Fate/One with Nature

Chapter 166: Vampiric Struggle [3]

Third POV:

Zack turned to his ice element after dodging an Ancestor's claws before stabbing his own in the Ancestor's chest. He froze the body from the inside out and watched it break into pieces.

(This is taking too long,) Zack thought with a groan.

It had been nearly an hour since the beginning of the fighting and he had not heard from Brishisan or the Magus. He had been trying to keep things as tame as possible but the fight dragging on will gain Crimson Moon's attention.

Zack felt annoyed. He hadn't managed to permanently kill any of the Ancestors since only extremely noticeable attacks can kill them. But, he managed to wound them enough to make them back off.

Not that it mattered in his opinion since they always regenerated.

The next Ancestor appeared behind Zack while opening his mouth wide. The Ancestor bit down on the Elemental's neck with his fangs.

Zack didn't move and just changed to his fire element, burning the mouth of the Ancestor that bit him and making him let go. A wave of fire sent him flying away.

"Did you just try to bite me?!" Zack asked in shock as he looked at the burned Ancestor while he regenerated. "... Pfft- HAHAHAHA!"

Zack held his knees as he began laughing loudly. The Ancestors looked confused as he raised his hand and held his finger, motioning for them to wait for a moment.

"Oh, that was gold! What were you even trying to suck out?" Zack asked as he got his laughter under control. "Wow. I am definitely telling Yu about this. She'll have a fit!"

"Enough!" The first Ancestor to attack, the one in a white suit, yelled in frustration. "We had enough of these games! It's time for us to get rid of you once and-

The sound of something ripping through the air was heard. Everyone looked around and saw that no one was hurt, not Zack or one of the Ancestors.

That's when something began rising from the edges of the territory. A blue wall of energy began forming and rising fast. Soon enough, it covered the entire city within a dome of blue light.

First POV: Zack

"Finally!" I yelled as I saw the barrier close up.

Any longer and I really am worried that Crimson Moon would notice.

"What is happening?!" One of the Ancestors yelled out.

"You're losing, that's what," I said as I turned to my lava element.

I don't have to hold back anymore to stall. I just created a large wave of lava that swallowed a dozen Ancestor and completely incinerated them.

The sound of battle broke out but not just on me. I wasn't the only one attacking. As soon as the barrier was done the Magus came in and began their own fighting.

Zelretch was just walking around while throwing crystals at the Ancestors. The crystals would exploded in rainbow colors every time and complete destroy the Ancestors.

Ainzel was also fighting. Swords created from glowing thread were floating around her and reducing anything near her into shreds.

Lord Barthomeloi's body was covered in his magical circuit being on and he was going on a rampage. Gordon told me he hates Vampires but damn.

"What is the meaning of this?!" One of the Ancestors yelled before I vaporised him with a lightning bolt.

"You got played, that's what," I said as I looked at the panicking vampires. "Did you people really think I would struggle that much against you morons?"

"You've been toying with us this whole time?!" One of the Ancestors cried out.

I tilted my head at them. "Of course I've been toying with you. Do you want to see what happens when I actually take you on seriously?" I asked before snapping my fingers.

Suddenly, the ground under them burst into spikes that were covered I Runes that gave them Holy energy. The spikes all surrounded them and stopped just as they were gonna pierce their skin.

"Now, do you actually want me to keep toying with you or take you seriously?" I asked as they began to sweat.

Suddenly, all the fighting stopped.

The sound of the barrier shattering echoed everywhere. I looked around at the Magus to see what happened and found them confused as well. Looking upwards, I saw the sky being completely clear and the moon shining down on us.

But one thing was wrong with that image. The moon was red.

"So, you're the Archetype the planet has informed me of?"

I turned around to see who spoke and-

Fear

Fear was the only thing I felt as I looked at those crimson eyes.
