Flame and Crimson: OC x Ruby (DBXV x RWBY)

Chapter 9: Chapter 9- Welcome to Beacon!; Reunion?!

Hey guys, Rosesaiyan2 here again! Hopefully, you guys enjoyed the last chapter that was posted. I'm going to introduce a new section called Q & A either at the beginning or at the end of each chapter.

As I've said before, the dark elves really don't like humans in this story due to how inhumanly they've been treated. That said, they're not against working with them on occasion. If you all are wondering, yes. Cinder and Salem have pretty large roles in why the dark elves are so horrifically treated by humans. So you can imagine when the Elves discover those two, they'll be out for blood.

Anyways, that's mainly all for now. Onto the story!

Disclaimer: Rosesaiyan2 (wattpad)/ Novaflame6_Badal (webnovel)/Novablade67 (Fanfiction.net) doesn't own Dbz/DBS, Black Clover, or Rwby and their characters. Those belong to Akira Toriyama/Toei Animation, Yuki Tabata/Studio Pierot and Rooster Teeth/Monty Oum respectively. He only owns the OC's aside from Tarro and Daikon, which he has permission to use via ComparedDreadx.

Opening: Rising Hope (Irregular at Magic Highschool)

Visuals: Swap the characters in the opening for the characters in this story.. same with the world.

Chapter 9: Welcome to Beacon; Reunion?

_________________________________________

Near Beacon Academy, there walks a fairly young looking couple. The woman has dark lavender colored hair, flame colored eyes, and darkened skin. She wore silver and purple armor and royal looking robes over it. This was Hyatan Albanar, the High Queen of the Dark Elves. Next to her, was her husband. He had drak skin, the same flame colored eyes, and cerulean blue hair to go with his beard. The man wore blue armor with golden trimmings and royal blue robes that went over top of it.

This was Berethon Albanar, husband to Hyatan, and the High King of the Dark Elves. They were escorted by a pair of young dark Elven soldiers. One was donned in crimson red armor with scale plating, and the other wore what looked to be the armor of a vanguard. These two just happened to be related to a certain new weapons combat instructor at Beacon.

The two Elves were seen escorting Berethon and Hyatan through Vale towards the school. They were taking time to observe the scenery around Vale as they made their way to Beacon. Their aides kept a close eye on the surrounding area, in case they spotted anything.

"Do you think our young lords are doing alright at Beacon?," Hyatan asked.

"I believe they are perfectly fine, hun. At least, that was the perception of Sybyrh in her last report to us.," Berethon replied.

Hyatan seemed to understand this and nodded in response.

"My lady, I know you would like to see the young princes soon... we can assure you that they will come to you upon your arrival.," The elf in crimson armor said.

This was Valvedern Arkham, the Supreme Commander/General of the Dark Elven Army. Though he was young, he showed a great enough fortitude and skill on the battlefield to earn the rank of Supreme General at the young age of 19.

Next to him, was his brother, Zero Arkham. He was the Co-Captain of the Elven Vanguard. Zero took charge of the Vanguard troops when his sister couldn't and helped lead them in tandem with her when she was around. He was a year younger than Valvedern at 18 years old.

Hyatan looked towards the school and raised an eyebrow at the many airships that seemed to be surrounding the city. Had something happened? Even if it did, there was no need for such an excessive military presence in Vale.

"Dear... what do you suppose all of these military aircrafts are doing here?," Hyatan asked.

Berethon looked skyward and sighed. He knew who it was and he wasn't exactly looking forward to meeting 'that' individual.

"Well hun, there's only one person who would brazenly flaunt military might of this size... It has to be that overly cautious zealot of an Atlus General.," Berethon said sighing exasperated.

Hyatan palmed her forehead and rubbed the bridge of her nose in exasperation.

"😩Of course it would be him... James has always had... issues with being overly aggressive with military force.," Hyatan said sighing.

"Pardon me for asking, my lieges. But will this... excessive force above us be a problem?," Valvedern asked.

Berethon looked back to his two aides before Hyatan answered for him.

"No, Valvedern.. we don't foresee it being an issue. It is more of an annoyance to our stay here. (Valvedern and Zero look at her puzzled) It simply means we'll have to have a discussion with the man who brought them here.," Hyatan answered.

"You know this man then, your majesties?," Zero asked.

"Yes we do. He's an old acquaintance of ours back in our youthful days.," Berethon answered.

"It would seem we need to pay a visit to our friend earlier than expected, dear.," Hyatan said.

Berethon sighed.

"Yes, it would seem so. Our visit to our sons will have to wait it seems.," Berethon replied.

The King and Queen then signaled to their aides to proceed towards Beacon Academy. The Quartet of Dark Elves then made their way towards the School's faculty wing as they began walking through Vale.

Elsewhere...

The camera zooms in on Beacon, passing a large and unnerving ship as it descends upon a landing pad. Two Bullheads fly by as the camera slowly lowers to show ant-like swarms of people on the paths around Beacon. The camera shifts to the top of a tower veiled behind clouds. Ozpin and Glynda can be seen through the window into Ozpin's office. They are seen with Sybryh and Tarro, both of which were reporting in for the day.

"Ironwood certainly loves bringing his work wherever he travels.", Glynda said.

"Well, running an academy and a military makes him a busy man.", Ozpin said.

Sybryh raised a confused eyebrow at this.

"Pardon my asking, Headmaster... but I fail to see the need for this many soldiers. Isn't this a little... much for a mere festival?," Sybyrh asked confused.

Ozpin sighed.

"James may be... overzealous, but I assure you he is a good man.," Ozpin said.

"He can be... difficult to deal with. He's overly cautious and thinks force will solve everything.," Glynda said.

"Difficult eh? I see. Humans can be quite confusing sometimes, force won't solve every little problem and yet... they still operate as though it does. The real world isn't so kind to such naivetΓ©, this... James should know this.," The dark Elven sword maiden said.

Tarro then spoke up as Glynda had nothing to say on the matter.

"Ah... yeah. I forgot you Arkynorean Dark Elves only see things as black and white...," Tarro said in response.

The silver haired dark elf raised an eyebrow in response.

"Is there anything wrong with that? It's true isn't it?," Sybyrh asked.

