Flame and Crimson: OC x Ruby (DBXV x RWBY)

Hey guys Novaflame6_Badal here again ! We are now at the start of Volume 2 of the Ruby cannon story. This chapter will start abit differently since we will be delving into the animosity between Elves and Humans in this story. And.. just in case you're wondering, no, Odyn and Ruby won't just all of a sudden be together like that. I'm taking a little more time to build their relationship. Right now, it's more of a close friendship/ growing one sided attraction at the moment.

Trying to do a better job of fleshing things out for the pairings... the earliest Odyn x Ruby might come to fruition is... most likely Volume 3... or just before. We'll see as it depends on the situation within the story. Here are the pairings I have so far:

If you haven't noticed, I've decided to give Blake a pairing too. This one will take place a little later in the story, so her and Sun will just remain as really good friends. Since this is more of a crossover with the dbz universe in mind, the dark elves origin is.. a little different than if it was strictly an xover with black Clover. There are just elements from Black Clover in this story, unfortunately no Black Clover characters appear in this story. I wasn't able to figure out a way for that to happen unfortunately... plus I'd rather not mess up the personality of said characters.

Lastly, Elves use a combination of magic from Black Clover and Ki attacks from the dbz universe, so the Dark Elves will be unique in that regard. As for if they have super forms like super saiyan and all that... you'll just have to see later down the line. I'll get creative in that regard since I have to fuse elements of Black Clover and Dbz/Dragon Ball Super into this story. Anywho, onto the story!

Ps.- Rosesaiyan2 (Novaflame6_Badal/Novablade67) doesn't own Dbz/ Dragon ball super, Black Clover, or Rwby and their characters. Those belong to Akira Toriyama/Toei Animation, Yuki Tabata/Studio Pierot and Rooster Teeth/ Monty Oum respectively. He only owns the OC's with permission to use the characters of Daikon and Tarro via ComparedDreadx.

Chapter 8- Food Fight & Burdened History

It has been two full weeks since the fiasco at the docking bay with the White Fang and Roman Torchwick, our group of teens is now seen relaxing in the cafeteria as per normal during lunchtime.

During that two weeks, teams Rwby, JNPR, and most of KDBNB learned of the secret surrounding certain flame eyed friends of theirs. They'd discovered in no uncertain terms that Khanna, Baron, Roy, and Odyn were of the Dark Elven Race... a race of beings that had long existed alongside both humans and faunus. They figured the reason they hadn't heard of them before now was due to Elves isolating themselves from humans due to years of backstabbing betrayal, slavery, homicide, war, and abuse by humans. Needless to say, the Elves had every right to hate human beings... yet not all of them did, which baffled the teens.

While there were certainly things that humans did that'd make their Elven friends angry, they didn't openly hate humans. At least... that was how it seemed on the surface anyways. Their truest feelings towards humans weren't really known, but it was something the group of teens would find out eventually.

As the group sat in the cafeteria, Ruby began to think about the time she had spent with the dark elves. Well... more specifically one dark elf in particular.

"Odyn...," Ruby thought to herself.

Flashbacks of all the time she had spent with the blue haired dark elf ran through her mind. He'd been nothing other than kind to her.. and even did his best to make sure she was never upset with him. She also thought of the time she was down in the dumps after the first day at Beacon when Odyn's words of wisdom helped her recover and make up with Weiss. Then even recently, when Blake ran off due to her previous admittance of her former ties with The White Fang. Odyn knew just what to say to calm her down and check up on her. He even volunteered himself and his teammates to help.

She had a lot of happy memories with Odyn as friends so far, now she wondered if there were any more down the road in the future. Ruby caught herself smiling as she thought about Odyn, he'd been there when she most needed some encouragement or just help in general. She was glad to have a friend like Odyn, but... what was this strange feeling she had when she thought of him recently? It wasn't unwelcome, but she'd never felt this way before. Shaking her head, she put it at the back of her mind for now to focus on her task.

Elsewhere...

