The page that the wind had flipped open was filled with Kokomi's inner monologue, recording her thoughts. From it, one could tell that Kokomi, at times, was simply a girl who longed for an ordinary life.

Yuxie could imagine how Kokomi must look when she's feeling down. At those times, she might come here, spending time alone in silence, holding a military book and reading it for the entire day.

Or perhaps she would quietly gaze at the scenery around her, much like anyone who admires the view of Watatsumi Island.

After a moment of contemplation, Yuxie stepped forward and closed the notebook.

Kokomi returned shortly after.

She started a fire and began boiling water.

The two chatted casually, and soon the water was boiling, followed by a pot of tea being brewed.

As the tea was poured, its rich fragrance filled the air.

They toasted with tea instead of alcohol, clinking their cups again and again.

Before they knew it, time passed slowly, and it was already afternoon.

"It's about time, I should head back," Kokomi said as she walked to the cave entrance, a faint smile on her face. The wind blew through her pink hair, making her look beautiful.

"Mm, be careful on your way back," Yuxie nodded.

"You too." Kokomi turned to leave, but after taking a few steps, she paused and looked back at Yuxie. "I had a really good time today, thanks to you. I think I know what I need to do next."

"Good luck, you're definitely a qualified Divine Priestess of Watatsumi Island," Yuxie replied with a smile.

"Mm," Kokomi nodded and turned away.

Watching Kokomi's figure gradually fade into the distance, Yuxie took a deep breath and then turned to leave as well.

When Yuxie returned to Narukami Island, it was already night, and the hour was late.

The night sky was clear, the moonlight bright, and the stars twinkling brilliantly.

Yuxie walked through the courtyard and along the hallway, arriving at his room. He pushed open the door and entered.

To his surprise, there were already people waiting for him inside.

Shenhe, Kitsune Saiguu, and Rosalyne were sitting at the table, waiting for his return.

Their gazes fell on him, and for a moment, Yuxie wasn't sure what to say.

"Welcome home. Have you had dinner?" Kitsune Saiguu was the first to speak.

"Not yet," Yuxie replied.

"Then I'll go prepare something for you to eat," Kitsune Saiguu said, getting up and leaving.

Only Shenhe and Rosalyne remained.

Yuxie slowly walked over and sat down. He wanted to say something, but Rosalyne spoke up first.

"I've spoken with Miss Shenhe and Miss Kitsune Saiguu. Now, the news of 'The Fair Lady's' death has spread. To avoid exposure, Miss Kitsune Saiguu suggested I stay here for the time being. I'm very grateful to her for allowing me to stay."

"Well, this is a decent outcome," Shenhe suddenly said. "But what surprised me was that the 'Rostam' Miss Rosalyne mentioned... is actually..."

Shenhe looked at Yuxie, her gaze quite complicated.

Yuxie suddenly felt a subtle atmosphere, a chill running down his back as if a cool breeze had brushed past him.

"I didn't expect things to turn out this way either, but since it's come to this, I can't avoid it, nor will I try to," Yuxie said with a slight smile. His smile seemed a bit helpless, yet also resigned.

At this point, Yuxie had already made up his mind.

If he couldn't escape, then he would accept it calmly, no matter what happened.

The debt he owed, he would repay it properly.

Afterward, they finished the dinner Kitsune Saiguu had prepared, and by then, it was already late into the night.

Everyone retired to their respective rooms to rest.

Lying in bed, half-awake and half-asleep, Yuxie seemed to hear a faint sound.

In his grogginess, he slowly opened his eyes and saw a small fox with pink fur lying on his chest.

The little fox was lying obediently on Yuxie's chest, eyes closed in rest, as if it had found an incredibly safe place to nestle.

Yuxie was still a bit dazed, but he didn't sense any hostility from the little pink fox. In fact, he could clearly feel a warmth emanating from it.

Could it be a dream? Yuxie wondered.

So, not thinking much of it, he closed his eyes again under the weight of drowsiness and fell into a deep sleep.

The next day, Yuxie was awoken by a voice from outside the door.

"Yuxie, wake up! Breakfast is ready, hurry up and get up to eat, or we won't save any for you!" Kitsune Saiguu called from outside.

Yuxie slowly opened his eyes, feeling a heaviness on his chest.

He looked down and was suddenly startled, instantly waking up.

The first thing he saw was long pink hair flowing like a waterfall, a stunningly beautiful face, and the faint fragrance that filled his nostrils.

Miss Yae Miko was quietly lying on Yuxie's chest, still asleep.

"Yae Miko?!" Yuxie suddenly remembered, realizing that the little pink fox he had seen last night was not a dream.

"Mm?" Yae Miko opened her sleepy eyes and looked up at Yuxie, offering a faint smile. Still drowsy, she softly said, "Good morning, Yuxie."

"How did you end up in my room?"

"I came to find you last night. When I saw you were asleep, I didn't want to wake you up again, so I turned into a fox and lay on your chest to watch you. I didn't expect to fall asleep while waiting," Yae Miko explained, sitting up from Yuxie's chest with a slight blush on her face.

She probably hadn't expected things to turn out this way.

The conversation in the room was possibly overheard by Kitsune Saiguu, as the door suddenly swung open.

Kitsune Saiguu quickly walked to the bed, giving Yuxie and Yae Miko a questioning look.

"Good morning, Lord Kitsune Saiguu..." Yae Miko smiled awkwardly at Kitsune Saiguu.

"Yae Miko, is this a little over the line?" Kitsune Saiguu stared at Yae Miko with a questioning gaze.

"I didn't mean to..." Yae Miko replied with an embarrassed smile. "And nothing happened last night. I just fell asleep on Yuxie's chest, that's all."

In response to Yae Miko's explanation, Kitsune Saiguu didn't speak but simply continued to stare at her.

Yae Miko fell silent, then got out of bed.

"Well... Lord Kitsune Saiguu, should I leave now?"

"Wait." Kitsune Saiguu smiled helplessly, though it was unclear whether she was amused or just irritated by Yae Miko. "Since you're already here, let's have breakfast before you leave."

For some reason, Yuxie had a feeling that "this breakfast was destined to be anything but peaceful."

"Hopefully, it's just my imagination," Yuxie thought to himself.