"While you're not wrong, Sybryh, there's certain things humans don't reveal straightaway.," Tarro replied.

"I don't think I'll ever understand why you humans hide your intentions from each other. It's very odd to say the least.," Sybyrh said.

Glynda sighed.

"While James isn't... the easiest to agree with, at least try and hear him out.," Glynda asked.

"I will... do my best to restrain myself so as to not embarrass anyone here.," Sybyrh said.

Ozpin smiled as Glynda and Tarro both sighed in relief, at least she was willing to hear him out.

"Thank you, Sybyrh. That is all we can ask you to do.,"Ozpin said before turning back to his desk.

He looked at the hologram on his desk requesting permission for entrance. He glanced back at the three others gathered in the room. They nodded as he responded to the request.

The camera switches to an over-the-shoulder from Ozpin's perspective as three more Bullheads fly in.

"But yes, I agree with all 3 of you. Those are a bit of an eyesore.," Ozpin said annoyed.

A chirping beep sounds repeatedly. Ozpin turns to see a hollow-message "Access Requested" on his desk.

"Come in.," Ozpin said.

The camera switches to a low perspective beyond Ozpin's desk and facing the doors as they slide open to reveal Ironwood as Ozpin approaches to greet him.

"Ozpin!," Ironwood said greeting the man cordially.

Ozpin stands at attention.

"Hello, General.," Ozpin said.

"Please, stop with the formalities. We're friends, aren't we?," Ironwood responded.

The two approach each other as they shook hands, with Glynda approaching as well. Sybyrh and Tarro respectfully stood back as they weren't sure what to do entirely.

"It's been too long. And Glynda! It has certainly been too long since we last met.",Ironwood greeted the bespectacled blonde.

"Oh, James! I'll just be outside.," Glynda said as she give a personable wave before walking away and leaving the room.

"Well she hasn't changed at all.," James said before noticing the two other people in the room.

He raised an eyebrow, due to never seeing the two before. Realizing his confusion, Ozpin introduced them.

"Ah yes. James, these two are Tarro Koizumi, our martial arts instructor. And Sybryh Arkham, Our new weapons combat instructor. Tarro has been here just over 2 years now, while miss Sybyrh here just started here last semester.," Ozpin said introducing the two.

"Greetings, General I've been fortunate enough to hear many good things about you. I do hope we can work together going forward.," Tarro greeted.

James nodded and shook the saiyan's hand.

"Certainly. Well met, Tarro. (Looks towards Sybyrh)," James said.

Sybyrh approached the atlus General and headmaster.

"Greetings, General. I have also heard many good things about you.," Sybyrh said.

James looked at her for a long minute before realizing what this girl was.

"Pardon me if this seems rude, but.. are by chance from "that" race?," James asked.

"If you are referring to the Dark Elven race, General, then yes I am one.," Sybyrh answered.

"I see... you're not.. angry with me, are you?," James responded in question.

"No, General. Not you specifically. We realize not all humans are to blame for our... less than favorable position in society. But I can say because of our history with your kind... we don't exactly trust humans very much. So I respectfully apologize if it seems like I don't take your word on anything, we've been taken advantage of before like that. Dark Elves don't trust humans very much as of now. And... your kind hasn't really done anything to earn back our trust, please respectively keep that in mind.,"Sybyrh replied.

"Geez, I knew the trust issues between Elves and Humans weren't the best but... I had no idea they ran so deep.,"Tarro thought.

James nodded, he understood what Sybyrh told him and he bowed in respect.

"I'll keep that in mind. I do hope your people will learn to trust us humans again in the future.," James said before turning back to ozpin.

"So, what in the world has brought you all the way down from Atlas?,"Ozpin asked while picking up a mug and kettle before pouring said contents into the cup.

"Headmasters don't typically travel with their students, for the Vytal Festival.," Ozpin said as he offers a cup to Ironwood, then two more cups towards Tarro and Sybyrh.

The camera shifts to see the mugs changing hands. Tarro gladly accepted the offered drink, while Sybyrh looked at it quizzically as if she'd never seen coffee before. Ironwood is shown taking some packets out of his jacket and pouring them into his drink after a clink is heard, signaling the two friends had clinked their mugs against each other's momentarily.

"Well, you know how much I love Vale this time of year. Besides, with you hosting, I thought that this might be a good opportunity for us to catch up.," Ironwood answered.

Ozpin walks around to his desk, kettle and a new mug in hand. He then sits down and pours himself some coffee, his new mug in hand.

" I can certainly appreciate the quality time between friends, however, a small fleet outside my window has me concerned.," Ozpin said.

"Concern is what brought them here, Ozpin.," Ironwood said.

" I understand that travel between kingdoms has become increasingly difficult.," Ozpin said.

"Oz, both of us know why I brought those men.," James (Ironwood) replied.

"We are in a time of peace. Shows of power like this are just going to give off the wrong impression.," Ozpin said as he set his mug down on his desk.

"But if what Qrow said was true...," James started before being interrupted.

"Excuse me, Headmaster?," Sybyrh asked.

"Yes, miss Arkham? Have you something to add?," Ozpin asked.

Sybyrh nodded as she spoke.

"I do actually. And I believe it's something the general here needs to hear.," Sybyrh said.

Ozpin motioned for her to continue.

"With all due respect, General... This is not the way to approach this. Shows of military might in peaceful times such as the ones we're currently in right now can raise red flags as far as the public is concerned.," Sybyrh said.

"I'm merely being cautious, miss Sybyrh.," James answered.

Sybyrh sighed in exasperation before speaking up again.

"If what Qrow said is true, then I'm sure Ozpin will handle it as best as he thinks how to. It's the Vytal Festival. A time to celebrate unity and peace. There's a way to be cautious General, and this is not the proper way to go about it. Not everything can be solved by force because you feel like it should be. There's times when that's necessary... this however isn't one of those times. My suggestion to you would be not to scare people by bringing soldiers halfway across the continent in such numbers.," Sybryh told him.

"We are also being cautious, James. That is why we will continue to train the best Huntsman and Huntresses that we can.," Ozpin added.

"Believe me, I am. And I'll consider your advice miss Sybyrh. But ask yourself this: Do you honestly believe your children can win a war, Ozpin?," He asked as he briefly turned towards thean before continuing on to walk out of the room.