Along the streets of Downtown Vale, the shop owner of From Dust Till Dawn is seen is seen hanging a sign up near the front of his store signaling it's reopening. This was after the repairs to the shop in the aftermath of the incident at the docking bay just a mere 2 weeks ago. Smiling, the shop owner was satisfied with his work and began to descend the ladder he was using. However, he wasn't watching where he stepped and began to fall only to be caught by someone.

The man looked behind him and saw that two girls with dark skin had caught him.

"Careful, there! You could get hurt doing that.," They said at the same time.

The first was a girl with mint colored hair and Red eyes, while the second was a woman with dark purple hair and what looked to be familiar orange colored eyes. The girl was Emerald Sustrai, a newcomer to Vale. Emerald looked to the woman with a curious expression on her face.

"Oh, I apologize for that. It appeared this man would fall, I thought I would offer to help to prevent any harm befallen him.," The newcomer said.

Emerald caught herself staring at the woman and shook her head before she spoke again.

"No, no it's fine. I wasn't sure anyone else was around. You don't need to apologize.," Emerald said.

The woman smiled at her.

"Well I thank you for the kind words. If you have everything handled here, I believe I must be going as I have pressing business to attend to.," The woman said turning to walk away.

"Wait!," Emerald called back.

The woman turned again to face her.

"I've never seen anyone with your eyes before.. are you new to Vale?," The male behind her spoke up and asked.

"I suppose you could say that I am from some place quite far from here. I have come to vale in order to see someone dear to myself and my husband., " She said.

"What's your name?," The male asked.

"Mercury.. that's a rude way to ask for someone's name.," Emerald berated the now named Mercury Black.

The woman chuckled as she turned with a kind smile towards the two teenagers.

"No, no, it's quite alright. It was was rude of me not to introduce myself. My Name is Hyatan Albanar. You two be careful now, I have to go.," Hyatan said as she turned and walked away.

As she turned though, Emerald thought she caught a glimpse of Hyatan's pointed ears. She shook her head and waved off the thought. There was no way this woman they just met could be a member of the mythical 3rd race of Remnant...right? She raised an eyebrow as the lavender haired woman was seen walking up to a man with cerulean blue hair and the same orange- flame like eyes. The bearded man never said anything, he simply nodded to the teens before he and the woman walked off.

Mercury looked back towards them. It was odd... but he felt like... there was something familiar about them. Emerald looked to Mercury as she had her eyebrows raised in question.

"Mercury... you okay?," Emerald asked.

He looked back towards her.

"Huh? Yeah, I'm alright.," He answered.

"What gives? You just spaced out there.," Emerald asked.

"Sorry. There was just something... weirdly familiar about that lady to me.," He answered.

"You know her then?," Emerald asked curious.

"No, 'course not. I've never even seen that lady before in my life. But... why does it feel like I should know about her and that other guy who was with her? (Rubs his hair in frustration) argh, I don't know! This makes no sense to me.," Mercury said frustrated.

"(In mind) Hm... I may just be guessing here, but.. could Mercury be remembering something from his past possibly?," Emerald thought to herself.

"Well whatever, we need to get going. We have a job to do," Emerald said snapping Mercury out of it.

They then walk off to head to their destination.

Continuing on down the sidewalk, as more of the city is shown. It becomes apparent that the two teens have no idea where they are going.

"I knew you were lost.," Mercury said speaking up finally.

"Mercury, I'll seriously pay you to shut up for once.," Emerald said rolling her eyes and whipping out a wallet with Lien inside of it.

"That isn't your money.," Mercury said.

"No, but it can be yours for 5 minutes of silence.," The girl said back.

"Mmm... yeah, no deal.," Mercury replied.

"Tch, fine.," Emerald said as she continued walking.

"Heh, you want me. You just don't realize it yet.," Mercury said smirking.

Emerald then quickly turned to him with a slightly disgusted and pretty annoyed look.

"As if! Good luck to whatever girl ends up falling for you!," Emerald said mildly insulting her partner in crime.

