Game Of Thrones : Merchant of Two Worlds

Chapter 74: 74. Orders from the other side of the narrow sea

Back in the room, I told my sister Martha about what had happened, and she looked just as confused.

Martha is definitely the prettiest girl in all of Winter Town. While she may not be as beautiful as Miss Sansa in Winterfell, she's still quite lovely. So why isn't Master Jason interested in her?

It's not that Jason Liu doesn't care; he just feels guilty because Lena is only 16 and still a high school student. He thinks it's wrong for him to pursue her.

Meanwhile, in Winterfell, Jon Snow is also unable to sleep.

He is thinking about Lord Jason's invitation and is eager to join him as the head of the East family. However, he worries about what Lord Eddard and Lady Catelyn will think.

Jon has decided he needs to find a moment to talk to Lord Eddard alone. He is almost an adult now, and since Lord Eddard doesn't seem to care about him, he wants to choose his own future.

For more than 15 years of his life, he has been under Lord Eddard's control.

Now that it's time for him to make his choice, Jon refuses to stay quiet any longer.

He plans to tell Lord Eddard exactly how he feels—

He has no illusions about Winterfell or the Stark name, and if Lord Eddard still thinks of him as family, then he should let him leave.

Thinking about saying this to him makes Jon feel a little rebellious against Lord Eddard's authority.

He can't wait to rush to Ed Stark and share these thoughts.

But he wonders how Lord Eddard will react...

Will he become angry, scold Jon, and throw him out of the room?

Or will he reluctantly agree to let Jon go with a frown?

With these thoughts racing through his mind, Jon can't help but feel anxious.

He knows tonight will be a sleepless one.

The next day, Jason Liu handed all the medicines to Boris, explaining how to use disinfectant alcohol, along with various other medicines that had labels describing their uses in Westeros.

After that, he took his five apprentices to treat patients and gain practical experience.

"Don't forget, you promised to find me some medical books from your homeland!" As Jason Liu was about to leave, Boris, focused on recording the types of medicines, quickly called out to him from behind.

Jason Liu waved back, assuring him he hadn't forgotten and would bring them next time before returning to the shop downstairs from Martha's house.

Business was booming today, with small merchants crowded around the counters.

Lena and the others were busy collecting money and distributing goods, while the ten McCanns were back to being porters.

Several merchants, dressed very differently from those in Westeros, entered the shop, their fingers adorned with colorful gemstone rings.

Susan went to greet them, but they said they wanted to meet Lord Jason East to discuss a major business deal.

Seeing their fine clothes, Susan guessed they were wealthy and asked them to wait a moment before running upstairs to find Jason Liu, who was counting the inventory.

"Are they businessmen from across the Narrow Sea?" Jason Liu thought. He didn't get much information from Susan, so he decided to meet them in person.

He was curious if his products had reached those rich free city-states on the other side of the Narrow Sea.

If he could connect with merchants there, he could sell even more goods.

"I'm the owner of this shop, Jason East. May I ask where you're from?" Jason Liu approached the wealthy-looking merchants with a smile.

One of them, a fair-skinned man with two delicate little beards under his nose, stroked his chest with his right hand and proudly introduced himself, "I'm Boro Veneva, a businessman from Braavos, a free city across the Narrow Sea. It's an honor to meet you, Lord East!"

The fat man in the middle chuckled and said, "I'm Rahana from the free city-state of Pentos. Good day, Lord East!"

"I'm Zamor from the free city-state of Kohor. The goods you brought from the Far East are truly impressive!" The thick beard of the Kohor businessman nearly covered his face.

"It's amazing that my goods have made it to Narrow Shore!" Jason Liu pretended to be surprised and then smiled. "So, you've traveled so far; you must be interested in my products?"

"That's correct!" they all nodded eagerly.

"How much are you looking to order?" Jason Liu asked directly, not wanting to waste time with pleasantries.

After all, he mainly stayed in Westeros, and the continent of Essos across the Narrow Sea felt too far for him to handle deliveries personally. He could only buy through merchants on that side.

The three exchanged glances, and Boro Veneva from Braavos said, "We want a lot!"

"Really? Just how much?" Jason Liu asked, curious about the size of their order. He had just shipped all the goods from his modern warehouse the night before, so he wasn't worried about fulfilling a large request.

"The three of us need exactly the same amount!" Boro Veneva stated and then listed their needs:

10,000 gel pens100,000 refills200,000 sheets of small white A4 paper10,000 sheets of large white A1 paper100,000 bars of soap20,000 bars of soap

This was the quantity each of them required.

So, Jason Liu would need to prepare three times that amount.

They had already inquired about the types of goods, so he mentally calculated and realized he had enough in his warehouse.

(This is a real big order!) Jason Liu thought, showing a warm smile. "I have everything you need! As long as the payment is good…"

The three merchants waved their hands behind them, and soon a few heavy wooden boxes were brought in by their attendants.

When they opened the boxes, golden light shone as they revealed piles of golden dragon coins.

Jason Liu counted the coins himself and then had Lena, Susan, and the others double-check.

There were a total of 4,350 golden dragons, which was the full payment.

"The amount is just right, so I can prepare your goods now!"

Jason Liu instructed the McCanns to carry the money boxes to his room, and then they got busy delivering again.

Fortunately, most of the boxes delivered yesterday hadn't been opened, making the counting easier.

The three merchants directed their subordinates to speed up the counting of the goods, and after several hours of work, everything was finally tallied.