"For their sake James, I hope they never have to.," Ozpin said sighing.

After Ironwood left Sybyrh spoke up again.

"Headmaster, was I perhaps out of line to say the things I did?," The Elven sword maiden asked before continuing.

"If I was, I sincerely apologize for my impertinence.," Sybryh said.

Ozpin looked at the elf and smiled.

"No, Sybryh. On the contrary,  I believe you've given James quite a few things to think about.," Ozpin answered.

He paused before speaking again.

"I'm curious about the whereabouts of my old friends. Sybyrh, you said they had made the trip to Vale safely?," Ozpin asked.

"Yes. They have indeed. I believe they are heading this way actually. No doubt, they noticed the... fleet of ships outside.," Sybyrh replied.

"I see. Would it be too much trouble for you two to accompany me as I welcome them to Beacon?," Ozpin asked.

Tarro looked puzzled at this.

"Pardon my asking sir, but you're sure you want me to accompany you?," Tarro asked.

"Yes. I believe it would be beneficial for you to meet the sovereign rulers of the Arkynorean people.," Ozpin said.

Tarro couldn't argue with that logic, he had a point. Plus, he'd always wondered what the High King and High Queen of the Arkynorean people were like personally. It would be a good opportunity for him him to discern what kind of people they were. For that reason, he wouldn't argue going with Ozpin and Sybyrh to greet them.

"I see. Very well then. I thank you for allowing me to accompany you, Headmaster.," Tarro responded.

Ozpin nodded as the three of them, along with Glynda headed off to welcome the aforementioned rulers of the Elves to Beacon Academy.

Elsewhere...

In the Beacon Academy Library where you'd expect people to be reading, we find team Rwby playing a board game. They were playing Conquer Remnant: The Game. The camera pans from Weiss to Yang Xiao Long, then to Blake, who is obviously distracted, before finally landing on Ruby, who has been contemplating her next move.

"Hmmmmm.... All right... All right! (Points at Yang.) Yang Xiao Long, prepare your kingdom for battle!," Ruby said.

Yang thrusts her elbow down as she balls her hand into a fist, accepting her sister's challenge.

"Bring it on, Rubes!," Yang said clenching her hand into a fist.

Off to the side, we see team OHRF and Khanna's team who were merely spectating. Well... some of them were. They were also reading up on certain things they were... less than knowledgeable about when it came to the Vytal Festival.

Odyn and Roy watched with curious eyebrows raised as they were trying to figure out how the game Ruby and Yang were playing worked.

" I deploy the Atlesian Air Fleet!", Ruby said as she slapped her card down on the table while Yang feigns a look of shock.

"Looks like I get to fly right over your Ursai and attack your walls directly! (Makes noises like airplanes flying and bombing as she makes a bird with her hands.)," Ruby said.

This caused Odyn to silently chuckle at the silver eyed girl's antics. It was a very "Ruby thing" to do.

Yang then feigns an offended look as she points towards the younger girl. This was obviously part of an act for them, not that it wasn't amusing to watch for the Elves in the room.

"You Fiend!," Yang gasped.

Ruby is now ducked at one end of the table. The camera zooms across the table to show the board and its player pieces in detail.

"And since Atlas is part of Mantle, my repair time is only one turn.," Ruby said.

She peaks her head up from underneath the table only to hear Yang laughing arrogantly,  which confused her.

"Pretty sneaky sis, but... you just activated my trap card! Giant Nevermore!," Yang said as she slapped her card onto the table.

"Whaaat?!," Ruby said visibly disturbed and surprised.

Yang grinned as she spoke.

"If I roll a seven or higher, fatal feathers will slice your fleet in two!," Yang said confidently.

A scene of a Nevermore flying over a field of swords impaled in the ground plays over the conversation.

Ruby then speaks up as she came to a realization.

"But, if you roll a six or lower, the Nevermore will turn on your own forces!," Ruby said pointing at Yang.

The Nevermore is shown to be turning back toward Yang.

"Well, that's just a risk I'm willing to take!,"Yang replied confidently before she rolled the dice.

Team JNPR are shown as Yang and Ruby banter on about the game. Ren and Pyrrha are studying, and Nora's snot bubble inflates and deflates as she sleeps.

Khanna raised an eyebrow at this. She turned and whispered to Hailfire, who stood next to her.

"How can she even sleep, when it's as loud as it is?," Khanna whispered to Hailfire.

"I'm afraid.. I don't even have the answer to that question, lady Khanna... πŸ˜…," Hailfire whispered back sweatdropping.

She continued as she spoke again.

"Though... it is almost impressive how a human as odd as Nora can sleep through this ruckus.," Hailfire said.

"Amen to that, Hail.," Khanna said.

"Nooooo!!! My fearless soldiers!," Ruby said offscreen as the attention was shifted back to the board game.

Yang just shrugged in indifference.

"πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈEh, they were probably all androids anyways.," Yang said shrugging.

Roy raised an eyebrow at this.

"Do you even know what an Android is, Yang?," Roy asked.

"Yeah, I know what an Android is. It's a... robot sort of person, right?," Yang answered unsure.

"A robot sort of person- that's true but there's more to than.. you know what, never mind., " Roy said internally facepalming himself.

"Goodbye my friends, you will be avenged.," Ruby said.

Yang grinned as she spoke again confident in her victory.

"Not until I draw my rewards! Which are double this round thanks to the Mistral Trade Route!," Yang said.

Ruby threw her hands up in the air.

"Bah!," She said.

The two Elven siblings looked at each other puzzled.

"Do... you even know what this is anymore?," Roy asked his older brother.

"πŸ˜… To be completely honest with you Roy, I really couldn't tell you.," He said sweatdropping.

"πŸ˜… Right... I have no clue either.," Roy said sweatdropping as well.

Nora is snoring and randomly is talking in her sleep.

"Oh, have pancakes.," Nora said.

Odyn gave Roy a puzzled look, to which Roy just shrugged not sure why Nora would say something so... random. Then again... that was kind of Nora's thing.

"Oh, and what's this? The Smugglers of Wind Path?," Yang asked offscreen.