"😏 Wanna bet then?," Mercury asked smiling mischievously.

"Yeah, I'll bet. I bet no one will want to be romantically involved with you. Then you'll be all old and gray, only then I might give you a shot. I bet you don't find anyone before then.," Emerald said smugly.

Mercury smirked. He liked a challenge. He never intended to take this bet, but seeing the look on emerald's face when she was wrong was something he'd been waiting to see. He took the wager, if only just to spite her. The two teens then headed off towards their destination.

A/N: for plot's sake, I'll be skipping the confrontation with Tukson for Emerald and Mercury.

Timeskip... A few hours later- Cafeteria

Blake is seen looking at a series of sketches and notes in her notebook. Yang slides over to the Cat Faunus curious.

"What'cha doin'‽," Yang asked.

Blake looks over and slightly panics before covering her notebook.

"Nothing! Nothing at all! Just looking over some notes from the last semester.," Blake replied.

"Uh huh... well whatever., " Yang said as she turned back towards the others.

Yang then catches a grape in her mouth.

"Lame. 😑," Yang said back to Nora unimpressed.

Nora giggles as she continues to toss grapes at Yang with her spoon. Yang catches the fruit with ease, giving Nora the thumbs up. Roy then speaks up as he's seen sitting next to Yang.

"So... tell me something, Yang.," Roy started.

"Yeah? What's up, handsome~?," Yang said teasing him.

Roy cleared his throat before continuing.

"Why exactly are all of us here again?," Roy asked.

"I think Rubes, thought it'd be fun to do something to kick off things before the new semester.," Yang answered.

Speaking of the said girl, Ruby gave a big heave before slamming down a binder onto the table they all ate at. On the cover of the binder is written "Vytal Festival Activities, Property of Weiss Schnee". This has been hastily crossed out with a red marker pen, and with the same pen, a new title, "Best Day Ever Activities", has been written underneath.

"🤦‍♂️ I don't even want to ask what you have planned Ruby, cause I know it'll be... unorthodox.," Odyn said palming his forehead.

Ruby pouted at this as she turned to Odyn.

"What's that supposed to mean?!," Ruby said pouting with her cheeks puffed.

Odyn put up his hands defensively to calm her down.

"Nothing, Ruby. I merely said that in jest. I meant nothing by it, I can assure you.," Odyn said.

Moving on from that, Ruby gestures to everyone at the table as she speaks.

"Sisters.. friends... Weiss.," Ruby began.

"Hey!," Weiss said offscreen.

"Four Score and seven minutes ago, I had a dream!," Ruby began.

"This oughtta be good.," Yang said tossing another fruit into her mouth.

"A dream that one day, the four of us will come together, as a team, and have the most fun anyone has ever had... ever!," Ruby said.

The Elves looked confused this or.. more  like concerned about what it could potentially mean.

" Did you steal my binder?," Weiss asked.

"I am not a crook.," Ruby said with her fingers crossed.

"Yeah..you sounded real convincing there, Ruby.," Odyn said deadpanning.

Ruby puffed up her cheeks as if she was pouting.

"Odyn.. I thought you were on my side!," Ruby pouted.

"I am.... Most of the time. Just... not this time. I can't even back you up on this one... sorry, Rubes.," Odyn said.

Thankfully Blake redirected the conversation so Ruby wouldn't stay upset at Odyn, much to his relief.

"What are you talking about?," Blake asked.

"I'm talking about kicking off the semester with a bang!," Ruby said pointing her finger at the cat faunus.

" Well, I always start my semester off with a Yang! Eh? Right guys?," Yang said trying to make a pun.

The Elves said nothing and just gave her a blank stare that said "really?"

An apple is tossed at Yang and hits her in the face. She glares at Nora.

"Boooooooooooooooo!" Nora said offscreen.

"Look guys, it's been a good two weeks and between more exchange students arriving and the tournament at the end of the year, our second semester is going to be great! But, classes start back up tomorrow! Which is why I've taken the time to schedule a series of wonderful events for us today."Ruby said.

