! Fear value from Arlis +1000]

[Ding! Fear value from Arlis +1000]

[Ding! Fear value from Arlis +1000]

"."

"Arlis?!" Lester murmured this legendary name slowly.

Previously when he intimidated others, he only gained 100 fear points.

Yet this Arlis fellow had contributed a whopping 1000 points in just one go!

What does this mean? It means Arlis was not someone to underestimate!

From Lester's observations over the past few days, the amount of fear seemed closely tied to the strength of the individual providing it.

Those who were somewhat strong could yield around 100 fear points, while average ones provided 50-100.

Fortunately, everyone in Azkaban was a dark wizard, which meant their strength was decent enough to provide substantial fear points to Lester.

But with Arlis, the fear points contributed by others suddenly felt trivial!

Just one individual was worth a hundred in Azkaban!

Do you see? In just a few minutes, he had given a staggering 10,000 fear points to me!

This indicated he was a prime target!

"I can't just let him go!" Without hesitation, Lester jumped off the bed and eagerly turned invisible as soon as he landed.

While he could pass through walls without being invisible, it might draw attention from Dementors, so he always used invisibility first.

Once invisible, Lester quickly placed his hand on the cell wall, mumbling the spell to pass through it.

Before long, he successfully slipped through the wall and entered another cell.

As soon as he arrived, he saw a group surrounding a poor prisoner, kicking him.

"Stop it!"

Seeing so many people ganging up on one, Lester couldn't hold back and canceled his invisibility, shouting for them to stop.

He had already confirmed that the unfortunate soul being attacked was Arlis, the 'big fat sheep' he was after!

The moment they heard Lester's voice, the attackers halted.

"Lord Lester, this punk wants to cause trouble for you!"

Scar, quick to react, saw Lester and brightened, wanting to report.

However, to everyone's surprise, Lester stepped right past him, approaching Arlis instead.

"Is there any way to save him?"

Looking down at the battered Arlis, barely clinging to life, Lester hesitated for a moment. It was tough to tell if he was still alive. After a brief pause, he slowly pulled out the stone knife he carried and stabbed the already bloodied body once more.

[Ding! Fear value from Arlis +1000]

Arlis: "."

Thinking the guards had arrived, he had decided to play dead.

Instead, he was unexpectedly stabbed again for no reason!

"Still alive!" Unaware of Arlis's confusion, Lester felt a surge of joy after the stab; the fact that he could still gain fear points meant this 'fat sheep' was indeed still alive!