Off to the side, Pyrrha confiscates Jaune's comic book and handed him an educational book. She then reads Jaune's comic without really thinking about it. A Nevermore piece is then tossed over the blonde's shoulder, while another one bounces off of his head seconds later.

"Bah! Bah, I say!,"Ruby said.

The Elves are still looking at the spectacle confused.

"I say, it looks like I'm taking two cards in my hand!," Yang said back.

"Have you no heart? Noooo!," Ruby said as she collapses on the table groaning.

"Well, Weiss, it's your turn.," Yang said.

Weiss looked confused still.

"I have absolutely... no idea what's going on.," Weiss said puzzled.

Yang slides up beside her and puts her hand on her shoulder.

"Look, it's easy! You're playing as Vacuo which means that all Vacuo-based cards come with a bonus.," Yang said semi- coaching her friend on how to play the game.

"That sounds.. really dumb.," Weiss said with a dry look.

Yang starts looking through Weiss' cards. She speaks as she shows her each card.

"See, you've got Sandstorm, Desert Scavenge... Oh, oh! (Pulls up a card to show Weiss.) Resourceful Raider! See, now you can take Ruby's discarded Air Fleetβ€”," She started.

"Noooo!," Ruby said crying.

"and put it in your hand!," Yang said as she finished explaining.

"Okay.," Weiss said.

"And since Vacuo warriors have an endurance against Natural-based hazards, you can use Sandstorm to disable my ground forces and simultaneously infiltrate my kingdom! (Yang points a finger at Weiss.) Just know that I will not forget this declaration of war.," Yang said as she pulls away and is suddenly back in her own seat.

"And that means...," Weiss asked.

"You're just three moves away from conquering Remnant!," Ruby said suddenly recovered from losing.

Odyn had a confused look on his face at this. He raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"Wasn't she just crying that Yang beat her a minute ago?," Odyn thought thoroughly confused.

Weiss stands and a thunder clap accompanies Weiss' overjoyed psychotic laughter.

"Y-yes! Fear the almighty power of my forces! Cower as they pillage your homes and weep as they take your children from your very arms!," Weiss said monologing.

Yang's arm goes up as she's seen holding a card.

"Trap card..," Yang said holding up the card for everyone to see.

"Huh?," Weiss says confused.

Yang shuffles the pieces on the board, Weiss' pieces disappearing in a puff of smoke.

"Your armies have been destroyed.," Yang said.

Weiss slumps in her chair, cries and whines.

"I hate this game of emotions we play!," Weiss said now crying and whining as comical tears came from her eyes with her head resting on the table.

Daikon couldn't help but to chuckle at this. That was far too funny to miss for him.

Ruby then hops into Weiss' lap as she has comical tears spilling from her eyes too.

"Stay strong, Weiss! We'll make it through this together!," Ruby said crying.

"Shut up!," she says as she hugs Ruby and then continues. "Don't touch me!", she whines.

Ruby then looks to Odyn who met her gaze as she comically whined.

"Odyn... help me!," Ruby comically begged.

"Um... I'm not sure what you expect me to do Ruby...," he said sweatdropping.

Daikon walked over to Weiss, smirking while trying to hold in his laughter so as to not be rude.

"What's the matter princess? Your pride and confidence gone because you lost at a board game?," He teased.

Weiss blushed madly before replying. She was embarrassed enough already, she didn't need this guy rubbing it in even more.

"S-Shut up! And.. I told you not call me that!," Weiss said glaring at him.

"Oh? Did you? You'll have to refresh my memory,  cuz it seems I'm a bit forgetful of that particular instance, princess.," Daikon said teasing the heiress more.

"Why you little-!," Weiss said glaring at him again.

A line of electricity litterally formed between their gazes, causing those around them to sweatdrop.

Yang just put her hands behind her head as she looked towards Blake.

"Well Blake, you're up!," She said trying to move on on from the comical argument between Weiss and Daikon in the background.

"Oh, um, sorry, what am I doing?," Blake asked.

"You're playing as Vale, trying to conquer the Kingdoms of Remnant!,"Yang said.

"Right.," Blake said seemingly uninterested.

Jaune was then seen approaching the table.

"Hey! Can I play?," Jaune asked.

Ruby was going to answer him, but she didn't see her chair and tripped on it and went flying into Odyn. The elf acted quickly to stop her momentum, but also tripped on the downed chair which he didn't see.

This caused both teens to fall backwards and hit the floor with a thud. Thankfully, Ruby wasn't hurt as she merely landed on top of Odyn, who took the brunt of the impact with the floor.

Odyn winced slightly, but he wasn't hurt. Ruby moving so suddenly just surprised him. Luckily, he adjusted in time so Ruby wasn't hurt. Ruby then raised her head and opened her eyes.

"Odyn! Oh gosh, I-I'm so sorry! You're not hurt anywhere, are you?," Ruby replied in slight panic.

Odyn chuckled and ruffled Ruby's hair before smiling at her. He was just glad Ruby wasn't seriously hurt after moving so suddenly.

"Yes, I'm fine. Just glad you weren't hurt.," He said before he continued.

Odyn cleared his throat as he spoke up, Ruby noticing that his cheeks were red. She tilted her head in confusion at this, not noticing the position they were in currently. The blue haired dark elf felt his cheeks go red due to the position both of them were in. This confused Ruby before he spoke up to address the matter. She sighed in relief, ruby was glad Odyn wasn't hurt by her suddenly moving out of the chair like she did.

Uh..U-Umm... R-Ruby?," Odyn asked slightly embarrassed.

Ruby looked at him as he addressed her.

"Yes? What is it, Odyn?," Ruby asked oblivious to the position she was in currently.

"You seem to be distracted by something.," Ruby said to him.

"Yeah, y-you could say that.," Odyn said blushing and still unable to to quite look the girl in the eyes.

Everyone in the room was staring in mild shock, except for Yang. Yang was smirking at this. Flare had her hands over her eyes as her entire face was red, Khanna had her head in her palm, Weiss also was blushing at seeing the position Ruby and Odyn were in, Roy was wide eyed, Daikon was holding in a snicker, Pyrrha had her hand over her mouth in surprise, and Jaune's eyes were as wide as almost everyone else's.