"I don't know whether to be proud or scared of what you have in store for us.," Weiss said.

Roy saw what Yang was doing and attempted to dissuade her from doing so, but eventually gave up. He let Yang just toss an apple at Nora, who dodged it. An unfamiliar voice sounds off saying "Hey!" as they're hit from behind by the flying fruit. Nora is seen giggling after.

 "I don't know. I think I might sit this one out." Blake said.

"Sit out or not, I think that however we spend this last day, we should do it as a team!", Weiss said.

Nora then shouts positively offscreen.

"I got it!,"The girl says.

Weissgot up and began to say something else before getting hit in the face by a pie.

"I for one think that-," Weiss started before being hit by a pie in the face.

Nora is shown to be the one who threw the pie, she sits down and points at Ren who has his head in his palm. Pyrrha's hand is over her mouth and Jaune simply sits staring wide-eyed while covering his ear with his palm.

"🤦‍♂️ somehow... I knew that would happen.," Odyn said.

"It is team Rwby we're talking about here..," Khanna said.

" No surprise here. I knew something would happen sooner or later.," Roy said.

The other Elves just nodded wordlessly agreeing as they watched what was sure to be chaos commence.

Nearby....

Sun and Neptune were seen walking outside of the cafeteria as they were talking. The blonde haired monkey faunus was telling Neptune about what occurred at the loading docks just a couple weeks prior.

"Man, that's harsh.," Neptune said.

" I know, we were fighting side by side. She was super fast and I threw a banana at the guy, which sounds gross, but it was awesome.", Sun said before continuing.

Neptune gave his friend a thumbs up before letting him speak again.

"Nice!," Neptune said giving a thumbs up.

"Right? And the best part about it is, she's a faunus. Oh! But that's a secret, got it?," Sun said leaning in and whispering to stress the importance of keeping it a secret.

"And not a "I'm gonna go tell Scarlet the second turns his back secret." I'm talking like.. totally secret. Secret, secret. If you know what I mean?," Sun said.

"Ok, chill out man. (Whispers) I got it.," Neptune said.

Sun sighed in relief, he figured he could trust Neptune with that.

"So... was there anything else?," Neptune asked.

"Ah yeah. There were these other really amazing people with pointed ears that fought with us. They had some strange abilities, but they're nice people... and also really strong! Think they said they were... Elves? 🤔 Oh! But that's a secret too!," Sun said.

"Gotcha. But uh... if they're so amazing, why do they want what they are to be kept a secret?," Neptune asked.

"Good question. I think.. Roy said it had something to do with how people have treated their kind before. They're... not exactly fond of human beings.," Sun said thinking aloud.

Neptune had a look on his face as if he understood that point of view for a moment.

"Oh.. So in other words, humans have really hurt his people huh?," Neptune asked.

"Yeah... at least that's the vibe I was picking up on from them.," Sun replied.

He shook his head before switching to a less dreary topic.

"Anyway, I just don't wanna mess this up you know? These people are the coolest!  Uh... no offense to you guys, of course!," Sun said.

Neptune smiled at this.

"None taken.," Neptune replied.

"They're just in here. I'm really excited for you to meet them. So be cool, okay? You're gonna be cool, right?", Sun asked.

The camera then pans to Neptune, who stands still and grins with his teeth gleaming.

"Dude.," Neptune said as he grins with his teeth momentarily having a sparkle to them.

"You.. have a point there.," Sun replied.

Sun and Neptune then walk into the cafeteria, where students run out screaming.

"Food fight!," a Beacon student said as others scurried out of the cafeteria.

A horde of Beacon students are shown to be stampeding out of the building past Sun and Neptune, the latter of the two looking quite worried.

A voice is then heard from across the room.

"Aha ha ha ha ha ha!," Nora laughed as Team JNPR is situated one one side of the room by a mountain of tables and chairs put together randomly.

