Chapter 69: Frost Elemental Control.
Normally, a mage needs half a week or so to learn pure-mana spell. That's why they were so impressed.
Yato still hasn't learned one, and he was amazed by his idol, who learned both the spells that teacher Ruka has taught them.
Soon after, a page was successfully condensed in the Frost spellbook.
Whittaker, on the other hand, received another notification from the system.
[Frost Elementals Control (F-ranked)
Cost: 35 Mp per projectile
Effect: The Guardian can control a projectile's trajectory path once it is fired or thrown, whether it be a Frost bolt or Ice needle. The velocity of the object can be increased, so can its piercing power. Guardian can also reposition Ice Shield as he wishes. Max amount (0/7)]
The elemental spells were bound to be more impressive than pure-mana spells, especially if the mage spellbook belongs to a higher-rank, just like Whittaker's Frost spellbook. He was impressed by the elemental version of the pure-mana spell Telekinesis, even though it cost more mana.
Whittaker decided to practice the elemental spell. Everyone was staring at him with amazement, but Whittaker wasn't gonna shy away from their gazes. He was feeling proud and shy at the same time, but he only decided to show a proud face.
He gazed at his targets, the wooden figurines, and positioned himself to battle!
"[Frost Bolt]...[Frost Bolt]...[Frost Bolt]" He chanted the name of his first elemental spell.
The spellbook shot out several Frost bolts towards wooden figurines, and Whittaker shouted out "[Frost Elemental Control]", almost immediately, he felt connected to these frost bolts.
All of the Frost Bolts were targeted at the chest of the Wooden Figurines, Whittaker controlled them and changed their directions. Two Frost Bolts whisked past the wooden figurine that was modeled after a human body and smashed it on the back of the head while the other targeted its vital points: two smashed on the nether region, two on the ankles, and one on the neck. The poor wooden figurines have transformed into a snowman as it was entirely covered in a frosty hue.
Whittaker nods his head in thought as he stroke his imaginary bread. He was beaming a smile and looked a little silly because of his actions, even though he was trying to appear to be wise. Whittaker was summarizing the strength of this elemental spell.
Soon after, he gave him remarks, internally.
'This elemental-spell allows all types of Frost projectile to curve around barriers and obstacles to reach targets.' Whittaker's eyes blinked in insidious thought as he further concluded that, 'I can attack others at unsuspecting angles and blind-spots, confuse opponents by keeping moving the frost bolts around them until I decide to make the unexpected strike. The Frost Bolts can also gain momentum and piercing power by flying around.'
With each thought, the grin on his face widened. In the end, his smile was stretching from ear to ear. The happiness was certainly caused by Frost's elements control, a spell that has increased his battle power by a dozen times.
Whittaker believed that he could even take down an E-ranked magical beast by himself.
With such thoughts in his mind, he stepped out of the training facility under the admiring and love-filled eyes of some boys and girls and the envy and burning with jealousy stares of some students.
The place where he headed towards was the quest hall. Shadow had sent a private message to his mana com, telling him that he would solely train for some weeks so he can't go questing.
Anyways, Whittaker didn't want to quest himself. He wasn't going to the quest hall to complete a quest.
He was heading towards the quest hall to complete a dungeon.
"The dungeons in the Frost Fall Academy is definitely the greatest source of income. Every monster kill increases the royal credit points by a fraction of a point or more. Even though it's hard to complete a dungeon and the death rate is high but I have a lot of confidence in my powers. I believe I can do it!' Whittaker thought while gazing at the character menus.

On his way towards the quest hall, Whittaker thought back to what the system has said. He was advised to strengthen his mana pool. He was too engrossed in thoughts and training that he forgot to ask the system about important stuff.
Whittaker's lips parted as he asked, "Hey system, what does strengthening mana pool do?"
[The Guardian would be able to increase his max mana by more than fifty points a day if he strengthens his mana pool. Once the mana pool is strengthened to perfection then Guardian can level up as he wishes to. The guardian growth will not be "Restricted"!]
Whittaker asked the system how to attain a perfect mana pool, and the answers he received horrified his heart. There were only two ways.
The first one was to obtain an A-ranked or above treasure that strengthens the mana pool. Whittaker thought in refusal, 'It's easier said than done!'
Even a single F-ranked mana pool strengthening elixir costs more than 1000 platinum bars. How could he so easily buy an A-ranked or above treasure? He would have to probably slave away his life for ten or so years before he can make enough to purchase such a treasure that strengthens the mana pool to perfection.