C-Could you uhh... move now? You're uhh... a little close to me at the moment. And I wouldn't want anyone to be getting the wrong idea about you and me.," Odyn said blushing.

Ok I can move.. but what do you mean by I'm a little close to-," Ruby started but never finished her thought.

Looking down, she saw the reason why Odyn was embarrassed. She was literally right up against him, and on top of him at the same time. Her face burned a deep shade of red, while what looked to be steam came from the top of her head. She quickly got off of Odyn and abruptly apologized to him to avoid further embarrassment.

I-I'm S-S-Sorry O-Od-Odyn! Oh G-Gosh! U-Umm I uh..," Ruby stammered with a deep shade of scarlet on her face.

Odyn chuckled at this and placed his hand on Ruby's head. He knew she didn't mean to embarrass the both of them, it wasn't her fault what happened created sort of an initial misunderstanding. Now, Odyn just wanted let his friend to know that he wasn't mad at her.

Ruby, relax. I'm not mad, it was an honest mistake. Don't beat yourself up about it, okay?,"Odyn said smiling at her.

"Just.. try and be more careful next time, okay?," Odyn said advising her.

"R-Right.. i-I'll keep that in mind O-Odyn. ," Ruby said still blushing.

That was really embarrassing for her as she litterally couldn't stop hearing her heart beating in her ears. It was like a drum.

"Anyways Jaune, I think Ruby was going to say that they already have 4 players.," Odyn said covering for the silver eyed girl.

He looked back to Ruby, who nodded in confirmation. Everyone else seemed to get the idea and decided to move on from what just took place... for now.

"Y-Yes and besides, this game requires a certain level of tactical cunning that I seriously doubt that you possess.," Weiss said clearing her throat.

She did this in an attempt to forget what happened between Ruby and Nova just a minute ago. Though, it was obvious she was desperately struggling to forget about it.

Jaune then begins to beg with both hands folded.

"Come on, let me play your hand for a turn!," Jaune said begging.

"I'm not trusting you with the good citizens of Vacuo!,"Weiss huffed.

"Bring it on, Ice Queen! I'll have you know that I have been told that I am a natural born leader!," Jaune stated proudly.

Weiss raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"By who? Your mother?," Weiss asked annoyed.

"A-and Pyrrha!," Jaune said nervously.

Pyrrha is seen waving as she pops into the conversation.

"Hello again!," Pyrrha said smiling.

"Says the girl who got her armies wiped by a trap card.," Daikon snorted back.

"Hush you!," Weiss said blushing madly again.

"Ooh I'm so scared! Make me shut up, Ice.. princess!," Daikon smugly teased her with a grin.

Weiss felt like a vein was going to pop on her head. This guy, he was so... irritating. And yet... she strangely understood him better when they argued.

"Ooh you-!!! You little-!," Weiss said glaring at him.

This earned a silent snicker from Daikon, who hid the fact he was laughing well. Weiss glared at him, which earned her a smug glare back from the saiyan. She made an annoyed sound as she glared at Daikon, who was obviously laughing at her.

Daikon glared back as the other swore the saw the silhouettes of a dragon and a tiger behind the two.

"Uh...guys?," Jaune asked nervously.

Daikon and Weiss both turn to looked the blonde.

What?," both Daikon and Weiss said in unison.

"Well , it's just.. Weiss has trusted me with important stuff before. Like the fact you told us Blake is Fa-," Jaune said before being shut up by Pyrrha covering Jaune's mouth before he said anything else.

"Fun-loving person, whom we all admire and respect.," Pyrrha says interrupting Jaune.

Jaune then laughs nervously as everyone looks over towards where Blake was, obviously annoyed that everyone knew her secret now.

"Right. That. Ladies, enjoy your battle.," Jaune said as he and Pyrrha walk away.

Footsteps are then heard offscreen as they are coming towards the group. The foot steps are revealed to belong to Sun Wukong and Neptune Vasilias.

"Sup losers.," Sun said in greeting.

Ruby finally speaks up, having somewhat gotten over her embarrassing situation with Odyn a few moments ago.

"Hey Sun!," Ruby says in greeting.

Sun is seen holding up two fingers in a peace sign. The camera shifts to show that Neptune is next to Sun.

"Ruby, Yang, Blake, Khanna, Flare, Roy, Daikon, Odyn, Hailfire, Baron, ... Ice Queen.," Sun greeted.

"Why does everyone keep calling me that?," Weiss asked offended.

"I never got a chance to formally introduce you to my old friend.," Sun said motioning to Neptune.

Neptune then speaks up.

"Uhh, aren't libraries for reading?," Neptune asked.

"Thank you!," Ren said.

"Pancakes!," Nora says waking up.

"πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ ," Ren smacks his palm against his head at Nora's random outburst.

"Shut up. Don't be a nerd.," Sun said.

Neptune waves his finger at this.

"Geh, geh, geh, geh! "Intellectual", okay? Thank you. I'm Neptune,  by the way.," the blue haired teen said waving.

Weiss then speaks up, catching Neptune's attention.

"So Neptune, where are you from?," She asks.

"Haven.," Neptune says briefly before approaching Weiss. "And I don't believe I've caught your name, snow angel.," Neptune said.

"Um, I'm Weiss.," the heiress says.

Jaune throws up his arms in frustration at this.

"Are you kidding me!?," Jaune says in frustration.

"Pleasure to meet you.," Neptune says.

"Careful of this one princess, he's a player.," Daikon says snorting.

Weiss blushes madly at Daikon again for using that nickname he seemed so fond of to tease her with.

"Well, excuse me for thinking he's alot more of a gentleman than you! You're nothing but a filthy mo-," Weiss started but froze when she saw the dark aura coming from Daikon.

"Huh? πŸ’’ What were you about to call me, shnee?! You better not have been about to call me what I think you were!," Daikon glared back cracking his knuckles at her.

Weiss visibly shrunk back abit from this. She had forgotten just how terrifying Daikon could be when called a certain derogatory name.

Even Neptune was starting to sweat nervously now.

"Remind me, never to call this guy what Weiss was about to call him.. I don't think I want to know what his bad side is like.," Neptune thought to himself while nervously sweating.

Sun then looks to Blake and sees her playing the board game he saw the whole group around.