When one looked closer, team JNPR was seen to be standing on the tower of tables and chairs. Next to them, was 4 of the 5 members of KDBNB. Baron decided to sit this one out so he wouldn't get caught up in this mess.

Odyn and his team tried staying out of it too, but they were roped into it against their will by Yang.

"Why am I here?," Odyn said looking up to the ceiling.

"Oh, quit your whinning Odyn. Khanna took part in this just like you did. So be greatful you at least have someone to challenge you.," Yang said.

"Yang, that's not the point here. I- ugh... nevermind!," Odyn tried explaining before realizing that it was no use.

"(Singing) I'm queen of the Castle, I'm queen of the Castle~!," Nora bellowed from the top of the tower.

Ruby pointed towards Nora and crushed a milk carton in her hand while making her declaration.

"Justice will be Swift, it will be Painful! Justice will be delicious!," Ruby said.

While this was happening, Odyn couldn't help but to think to himself how he got into this situation. Just before the the two sides went after each other in the food fight, Odyn contacted his teammates and his cousin.

"What's up, Odyn?," Khanna asked through the telepathic link.

"Just wanted to establish something first.," Odyn replied.

"Oo... Kay? What did you have in mind?," Khanna asked

"Well.. Since this isn't a real fight, we should probably avoid using magic.," Odyn reasoned.

"He does have a point there, lady Khanna.," Hailfire chimed in.

"No magic, huh? And here I was thinking of just using the minimal amount...," Roy said.

"Listen Roy, I understand how natural it feels to use Magic.. but that wouldn't be fair to the others who can't use it. Same goes for Ki too.," Odyn said.

"Fine.. you do have a point there I guess. It would be kind of unfair to the others I we used a power that they have absolutely no idea of what it is. It would give us an unfair advantage.," Roy admitted.

"That wasn't so hard, was it my lord?," Hailfire said giggling.

"Are you making fun of me, Hailfire?," Roy asked pouting a little.

"No my Lord, why would i do that?," Hailfire responded.

Odyn cleared his throat, regaining their focus.

"As interesting as this conversation is.. we can save it for later, alright?," Odyn suggested.

The Elves all agreed before cutting the mental link.

"Off with their heads!," Nora said as the side with JNPR and Khanna's team leaped into action.

Nora jumps down from the top of her tower, and the food fight begins.

Ruby also signals her team and they leaped into action.

"Yang! Turkey! Odyn! Uh... bread! ," Ruby said trying think quickly.

"Got it!," Both said.

While Yang rolls over to the turkeys and sticks her fists inside them, Odyn rushed over and grabbed a stick of bread before dashing forward.

Back with Yang, the blonde stuck her fists inside a few spare turkeys while blocking and punching watermelons that her speeding towards her, courtesy of Note. Nearby, Nora and Weiss fought briefly. After some fighting though, Nora is able to knock Weiss into a pillar.

The impact knocks Weiss out as Ruby speeds towards her and catches her. The pillar then collapses around them while Ruby holds Weiss in her arms.

"Weiss, Weiss! Don't leave me! Nooo!," Ruby says while fake crying.

The fighting resumes as Hailfire and Pyrrha lock horns.. or... sticks of bread in this case. The two eyed each other before exchanging a series of swipes and jabs with the bread sticks.

"Huh.. you're not half bad, Nikos.," Hailfire said smirking.

Pyrrha smirked right back at the elf, having briefly witnessed her fighting prowess.

"Thanks. And you're not bad yourself, Hailfire.," Pyrrha said.

" Please, call me Hail. It's what all of my friends call me.," Hailfire said.

"I see. Very well then, Hail. Shall we continue?," Pyrrha replied.

The two girls continued their fight, not a moment later. Close by, Roy and Ren were having a battle with celery sticks in the midst of dodging the condiment battle between Flare and Nora.

Yang charged towards Jaune, only to be intercepted by the other team's turkey weilding fighter. She was met by Daikon, who also sported a pair of Turkey gauntlets. Khanna, meanwhile fought Blake briefly with her chain of turkey sausages. Jaune was unfortunately knocked away by the sausage chain as a result of Khanna dodging it. What she didn't see was that the chain wrapped around her breadstick that was used as a sword or spear.

