Chapter 73: 73. Still making huge profits in medicine
10 barrels of 25 kg dry penicillin powder.
100,000 10ml disposable syringes.
100,000 bottles of sterile water for injection (5ml each).
1,000 rolls of steel tape, each 5 cm wide.
1,000 rolls of gauze, each 60 meters long and 8 cm wide with a density of 32.
10 barrels of 75% medical alcohol, each 50 liters.
20 sets of common scissors, scalpels, tweezers, and other small medical tools.
After hearing the quantities from Jason Liu, Simon quickly did some mental calculations and provided a quote. "Each barrel of penicillin powder costs 120 yuan for 25 kg. Because I'm buying a large number of 10ml disposable syringes, they cost 0.2 yuan each."
"A bottle of 5ml sterile water for injection costs 0.1 yuan. A roll of steel tape (5 cm wide) is 2 yuan. Each roll of 32-density gauze costs 1 yuan."
"50 liters of 75% medical alcohol is 210 yuan per barrel. As for the 20 sets of small tools, they are a free gift from Marco!"
Simo quickly shared his prices and then looked at Jason Liu eagerly, saying, "Brother Liu, this price is already the lowest I can offer, thanks to my dad! What do you think?"
According to Simon's quote, the total cost would be 36,300 yuan. This was almost ten times cheaper than retail prices, showing how much profit there is in the pharmaceutical industry.
Jason Liu nodded and agreed; he wasn't concerned about spending this money.
Seeing Jason Liu so agreeable made Simo very happy. He decided to remove the last 300 yuan and asked Jason Liu to pay 36,000 yuan instead.
Jason Liu gave him the warehouse address and made a deposit of 10,000 yuan. Simo confidently assured him that since the address was on the outskirts of the Zhengshi High-tech Zone, he would deliver the goods right away.
With the deal made, everyone was pleased.
Jason Liu declined Simon's invitation to dinner, took a taxi, and headed straight back to the warehouse.
"Dad, what's up with this little Liu you know? He doesn't seem like a regular drug dealer. I mean, he doesn't even haggle over prices; he just places orders. Look at me, your son—I'm struggling to make a profit!"
After Jason Liu left, Simon couldn't help but express his thoughts.
With a cigarette in his mouth, Doctor glared at his son and replied, "Why are you so concerned about others? Maybe jason Liu just respects my reputation and didn't want to lowball you!"
simon quickly backtracked, "Okay, okay! I'll buy more food when I get home today, and I'll make sure Grandpa gets some. Thanks, Dad, for introducing me to this big opportunity!"
"Make sure to order some pork heads; they're delicious!" Doctor Dr. Victor urged.
The pharmaceutical factory in Zheng City received a call from simon and immediately started loading all the ordered items for delivery to the warehouse address given by Jason Liu.
While waiting in the warehouse, Jason Liu didn't wait long before he saw a large truck labeled "Yongren Pharmaceutical Factory" approaching.
He put away his phone, opened the warehouse door, and let the truck back in to unload the goods.
After counting and confirming everything was correct, Jason Liu transferred the remaining 26,000 yuan to simon, and the truck left.
Once simon received the money, he called Jason Liu to thank him several times. He also said he would look for him for future orders before hanging up.
After all this, it was already noon. Jason Liu ordered takeout and temporarily stored the medicine and the remaining supplies—half the paper, pens, and soap—in the warehouse before heading back to Westeros alone.
Anthony , a big businessman from King's Landing, had been waiting in the store for Jason Liu. When he saw Jason Liu come out, he walked over excitedly. "Sir, can I buy the goods I want now? I've been waiting for a long time."
Knowing that Lina and the others were hesitant to sell directly to Anthony, they had waited for Jason Liu to return and handle the transaction himself.
Jason Liu wasn't surprised by this, as it was understandable given the large amounts involved.
With enough stock on hand, Jason Liu called the clerks to bring out the goods while he counted the money.
4,000 gel pens for 40 gold dragons.
40,000 refills for 200 gold dragons.
100,000 sheets of white A4 paper for 50 gold dragons.
10,000 bars of soap for 100 gold dragons.
In addition, Anthony learned from Lina that the store also sold laundry soap and A1 paper that could be cut into 8 sheets.
So, Anthony placed additional orders:
20,000 bars of laundry soap for 100 gold dragons.
5,000 sheets of A1 paper, each for 50 bronze stars, totaling 25 gold dragons.
Anthony spent a total of 515 gold dragons on this large purchase.
He filled all his carriages with the goods, but it wasn't enough. He even rented a few extra carriages in the winter market town to complete his order.
After chatting with Jason Liu about future bulk purchases, Anthony hurried off to White Harbor, ready to ship back to King's Landing.
During the conversation, Jason Liu also asked Anthony about buying natural gold nuggets. Anthony promised to help him find some if possible.
With another 515 gold dragons in hand, and after deducting expenses, Jason Liu had saved over 1,000 gold dragons from his sales.
With so much money, Jason Liu planned to save it to buy natural gold bullion.
He wondered if the Western merchants, Bert Bancroft and Odover, had managed to get any for themselves.
Later that evening, after dinner, Jason Liu decided to take advantage of the quiet time. He went to the newly built storefront, which was several times larger than the previous one. He divided the goods into several loads and transported everything stored in the modern warehouse to this new location.
The construction was now complete, with high walls and large warehouses being built.
The fences and warehouses were nearly finished, and the next phase included constructing housing, a kitchen, a small school field, and staff accommodations.
The men's and women's restrooms, which Jason Liu had specifically requested, were built first.
They had dug a septic tank and connected the toilets. While Westeros had plumbing, they would need to build a water tower for water supply.
However, the water tower needed manual labor to fill it, so the ten guards under Jason Liu would each carry a few buckets of water daily. This would also serve as exercise for them.
Locking the new store, Jason Liu instructed McCann and the other ten guards to arrange for a night watch, then yawned and went back to his room.
Lina and Bella had boiled hot water for him. Not wanting them to serve him while he bathed, Jason Liu washed himself in the tub and then went to bed.
This left Lina a bit disappointed; she wondered if she was too unattractive or if there was another reason why Jason Liu wasn't interested in her.