"Huh.. I never took you as the board game playing type.," Sun said a little surprised.

As she speaks, she shoves Sun aside and leaves the room.

"Right, well, I think I'm done playing actually. I'll see you guys later.," Blake says exiting the room.

The Elves eyed Blake. There was definitely something bothering her, they'd have to look into it later.

"That... definitely wasn't normal for Blake. Something must really be bothering her Hailfire thought.

"I agree Hail, we'll have to investigate that later.," Roy said telepathically through the link all of the Elves shared.

"I think we should give Blake some space... for now at least.," Khanna added.

"She'll talk when she's ready to I'm sure.," Odyn said.

"Well.. if her teammates don't coax it out of her first.," Baron said.

"πŸ˜… You... have a point there.," Khanna said sweatdropping mentally.

The attention was then shifted back to the group of teens in the library.

"Women.," Nora says as she shrugs.

"πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ You do realize you're referring to yourself in that manner too, right?,"Roy thought to himself after seeing this.

Everyone agrees to go their separate ways eventually, which then leaves, Odyn, Roy, Hailfire, and Flare with team RWBY as they head back to their dorm.

Just before they leave, Khanna tells her cousin that herself and her team will meet up with them later. Odyn nods as the two dark elves perform the traditional way of saying farewell. They bring their forearms together briefly while fist bumping, then transitioning into them grabbing the each other's arm. From there they pound their chest twice before saluting and High fiving each other as they walk away from each other.

_________________________________________

Team RWBY are shown entering their dorm room. They are followed by Odyn and his teammates. Ruby is still fairly quiet. Given what took place between her and Odyn earlier, it was understandable that she chose not to speak.

Yang was abit cranky when they entered the room.

Ugh, we should have never let him play!," Yang angrily said.

Yang, I think you're just mad because the new guy beat you. You did make several mistakes in that last game.,"Roy said.

"Yeah, well who asked you anyways?," Yang said still bothered by the fact that she lost.

"Just my opinion Yang. You don't have to take it personally.,"Roy said.

Yang sighed, she knew Roy was right.

"Yeah, I suppose you're right.," Yang said.

The crimson haired dark elf knew this would bother Yang for awhile so he thought of a way to remedy her foul mood.

"Look Yang, I'm sorry for opening my mouth when I shouldn't have. Is there any way I can make it up to you?,"Roy said apologizing.

Yang smirked as she eyes him up and down before she gained a mischievous smile on her face. She walked up to Roy and purposely got uncomfortably close to him.

"Hm... yeah, I can think of one way for you to make it up to me, hot stuff ~," Yang said in a voice that made Roy shiver uncomfortably and involuntarily blush.

The way she said that into his ear worried him more than just a little bit.

"Jokes aside, how is Ruby doing?," Yang asked turning to look at Odyn.

"She's.. better I think. Still a little shaken by what took place earlier, but she'll be alright.,"Odyn said.

"Ruby... come on, your sister's worried about you. Don't be so hard on yourself. As I told you earlier, what happened wasn't at all your fault.," Odyn said.

Odyn then looked to Ruby who smiled at him weakly before she spoke upon seeing that she was making her friends worried about her.

Ruby looked toward the dark teen and sighed before perking back up to her normal self. He was right.

"Yeah, you're right Odyn. Sorry I was being such a dummy.," Ruby said smiling.

The dark elf chuckled and smiled at the girl before ruffling her hair a bit.

"Like I told you already, Ruby. What happened was just that, an accident. It was in no way your fault. While it was unexpected, it wasn't something you need to be degrading yourself over.," Odyn told her.

Ruby looked at the dark elf and smiled back at him. She appreciated him saying that. Odyn somehow always knew what to say when she was feeling down or embarrassed about something.

As they enter, Blake approaches the door to leave. However, she is blocked by Odyn's other teammates. Roy, Hailfire, and Flare all stand in the doorway blocking her.

"Stop.," Weiss said pointing at Blake.

"Lately, you've been quiet, antisocial and moody!," Weiss said to the cat faunus.

"Uh, have you met Blake?," Yang asked.

"Which I get is kind of your thing, but you've been doing it more than usual! Which quite frankly, is unacceptable! You made a promise to me, to all of us, that you would let us know if something was wrong!," She said before flipping through the air.

Weiss continued.

As she does this six copies of Weiss' emblem fly through the air before she points her finger at Blake again.

"So, Blake Belladonna, what is wrong!?," Weiss asks.

Weiss is shown to be balancing precariously on a chair's back feet. She quickly puts the chair away and returns to stand near the other teens in the room.

Odyn, Roy, and Hailfire give the heiress somewhat of a puzzled look before looks back at them.

"Not, one word... please.," Weiss said not wanting to be embarrassed.

"You needn't tell us that Weiss, we wouldn't tease you. Unlike... a certain red eyed saiyan we all know.," Hailfire said.

Weiss raised an eyebrow at this. She'd never heard of a Saiyan.  As much as she wanted to ask what the Elven girl meant, she put it at the back of her mind for the moment. She'd have to ask later.

Back to Blake, the cat faunus finally spoke up and voiced her concerns.

Blake sighs.

"I just... I don't understand how all of you can be so calm.," Blake said.

Ruby was about to speak up, when Hailfire beat her to it.

"Lemme guess... you're still thinking about that crook, right? What was his name again?," Hailfire asked.

She looked to Ruby, who spoke up once she knew what the Elven teen was getting at.

"Torchwick.,"Ruby said.

"Torchwick, right. And you're also wondering why no one is doing anything about it too, right?," Hailfire said.

Blake widened her eyes in surprise at this. How on Remnant was Hailfire able to guess what she was thinking?

"How did you..?,"Blake started before Hailfire spoke again.

"I'm a dark elf, remember? We Elves can pick up on things normal people can't.," Hailfire answered.

That was right, she forgot that Elves were more perceptive than normal people were. Of course she'd be able to pick up on what Blake was thinking, her friend's heightened Elven senses probably picked up on her thoughts and attitude.

"Like Hail said before... I'm thinking about Torchwick, the White Fang, all of it! Something big is happening and no one is doing anything about it!," Blake said.