"Got you, Andross.," Blake said.

Khanna raised an eyebrow and then smirked.

"Oh? Do you now? How about this then?," Khanna said.

Khanna then yanked the chain towards her, which caught Blake off guard just long enough for Khanna to force her back with a palm to the gut.  This sent the cat Faunus flying through the air and barreling into Roy, who had won his celery stick fight with Ren mere moments ago.

Odyn briefly fought Jaune before both saw Blake and Roy barreling towards them, they leapt away to avoid being hit. The same could not be said for Flare and Nora, who were catapulted to opposite sides of the room due to Roy and Blake barreling into them. It was also because they forgot about the condiments they were squirting at each other causing them to slip on their way to stop themselves.

Hailfire and Pyrrha finished their breadstick fight, resulting in Pyrrha being knocked back.

Yang would've finished her brawl with Daikon, if not for Nora knocking Yang through the roof with her makeshift watermelon hammer.

Daikon just gave Nora a look.

"What?," Nora asked not seeing what the problem was.

Daikon sighed. This girl was too dense.

"Nevermind.," He said before waking away.

Pyrrha skidded to a halt as Jaune was thrown back into a soda machine. The redhead then had an idea. She used her semblance of Polarity to gather up all of the pop cans and food trays to send them towards the other team in a twister of color.

Odyn went straight towards Khanna as the two cousins engaged in a breadstick fight.

"Somehow I knew it would be like this.," Khanna said chuckling.

"Would you expect anything less?," Odyn asked smirking.

"No, I wouldn't.," Khanna said back.

Odyn saw the twister coming towards him and looked back to the only one who could reverse it.

"That.. doesn't look good..," He thought.

"Ruby! Now!," Odyn called.

Ruby nodded and used a food tray like a skateboard as she used her semblance to gain speed, reversing the food twister.  Just as she neared the wall, she jumped out of the way as the twister slammed into the other team, pinning them to the wall in a hilarious display of color. They slid down the wall with only their outlines left. Odyn and Khanna finished their breadstick fight when Khanna's stick of bread was knocked out of her hands. She raised her hands, knowing she was beaten.

"Looks like it's your win.. this time, cousin.," Khanna said with her hands up.

"Yeah, we'll have to settle it in a more serious manner next time.," Odyn said as the two Elves shook hands.

Ruby then slid in with a victory sign.

"Victory for team Rwby! Oh! and you too of course, Odyn.," Ruby said holding a victory sign with  her fingers.

The camera then pans to show Sun and a very displeased Neptune who had been drenched with soda.

The doors behind them open and Glynda enters the room growling. She proceeds to use telekinesis to re-organize the room.

"Children, please... (adjusts her glasses) Don't play with your food!," Glynda said angered.

Nora is heard burping aloud as the group of teens all try and fail to compose themselves.

"Wait a minute guys, where's Yang?," Roy asked.

"Um... bro.," Odyn said trying to warn him as he saw Yang rapidly falling to the spot where Roy was.

"What?," Roy asked.

"She's right-," Khanna started but it was too late.

Roy tried catching her, but due to how fast a screaming Yang fell both of them ended up on the floor. However, due Roy's quick thinking, Yang avoided injury.

"Ow...," Roy said.

Yang looked down and saw Roy was holding her bridal style while lying on the floor.

"Hm? Oh, hey there handsome~," Yang said.

"Owch... my back.," Roy said.

The teens laughed again as Yang hopped to her feet before offering a hand to pull Roy up to his.

Roy blushed embarrassed by this and slightly pouting.

"Ha ha, yeah laugh it up you jerks.," Roy said.

"Hey, come on. We said we're sorry. I'll even make up to you, good lookin'~," Yang said.

Roy couldn't help but to blush at this. Yang was very... forward for sure. He never knew how to act around her.

