Chapter 70: Dungeons.
Though, Whittaker wanted to buy one and use it to strengthen his mana pool to perfection. His potential was being halted because of his mana pool and he couldn't increase his max mana units by 50 because of the same reason!
"I will complete dungeons to make money. With money, everything can be easily obtained and many problems can be easily solved, hence my interest will always be with money. Also, my dream has evolved. I want... No, I will become the richest man in the entire awakened continent!" He exclaimed in glee, his happiness is caused by pleasant thoughts.
He stepped inside the Quest Hall.
Several meters behind the GRS, there were four square, door-like structures. 'These door-like structures are how a person can enter a dungeon.'
There was a small crowd in front of the dungeon door, and every student and party was entering the dungeon after swiping their Student ID card on the slot of the card reader installed on a metallic board placed near the dungeon. He walked towards the dungeon doors that were surrounded by many students.
Dungeons could be completed with a party or solo, but the danger level increases with each member. A few teams were wearing shiny gears in order before heading into the dungeon through the door. Whittaker saw the effect of their equipment suit. The magical and shiny equipment that they were wearing could block 10-20% of physical and magical attack damage.
Though the thing that caught his eye was none other than a scarlet crystal.
A notification containing the information regarding the crystal popped up,
[Return Crystal (Consumable)]
Effects: Once used, the Guardian will be instantly evacuated out of the dungeon. He will return to the nearest place with a GRS. The Guardian will return to the Quest Hall of Royal Frost Fall Academy after using this crystal as the nearest GRS to goblin dungeon is located in this place]
Everyone going inside the dungeons was buying this crystal from the nearby counter.
Dungeons were life-like. A person could experience true death if he dies in a dungeon that's why most of the students, especially nobles will never go inside a dungeon without a return crystal. No one wanted to experience death and the pain that comes with it. That's why they buy this crystal worth 50 platinum to complete a dungeon with a maximum profit of 50-1000 platinum bars.
Whittaker wondered why these students were wearing all of their items and preparing for war while they were just going to complete a dungeon. He doesn't have any equipment or return crystal, unlike the other students. He thought, 'Actually, I don't even have enough money to buy such stuff. A 1-star equipment suit costs 1000-10000 platinum bar, a 2-star cost 10000-100000 platinum bars, and the price just increases to insane height with each star.'
Loosening his muscles and suppressing his overconfidence, Whittaker stepped towards the metallic board.
A few people were standing around the dungeon door looking to either form parties or invite others to their party.
Those in a group can enter the dungeon together as long as they pour mana or battle energy into the dungeon door at the same time. Mana and battle energy can be poured into the dungeon door by touching the door.
There was a party prepared to go into the dungeon in front of him already, so he reigned in his curiosity about the other students around me and stood a few feet away from the on-going party.
It didn't take long before a group noticed the lone Whittaker waiting by himself.
"Heh, is that kid thinking of going in alone? To solo a dungeon that's just courting death!" A senior student said with an evil laugh.
"Bro, another one with a death wish has enlisted in the academy. After a single death, he will learn better." The second student didn't have any intention of warning Whittaker about the danger of the dungeon.
"Just ignore him, who knows, maybe he will let us see a devastated face. We should wait for his return. It will be nice to see him screaming his guts out." A female student whispered into their ears.
"Hahahahaehe," the three students laughed evilly.
Death was life-like, so was the mental trauma that comes with experiencing the pain that led a person to die. There were many ways for a person to die in the dungeon, each one was worse than the other. These students with distinguished backgrounds wanted to see the devastated and weeping look on Whittaker's face. They were probably jealous of his good looks.
Ignoring the laughs around him, Whittaker wait patiently as the entire party in front of him disappeared in a flash. Right after, he swiped his student ID card on the card reader and paid the required amount to enter the dungeon.
He went near the black-color monster dungeon and placed his hand on the square door. In an instant, Whittaker was transported into a large dark place.
He was using Devansha's vision, and could clearly see in this darkness. Without even a single glance, he determines what this place is, "A cavern and a boss?!"
The very first monster he encounters after entering a dungeon is a big, bulky, and ugly Goblin, whose hands clutches a massive bone pick.
"Gwagh!!!"
The cave lightly shakes from the scream so does the tummy of the goblin that was five-meter tall. Seeing that, a beaming smile form on Whittaker's face, almost immediately, the Frost spellbook immediately materializes over his head.
[Frost Bolt]...[Frost Bolt]...[Frost Bolt]...
Seven Frost Bolts are hurled towards the Giant goblin that is charging towards Whittaker. Right after, Whittaker shouts, "Frost elemental Control!" to gain control over the seven frost bolts.
Whittaker let the first hit its chest, slowing its movement. The second and third whisk past its shoulder and smashes on the back of its head causing it dizziness. Due to this, it is knocked backward. The fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh Frost Bolt smashes on the exposed and defenseless nether region of the fat goblin without mercy.
The Frost bolts explode the nether region, blood gushes everywhere dying the ground scarlet in seconds!
"GwahGHHhHHHH!!!!!!!"
The painful scream of the monster resounds as it opens its mouth wide.
Right then, Whittaker says Frost Bolt for one last time and the Frost spellbook hurls one Frost bolt at its open mouth to effectively end its life!