"Ozpin told us not to worry. Between the police and the Huntsmen, I'm sure they can handle it.," Yang said.

"Not to be unreasonable Yang, but... do you really trust them to be able to catch torchwick and deal with the White fang?,"Roy interjected.

"Well I..," Yang started before Blake spoke again.

"I'm not! They don't know the White Fang like I do!," Blake said slightly angered.

"Okay, between blowing up nightclubs, stopping thieves, and fighting for freedom, I'm sure the three of you think that you're all ready to go out and apprehend these ne'er-do-wells!," Weiss said.

Ruby raised a confused eyebrow at this.

"Uh... the who?," Ruby asked confused.

Odyn leaned over and whispered to her, simplifying things for the girl.

"She means people with evil intentions... in other words, bad guys.," Odyn said whispering to Ruby.

Ruby had her palm flat as she put her fist into it like she understood now.

"Oh, got it! Thanks, Odyn.," Ruby whispered back.

"You're welcome.," He said smiling back at her.

He then looked to Roy who just gave him a look.

"What?," Odyn asked.

"πŸ˜‘ Did you really need to explain that to her?,"Roy asked giving his brother a dry look.

"Yeah, I did. It wouldn't do for her to be in the dark about everything.,"Odyn said.

"I get that. There such a thing as- you know what, nevermind.,"Roy said.

"But let me once again be the voice of reason. We're students! We're not ready to handle this sort of situation!", Weiss said speaking up.

"Well yeah, but...", Ruby started before Weiss silenced her.

"We're not ready!," Weiss interrupted Ruby.

"And we may never be ready! Our enemies aren't just going to sit around and wait for graduation day. (Pointing toward the door.) They're out there, somewhere, planning their next move, and none of us know what it is, but it's coming! Whether we're ready or not!", Blake replied.

Ruby raises her hand and does other random gestures, while smiling excitedly.

"Okay, all in favor of becoming the youngest Huntresses.. (looks at Odyn) and Huntsman to single-handedly taking down a corrupt organization conspiring against the Kingdom of Vale... say aye!," Ruby said.

The Elves couldn't help but to inwardly chuckle at the silver eyed girl, she was so innocent. All of the teens gathered spoke up, voicing their agreement.

Pumps her fist enthusiastically and points at Blake.

"Yeah, I love it when you're feisty!," Yang said.

"I suppose it could be fun.," Weiss said.

"We'll help out too.," Flare said.

"May as well. We don't have anything else pressing to do.," Roy said.

"We'll gladly help you guys. Besides... (looks at the 4 girls) someone has to make sure you 4 don't get into too much trouble.," Hailfire said.

This made all 4 girls laugh nervously at her comment.

"None of you said Aye.," Ruby said slightly pouting.

Roy elbowed Odyn, who hadn't said anything yet.

"Aye, Ruby. Like I said when we first met, I'll have your back no matter what.," Odyn said.

This caused Ruby to blush as she briefly became embarrassed.

"T-Thank you O-Odyn.," Ruby said with her face flushed red.

"😏 Hmmmm? Interesting reaction there Rubes.," Yang said smirking.

Ruby waved her hands in front of her face to dissuade her sister from jumping to conclusions.

"No no no no no no no no no no no! It's not like that Yang!," Ruby said blushing.

Yang smirked again at her sister.

"It's okay Rubes, I'll let you make out with your boyfriend later.," She said smirking.

Ruby's face turned an even deeper shade of red as she briefly chased the blonde around the room.

"Yang, I told you... It's not like that!!!," Ruby said embarrassed.

Roy then softly hit Yang on top of her head to refocus.

"(Sighs) Yang, please stop teasing your sister. You can tease her all you want later, now isn't the time for that.," Roy said.

Yang slightly pouts before shrugging.

"Fine, fine.," Yang said relenting.

"Alright then, we're in this together!", Blake said.

Ruby made a gesture after recovering from her embarrassment at Yang's hands.

"Let's hatch a plan!," Ruby said.

Yang gestured with "double guns" at Ruby as she spoke.

"Yeah!, " The Blonde said.

Hailfire turned to Odyn.

"Should let Khanna in on this too.," Hailfire said.

Odyn nodded.

"What do you guys say about letting Khanna and Baron in on this?," Odyn asked catching everyone's attention.

"That's a good idea, we could use Khanna's critical thinking for this.," Weiss said.

Odyn just gave her a look.

"What? Is there something on my face?," Weiss asked.

"No, Weiss. I'm just a bit surprised you of all people would say that.," Odyn said.

Weiss was a little offended by this.

"And what do you mean by that?! Even I have to acknowledge your cousin's ability to think critically and sensibly.," Weiss huffed.

Odyn raised his hands in surrender and in an effort to placate the shnee heiress.

"I apologize if it sounded like an insult,  Weiss. I was in no way attempting to insult you or your intelligence.," The dark elf said.

"I suppose I can forgive you for that.," Weiss said.

"I'd say go ahead and contact your cousin, we're going to need her help for this.," Yang said.

Odyn nodded before Ruby spoke up and realized something... she forgot her game board in the library!

" I left my board game at the library!," Ruby gasped as she freaks out.

"πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ we're doomed.," Weiss said face palming.

"Wait Ruby! I'll come with you, I have to contact Khanna anyways.," Odyn said.

Ruby nodded before the two teens rushed out of the room.

_________________________________________

As Ruby and Odyn rushed towards the library, they ran into Khanna. The black haired girl was out on a walk through the hallway when she spotted the two of them.

"Ruby? Odyn? What are you two doing?," Khanna asked.

"Oh, hi Khanna!," Ruby smiled.

"We were actually on our way towards the library. Rubes, forgot something in there that she needs.," Odyn explained.

"I see. Well, it's a good thing I ran into you two. I was actually looking for you guys. Mind if I tag along with you two?," Khanna said.

Ruby and Odyn smiled.

"Sure, we don't mind.," Ruby said.

Khanna smiled back as she followed the two in stride as the trio continued on down the hallway. As they walked, Odyn explained the idea team Rwby came up with to stop the White Fang and Roman Torchwick.

"So... you want me and Baron's help?," Khanna asked.

Odyn nodded.

"If you could help, that'd be great!," Ruby said.