Glynda grumbles before Ozpin puts a hand on her shoulder to calm her.

"Let it go, Glynda.," Ozpin said.

Glynda sighed exasperated.

"They're supposed to be the protectors of this world.," Glynda said exasperated.

"And they will be, but right now they're still children.", Ozpin said before continuing.

Teams Rwby, JNPR, KDBNB,  and OHRF are shown to be laughing together.

"After all.. it isn't a role they'll have forever.," Ozpin said as he began walking away.

Sybyr then put a hand on Glynda's shoulder, also consoling her.

"Come now Glynda, let them be as children for now. Besides... you have to admit, it was mildly amusing seeing them fight with their food.," Sybyrh said chuckling.

"Oh, not you too..," Glynda said grumbling.

She then stopped before looking back and giving off a small smile towards the group of teens.

"Though.. I suppose it was somewhat amusing watching their food fight. (Shakes her head) No! I will not give those two the satisfaction. Well... I suppose it can't be helped.," Glynda said as she walked off.

Elsewhere....

In an old warehouse, the White Fang are moving crates as Emerald and Mercury enter.

"Oh, look! She sent the kids again! This is turning out just like the divorce!", Roman said as he approached the two teens from behind before wrapping them in a group hug with his arms around their shoulders.

Emerald shivered in disgust at the thought of Roman doing such a thing.

"Ew.. Spare us the thought of you procreating.," Emerald said disgusted.

Emerald and Mercury both pull away from Roman.

He simply laughs it off as he speaks up again.

"Relax, I'm joking you two. I think, this will tell me where you two have been all day.," Roman said producing a piece of paper in his hand.

Emerald checked her pockets and was surprised that Roman suddenly had the slip of paper that was in her pocket from earlier.

"What?! Augh!," Emerald said surprised.

"Ah ah ah! I'm a professional,  sweetheart. If you'd pay attention, maybe you'll learn something. (Looks at the slip of paper) By the way... How do you have this address?," Roman said.

"Wouldn't you like to know?", Emerald spat back.

"Yes, I would like to know. Now.. Where have you two been all day?," The crook asked.

"Cleaning up your problems. One of them, at least.", Mercury said.

" I had that little issue under control.," Roman said.

"You did, huh? Two packed bags and ticket to Vacuo say otherwise.," Mercury replied.

"Listen, you little punk. If it were up to me, then I would take you and your little street rat friend here and...", Roman started to say before being interrupted by a new voice.

This new voice was revealed to be Cinder.

"And do what, Roman?," Cinnder asked.

Cinder appears on a platform above them. She steps onto an automated lift, riding it down to their level.

"I'd uh... not kill them?," Roamn said laughing nervously.

"Cinder!",Emerald said excitedly.

 "I thought I made it clear that you would eliminate the would-be runaway.," Cinder said pointing towards Roman.

"I was going to...," He said.

" He was going to escape to Vacuo! Mercury and I decided to take it upon ourselves to kill the rat.", Emerald said.

"I think he was some sort of cat actually...," Mercury interjected.

"What? Like a puma?", Emerald asked.

"Yeah, I think so.," Mercury nodded.

"Quiet. Did I not specifically instruct you two to keep your hands clean while in Vale?", Cinder admonished them.

While she spoke, Roman pointed a finger at the teens while laughing in agreement.

"I just thought...," Emerald began before realizing she had nothing to say.

"Don't think... just obey. Everything will go according to plan if you do. Remember that, Emerald, Mercury..," Cinder said.

"Y-yes ma'am.. it won't happen again.," Emerald said.

"I'll.. remember that.," Mercury said.

Cinder then turns to Roman.

"And you. Why wasn't this job done sooner?", Cinder asked.

As he speaks, he points to his right, then to his left, then behind him

"Uh..? Eh..? Eh..? EHHHHH! Sorry if I've been busy stealing every speck of Dust in the Kingdom!," Roman said.

"You're an inspiration to every punk with a gun and a ski mask.," Mercury said smirking.