"Heh, alright. I guess we can help you out.," Khanna said.

Ruby sped ahead of them, due to the time they needed to get back to the others on.

Odyn reached his hand out as he and Khanna ran after Ruby.

"Ruby, wait!," Odyn and Khanna both called.

The sound of  a collision is heard as Ruby seems to slam into the camera and disappears offscreen.

"Oo-oof! Oh g-! (looking up) Sorry. Are you okay?," Ruby yelped.

Odyn and Khanna came running up behind her.

"Ruby! Are you okay?," Odyn asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine.," Ruby smiled.

"I'm fine. Just watch where you're going next time.," Emerald said as she offered a hand to the girl.

Ruby stands up after being helped up by Emerald. Mercury stands beside them as his eyes widened when seeing Khanna.

"Oh, right, sorry. Anyways, I'm Ruby! And these two are some good friends of mine. This is Odyn, and Khanna. Are you guys new here?," Ruby said.

Emerald steps aside to reveal Cinder as she approaches.

"We're visiting from Haven, actually.," Cinder said.

"Ooh! You're here for the Festival then?," Ruby asked.

She continued.

"But exchanged students have their own dormitory.," Ruby said.

"I guess we just got turned around.", Mercury said.

"Ah, don't worry about it. Happens all the time. Your  building is just east of here.," Ruby replied.

Both Odyn and Khanna scowled upon seeing Cinder, they knew something was off about this woman. As Cinder spoke, it suddenly clicked in both of their minds. This woman... was a murderer.

There was a flash of a Woman with black hair and amber eyes in a red dress  surrounded by flames. She stood over the corpses of people Khanna knew well, her family. Her brothers and cousins....all dead. Slaughtered by.. THIS woman!

Both dark elves felt their blood boil as the Flashback faded from their minds. Their family's killer was right in front of them. Ruby looked back towards the Elves, noticing their silence.

She became rather concerned as neither of them had said a word for nearly a full minute now.

"Odyn? Khanna? Are you two okay?," She asked worried.

Odyn shook his headand smiled towards the girl.

"We're... fine, Ruby. Just needed a minute.," Odyn said suppressing the building rage inside of him towards the woman in front of them.

Once both of them calmed down is Khanna saw Mercury. Her eyes widened and she spoke before she could even process the words spilling out of her mouth.

"M... Merc? Is that you?," She asked in shock.

Mercury's eyes also widened in shock.

"K... Khanna?," Mercury managed to croak out.

The other teens looked between them, surprised. Did they know each other?

Cinder cleared her throat.

"Anyways, thanks. Ruby was it?

Maybe we'll see you later.," Cinder said as she started to walk away.

The camera shifts to show the faces of the trio as they continue to walk away. Behind them, Ruby can be seen waving.

"Oh, and Welcome to Beacon!," The girl said.

Cinder grins as they continue walking away. Khanna tells Odyn and Ruby to go on ahead as she will catch up.

Both teens nodded and walked ahead. Once the two were out of earshot, Khanna called after the three visitors.

"Hold up you three.," Khanna said as shadows covered her face.

Cinder turned grinned at the girl.

"What can we do for you?," Cinder asked.

Khanna walked just past Cinder and glared at her, making sure she felt her bloodlust.

"Don't think I've forgotten what you did to my family... murderer. I never forget the face of my family's killer...," Khanna said darkly.

Cinder's eyes widened as she began to sweat upon realizing who she spoke to.

"I-Impossible... You're... that little girl?,"Cinder asked shocked.

"The little dark elf girl you failed to kill all those years ago? Yeah, that's me. You'll pay for what you've done, trust me.,"Khanna said threatening her.

She continued walking until she stood right in front of Mercury.

"Merc...," Khanna said softly.

Mercury had a flash in his mind of a girl with dark skin and... the same colored eyes he now stared at. It really was her, the childhood friend he thought had been killed. It couldn't be, though there was no denying that nickname.

"There's only ever been one person who called me by that nickname... it really is you isn't it?," Mercury said in near disbelief.

Khanna's eyes softened as she embraced her longtime childhood friend, much to the surprise of Cinder and Emerald.

"I've finally found you, Merc...,"Khanna said softly.

She then exited the hug before putting a hand on his shoulder as she walked back in the direction odyn and Ruby went.

"Be careful around Cinder.... I'm not sure what it is, but there's something very very wrong with her.," Khanna said.

Khanna continued.

"You've been having second thoughts about what she's making you do recently, haven't you?," Khanna asked.

Mercury nodded.

"Thought so. You need to pick a side Merc. I'll need your answer soon. Just know this... I'm not letting some evil lunatic have my friend. I'll drag you away from her, if I have to...," Khanna said as she walked past the teens before turning and glaring at Cinder.

"Oh and Cinder.... If you do anything to my friend, your death... WILL NOT be painless!," Khanna said glaring.

The dark elf then walked off leaving the three visitors stunned.

What they needed to do at Beacon just became a whole lot harder now. Khanna left them visibly shaken with her words.

One thing was for sure, they'd have to be even more careful now that a survivor of the massacre 10 years knew they were up to something. These dark elves could prove to be quite the hurdle to get over moving forward.

To be continued...

Visuals: characters of this story

_________________________________________

Hey guys,  hopefully you enjoyed this chapter! As you saw, Cinder is responsible for the slaughter of the siblings and family of two main characters in this story.

As you can imagine, the hatred for Cinder is very deep rooted for Odyn and Khanna. What did you think of the interaction between Khanna and Mercury? Too short? If so, don't worry.  They'll have a more emotional interaction later in the story.

The whole scene with odyn and Ruby in the library I felt I needed to add to put some further development in their relationship. But as you can tell, it's still more of a growing one sided attraction/close friendship than both having mutual romantic feelings for each other.

To end this, I'll throw a few polls your way:

Who do you think Hailfire should end up with?

A. Shallot (Dragon ball legends)

B. Yatsuhashi (CVFY)

C. Oscar P. (Volume 5)

D. Sun Wukong

E. Other (write in male character suggestion)

_________________________________________

Who goes on a date first?

A. Odyn and Ruby

B. Yang and Roy

C. Baron and Flare

D. Weiss and Daikon

E. Jaune and Pyrrha