Emerald laughs at this.

"Look around, kid. I've got this town running scared! Police camping out at every corner, Dust prices through the roof, and we're sitting pretty on an old warehouse with more Dust crystals, vials, and rounds than we know what to do with! Speaking of which, if you guys wouldn't mind filling me in on your grand master plan, it might actually make my next string of robberies go a little smoother!," Roman said emphasizing his point by clenching his fist towards the teen's face.

Cinder then approaches Roman, putting her hand on his face.

"Oh, Roman. Have a little faith. You'll know what you need when you need to know it. Besides... I believe we're done with the dust.," Cinder said as she begins to walk away.

Roman was entranced for a moment, but then shakes his head and grunts.

"O-Okay then what do we do now?," Roman asked.

"We're moving. Have the White Fang clear out this building. I'll send you details and coordinates tonight.", Cinder said.

Roman raised an eyebrow in question.

"Coordinates?," He asked.

Cinder looked back at Roman before speaking again.

"We're proceeding to phase two of the plan. Be ready.," Cinder said.

Cinder, Mercury and Emerald begin to walk away. Roman attempts to light a cigar, but realizes Emerald has stolen his lighter. She turns back to face him and sticks her tongue out defiantly.

"Was there anything else?," Cinder asked.

"Actually... on the way to take care of our Puma runaway, we saw someone we'd never seen before.," Emerald said.

Cinder raised an eyebrow at this.

"Oh? Do tell. What was she like?," Cinder asked.

"She had Lavender hair, and.. dark skin.  Also she seemed to be foreign.. almost like... she wasn't from Remnant at all.,"Emerald explain.

"Lavender hair...,"Cinder said pondering the thought.

"Was there.. anything else about this woman?," Cinder asked.

"Yeah. She had pointed ears it looked like. But we couldn't exactly tell cause it was only for a moment that we saw them. But that wasn't the most jarring thing we saw about her.," Mercury explained.

"It wasn't? What was it about this woman that has you so on edge?," Cinder asked curious.

Emerald gulped before answering the question,  due to not being sure how Cinder would react.

"It.. was her eyes. They were... flame colored, almost as if.. you were looking into fire itself.," Emerald said.

That definitely caught Cinder's attention. She wasn't positive before but she was now. This definitely put a wrench into things going forward.

"I can't afford to be careless, not if that race is showing themselves.," Cinder thought.

"Should we do something about them?," Mercury asked.

"No. When it is time to deal with these other beings, we will do so tactfully.," Cinder told them.

"So what do we do then, if.. we run into them?," Emerald asked.

"For now, just keep a close eye on them. It wouldn't do to antagonize them when we have no idea what they're capable of or what they want.," Cinder said.

Emerald nodded. Nothing was said after that. Cinder now had to account for this other race being in Vale, she wasn't expecting that. If the rumors she heard concerning the dark elves were true, she couldn't afford to be careless. From the rumors she'd heard and read about, dark elves were every bit the warriors they claimed to be.

"If a race that's powerful enough to give most grim pause, and catch "her" attention is here in Vale, I'll need a backup plan. These dark elves do intrigue me though.. I'll need to do some more research.," Cinder thought to herself as she walked out with her cohorts.

The screen then fades to black.

Hey guys, hopefully you enjoyed this chapter. As you can tell, Cinder has now discovered the dark elves being in Vale. I'll try and touch on why Cinder knows about them as the story progresses. She has a pretty major role in the backstories of three of the Dark Elven lords who are attending Beacon (Odyn, Roy, Khanna).

As for Mercury,  Next few chapters will explain why he's so familiar with the Elves. It will also start his change from villain to a hero in this story. I'm not sure what to do with Emerald though... Maybe you guys can decide?

Should Emerald stay Evil?

A: Yes, keep her as a villain.

B: No, go in a different direction with her.

I know I also mentioned Blake having a pairing for this story and I fully intend to deliver on that promise. Which male character should I put her with down the line?
